as if characters never change or gain new traits in a reboot. as if making Lara Croft gay would somehow ruin her character or completely change it beyond recognition.

also the fact that it would be guaranteed to sell under .25M is another big reason. how is porting anything to the wii u a good investment?
youve seen how criterion is pouring all this extra money and time into the wii u version of "most wanted." yeah, lets see if they do it again after the game bombs horribly.
the wii u is already pretty cheap. it isnt a matter of price.
the games coming at Q4 2013 and Q1 2014 will boost it's sales, but not enough save the console. first party games are not what sold the wii. it was the casuals. and most of the casuals have no interest in the wii u, no matter how cheap it is.
basically what we have here is an underpowered version of the gamecube, with less third party support.

look back at FF6, chrono trigger, or other SNES RPGs. the introduction of character emotes really impacted how the story was conveyed. for example, characters jumping up and down, when excited, sulking when depressed, or even panting when tired.
you can look back at old games and say how they didnt need modern graphics to tell a story, but they brought new innovations for their time to help ...

its not a matter of bandwagon jumping. to say that it is, is to assume that the wii u and PS4 are on some equal playing field. they arent. AT ALL.
whether it be third party support, online, launch titles, graphical power, and console features, the wii u is failing.
