apple is not going to kill consoles. their IOS market is completely separate. no one is suddenly going
"hey! I no longer care aboug uncharted and halo. instead, im going to sell my PS3/xbox and get an iphone and play nothing but IOS games like angry birds"
that isnt not happening. apple will never take a chunk out of the hardcore market
they are completely different markets. most people gaming on phones and tablets dont give two ****s about the wii u. they want portability and 99 cent little games.
sticking a touchpad on your controller doesnt automatically make your system appeal to tablet gamers. it's just so ill conceived. they might as well put a touch screen on a corded phone. it would have about the same appeal to IOS gamers.
the casuals dont care a whole lot about the home consol...
anyone with a little bit of foresight can tell that the next xbox will be all about kinect and video streaming. microsoft has really cemented that as their focus, the past few years, and I doubt they will suddenly change it.
if you are hyping yourself for the 720, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. whatever they have planned, I guarantee you, will not stack up to the PS4.
cablebox-720: kinect edition
who would be surprised by this? it's what they have done at every E3 for the past 3 years. the truth hurts
at least it's scarier than the supposed "survival horror" games we have been graced with, recently (RE6, dead space 3, aliens)
9/10 game + DRM = 1/10
learn from this, EA. learn from it
im guessing there will be more than two variations (you have to take into consideration various bundles from retailers)
it will be on the basis of
- HDD space
- a game bundle
- online subscriptions (im guessing they will have various tiers to their online, with "free" ranging up to various levels and, of course, playstation plus)
- a move bundle
"Having ANOTHER Killzone game does not an "insanely strong launch lineup" make. "
we have infamous, killzone, knack, driveclub, the witness, watchdogs, destiny, deep down, watchdogs, diablo 3, and GTA 5. how is that not an insane launch lineup? how is that even comparable to the wii u, whose biggest launch window titles were zombie u, nintendo land, and new smb u?
you are out of your mind if you think that isnt a strong launch lineup
the vita is a ticking time bomb, really. as soon as a price drop hits, you will see it selling like crazy
please. the PS4 is NOTHING like the wii u. it is the polar opposite
the PS4 isn't hard to develop for.
it doesnt have online that is barely catching up to current gen
it has an insanely strong launch lineup
it has universal third party support
sony isnt making any of the mistakes that nintendo made with the wii u. that isnt fanboyism. that is simply reality.
i dont even like playing these types of games online. so to me, DRM like this is totally unacceptable.
if you actually read the reviews that gave the game 7s, you can see that they are utterly full of crap.
casual morons who cant stand any skill-based, competitive, multilayer game with a learning curve
people who selectively bash a game like this for being a rehash, then turn around and give every yearly cod, assassin's creed, "new super mario bros" game 8.5s and 9s.
most reviewers these days dont have a clue what they are talkin...
i get the feeling he has just been aching for attention since he left G4.
even if GOW was misogynistic, it would be appropriate for the time period it takes place in.
i guess someone at EA took a look at the diablo 3 launch and said
"you know. that's exactly what we should do"
fanboys are desperate to find reasons to dismiss the PS4. but there really isnt solid ground to do so. we hear things like
-----------
"they didnt show the physical console"
and? are you that worried about the aesthetics of the CASE that the console will come in? are you afraid it's going to mess up your feng shui? get out of here with that
"it could be like the PS3. strong but hard to develop for"
if one company goes down they arent going to take the whole console industry with them. that is just silly
if the wii u goes kerplunk, how exactly would that hurt the other consoles? if anything it would mean more sales for them.
and you cant really use competitiveness as an excuse. the wii u isn't pushing the PS4 or 720 in a competitive sense. those consoles are blazing ahead of it on every conceivable level. as far as sony and microsoft are concerned, t...
I cant imagine anyone looking at dead space 3 and saying
"oh wow. a third person action game. what an original, novel, innovative concept. we definitely dont have enough of those. but do you know what we do have too much of? well paced, atmospheric, survival horror games. man, that genre is so overdone today. what we really need are some gears of war wannabes."
seriously EA. what were you thinking?
im sorry that modest doses of reality makes you terminally ill
the wii u gamepad is never going to appeal to phone/tablet gamers, or compete against the IOS market, because it isnt even a portable device.
I said from the beginning that nintendo is shooting in the dark with this gimmick.
THAT is what you call "a generation leap"
i dont see the mario games like mario is "rescuing his object." if anything, he is getting the **** end of the stick. he is clearly getting friendzoned by peach. he saves her in every game and what does she do? she bakes him a cake.
