Looks cool. But when does this release on PS4? Hopefully it won't coincide with Destiny. I'd hate to see those two up against each other.
Well it looks like it might be smooth sailing for the rest of the year for Sony's PS4. The kinectless xboxone will probably give Microsoft a small boost, but without killer software, I really don't think they'll catch up this year. I don't think the Halo Collection will be enough, (especially if Titanfall wasn't). Now that most of the killer titles have been pushed back till next year, I guess it is then that we might see a differentiator.
I just don'...
I loved the Alpha and immediately pre-orderd the game! This game is going to be huge this holiday season. It's great to know that the Alpha was an old build and the Beta will be a newer build. Man I can't wait.
Definately going to be exploring till the Alpha officially ends? Absolutely loving this game.
Exactly as Nitrowolf said, this is the most polished alpha/beta I've ever played, and I've beenin a few. Heck compare it to the Battlefield Hardline beta. It makes Hardline look like it's still in pre-production.
Underneath it all, besides the basic network test, this 'pre-alpha' is basically part of an (excellent) marketing deal between Sony and Activision.
This game is absolutely beautiful. Is anyone else getting a Mass Effect meets Start wars vibe? I'm loving it, can with for release. I'm all over this baby!!!
Can we start the petition to call him "Venomous Snake", instead of "Venom Snake"?
I know it probably makes sense in Japanese, but not in English!
I got into the Alpha and he does sound flat. I don't get why they did not add a robotic inflection to his voice (ala Legion in Mass Effect). Same goes for the voice in the multiplayer matches, it needs a metallic or robotic inflection. Without it it just sounds like a dude whose bored calling out the scores.
Yeah, for me too it's about the gameplay and story first, before the multiplayer and co-op stuff. ALthough I have to admit that I loved the idea of fireteams, I just hope they allow you to communicate in some meaningful way beyond dancing at each other. Destiny will probably end up being my go-to FPS shooter though.
Well there's apparently going to be 10 years worth of content that Bungee is producing!!! So that's going to be one hell of a season pass. I wonder how much It will cost?!?
Same here, my interest in Destiny was lukewarm until I played it. I think now that people have actually played the Alpha the hype level for this game is going to go through the roof. I was very pleasantly surprised with Destiny - take note EA, this is how it done!
Yeah, I think Destiny is going to be Huge. Especially as it really has no competition this holiday season either in the FPS space, or the MMO space. I can't see ESO or Planetside (if it releases this year) competing with Destiny TBH.
I read your title read like - "Watchdogs vs GTA 4" lol.
OT I think Rockstar still hold the crown with GTA V, but I do think Ubisoft set the bar really high with Watchdogs, and have shown that it has the potential to innovate and surpass GTA.
There are also many ways that GTA V surpass Watchdogs. GTA games have always been about all out fun factor, satire, and outlandish criminality. I would argue that GTA is a more 'fun' game to play overall...
I've been waiting for GTA V PS4 since it released on las gen consoles. This and The Last of Us are the only games that I reckon are really worth remastering, and playing again on next gen consoles. But yeah, I do hope Rockstar sweeten the seal and add extra story DLC or something similar.
So far I'm absolutely loving the Alpha. But's Battlefield Hardline to shame. I got into the beta of BF:Hardline, and in comparison to Destiny it feels like a last gen game!
I know what multiplayer game I'll be playing this holiday season!
Dude you forget about The Order 1886... oh wait, you're trolling...
I don't even know what people mean by 'linear' game. Are they talking about a linear story, one that cannot be influenced? Or are they talking about linear game mechanics i.e. on-rail games. Or do they mean linear in that you have a singular path through the game, i.e. corridor shooters.
Basically it's people blowing smoke where there is no fire. Some of the best games out there are 'linear'. Heck The Last of Us is a 'linear' game, but it's...
Yeah, I'd love a better Collectors Edition, but tbh these things are getting prohibitively expensive for me. And a few months later I'm left with a whole lot of tat that I don't use, don't need, and need to store somewhere.
I guess that's one of the Trophies we'll get to unlock... "Speed Run Trophy - complete the game in less than 100 hours"
Yeah I think I'm going to pass of Hardline. I'll be too busy playing Destiny anyway.
