Pre-load Day1 patches are a brilliant idea. I've always wondered why day1 patches can't be pre-loaded the same way the games can prior to release..
But the best part is that you can turn off matchmaking and play the game single player only if you want. You probably won't get through the silver and gold level content, but you'll easily get through all the bronze story content solo.

In reality it's not a massive issues. It's just the dissonance for people lke me who will still be gaming on PS4, and so when Miles Morales is released we'll be seeing a different Peter Parker, than the one we've come to know and love.
Still not quite used to the 'new' Peter Parker face, I'll have to see if it grows on me.

It shouldn't be surprising. The character represents the default gaming demographic, whihc is white male.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and it in no way doesn't mean that there aren't a tone of ppl out there playing as walking dragons and devils.
I think most ppl can't be too bothered spending 2hrs customizing their character before jumping into the brand new sparkling experiences that awaits beyong the character creation gates.
