nintendo horribly lost 2 generations in a row. what is the magic element that saved them last gen? a massive, unprecedented gimmick craze. is that element still here with the wii u? no. not even a little bit.

technically the last time snake appeared on a nintendo console was the 2 NES games. which were before the rating system.

it will probably be a beast engine, just like COD4 was when it came out, but then it will be rehashed over and over until it is totally dated
the sony and microsoft conferences will be awesome and will probably be viewed by more people than any e3 press conferences in the last 3 or more years

why not just follow a different character, or characters, within the God of War universe? you have the entirety of greek mythology at your fingertips. there is an infinite number of possibilities.
also it would be interesting to see it transfer into a new pantheon of gods. like the Norse gods, Egyptian gods, or Roman gods. they could make it work.
enough of these absurd comparisons to the wii and the 3DS. the wii u is not comparable to those consoles.
nintendo has never had a serious threat in the handheld department and has not faced too much competition. their strength in the home console market has not been nearly as consistent. also, the expectations of handheld hardware are totally different than home console hardware.

if they dont have a conference, they might as well not show up at all. anyone can go look up trailers and nintendo directs on youtube. that isnt what E3 is about
E3 is about the pageantry. it is about showing off what you have and the competition doesnt. millions of people watch these events, live, and tens of millions afterwards on youtube. E3 sets the gaming conversation all the way to the holiday season.

last year the vita took home over a dozen handheld GOTY awards (and even 2 flatout GOTY awards) between uncharted, gravity rush, persona 4 golden, LBP, and sound shapes.
so, last year the vita undoubtedly won in terms of games. and I think it will be the same this year.
but, of course, the 3DS sells more because its audience is primarily children and casuals. this isnt me trolling. this is factual

the nintendo fanboys are having a field day, "disagreeing" every comment.
i can tell they are mad. who wouldnt be? they've been saying "wait til e3" since 2011 and the wii u has failed to impress, consistently. now nintendo is not even going to try to take the spotlight. but I guess if they couldnt win E3 in 2011 and 2012, when they were the only new console, how could they win now against the PS4 and 720?

if just any 2 of those games are there, day 1, it would be amazing.

the xbox720 and PS4 conferences are going to be crazy. all eyes will be on sony and microsoft. you NEED a conference. you need to put on a show. you need to stand out and compete.
does nintendo realize that this will totally take them out of the next gen conversation, especially this holiday season?
the vita will do alot better with a price drop. but they need to drop the price of memory as well. that is what really gets people
nintendo really should have waited to see what sony or microsoft were bringing and seriously try to go after the playstation and xbox audiences, instead of casuals. they sort of tried to do both, but in doing that they didn't really get either. all they get are the nintendo diehards and the people who buy any new console that comes out.
the wii u launch was clearly rushed. launching in 2012 was a monumental mistake
