I got the ICO/ShadowColossus HD set for my kid. He's absolutely loving it. To him it's the equivalent of Dark Souls for me lol :0)
It's really about the immersion, higher graphical fidelity usually increases the level of immersion in a game. For example, go and play some of your favourite PS1 games now. There will inevitably be a lower level of immersion than when you first experienced those games. It's just natural progression of technology and expectations.
Aww man, yes I am jealous :0(
Keep all the multiplayer footaqe coming through aye :0)
peeps who are into the Uncharted franchise, are into the games because of the singleplayer story and not because of the multiplayer.
How do you define "real gamer"? So all those ppl who play the COD and BF franchises are not real gamers?
Dude your premise is flawed. My definition of real gamer is any one who games as a hobby etc.
I am a real gamer and I will be playing BF3 and not Operation Flashpoint.
For us Europeans, we still have to wait another week. AAArrrrgrgrhhrrghrhrhrhrrhrhrh rrggggghgggg.....
The Journo's are gonna go nuts with the screenshot comparisons, PC vs PS3 vs 360 vs 360HDD... lol
Is it really better than COD? Yep I went there o.0
Well written article. I think the biggest point to take away is that 'Battlefield3 IS NOT Call Of Duty'. It is a different, more team oriented and tactical (better?) gameplay experience.
Uncharted 3 anyone... No PS3? Well then, Skyrim?
oh wait... how could I forget, Battlefied 3!!!
MW3 who?
P.S. I understand what the author means when he says "summer blockbister", int he same sence that films like Transformes 3 are considered "summer blockbusters" - i.e. a string of mindless action and slo-mo sequences, with no coherent plot which the masses flock to see despite it being a deplorable excuse for a film etc etc etc
noob reviewer is a noob!
From the vid "when we looked back at MW2 we realised we made the game for one type of player" 0.o No $hit sherlock...
If anything it is MW3 that is getting attacked. People generally like to rrot for the underdog.
In any case my Big3 is definately BF3, UC3 and Skyrim. Iwill be renting MW3 though, but just for teh story tbh. BF3 will be my multiplayer game fo choice.
See you guys on the Battlefield. :0D
The beta has a purpose. The purpose is not to judge how far along the game may or maynot be, but to test server load and report bugs/glitches etc. I have never been in a beta test yet that did not have bugs and glitches... because that is exaclty the point of teh beta.
I have to agree though, that Dice should have made it clear at the outset that it was old code.
I recon they should release a proper demo to silence all the beta naysayers.
Let me explain, cos it's gamers like yourself that I'm referring to. The Beta had to be submitted to sony and M$ for certification. It might then take them 4 weeks to certify the code etc etc. By that time, the dev's continue optimising and revising the code. They don't just sit around wasting 4 weeks, no they carry on developing the game. Hence OLD CODE.
It was a beta not a demo. It was to test server stability, conectivity, stress loads etc etc.
The Caspian Border Trailer should be a TV spot. Best FPS multiplayer trailer in a long time.
TBH, gamers (and journalists for that matter) who don't know the difference between a beta and a demo - have no business being in a beta to begin with.
I like the way the game makes you feel at home at the firelink shrine. Then out of the blue, the firekeeper's not there anymore, and ohh the bonfires gone out...
And then the hunt is on for Anor Londo...
loving it.
yeah, I'm still not going to watch it for two reasons. Firstly I don't want to overhype the game for myself (I'm sooo stoked for UC3 don't get me wrong), and I want every encounter to be fresh and exciting, without the "ooh I remember this bit from that trailer" moments.
Suspension of Disbelief people, suspension of disbelief.
The gamne is not made so that every single thing can be destroyed. That is not the point of the game. Destructibility is supposed to be an incidental element to the overall experience of the game. Destruction was never ment to be the point of the game. In anycase, you would need stupid processing power to enable every single thing in the game to be destructible. Nevermind the fact that it would break the game anyway.
