In Europe at least, he failed on selling Hardware.
If things follow this line, I don't really see a brilliant future hardware wise for the rest of the year. There's still a big gap to be catched up and the competition isn't sleeping on their laurels. For what has been shown, Resistance 2 doesn't look like breaking any grounds both technically (vastly shadowed by Gears 2) and Gameplay (A.I. and Animations need a serious improvement)
What else is there? Little Big ...
"If you don't like it, then quite the company or sue it"
The President of TECMO must be wishing every night, before going to bed, that he never mentioned those words... In front of Itagaki.
The guy literally obliterated him.
What's the point of this article?
First, do you really believe Sony will give the Playstation 3, 10 years of competitive lifespan? That's pure dust in the air, to be later debunked by themselves when a PS3 is released somewhere no later than 2013 (2012 being the highest possibility)
Secondly, If Microsoft releases a next Xbox in 2011, the console would have a 6 years of lifespan, which is perfectly fine for a console. Each generation has historically lasted 5 or 6 ye...
I hope they come up with a fresh new action game. There aren't many around. It will be ironic if they star making more profit from the Xbox 360 than the Ps3.
Wasn't this title promoted as an independent product?
For what I know, the websites even have it listed separately. This is probably why they reviewed it in a new article.
By the way, considering this one got 7/10, wouldn't it lower the overall game if included in the first review? If we average both, MGS4 would've had a score of 7.5
Yes, the game is doing really good and it managed to nearly double PS3 hardware sales in the launch week.
Things will become more interesting from now on. How will the PS3 do after MGS4? Will it boost sales consistently or will this effectlast just a couple of weeks?
It's also worth thinking that, now that MGS4 is out, which console is looking better for the second Half of the Year? Uhm...
I already have my own answer to the last question, but E3 should...
1. Visuals. While nice in some areas, It looks quite plain in many others.
2. Animations: Quite weird. When you see your mates running around it looks a bit old school. Not a COD4 level animation there.
3. Framerate: This is 100% understandable. Being this an Alpha build it's ok to have many framerate drops. Just please don't let them slip through the final build.
4. AI. This is my biggest complain here. The gameplay is severely affected by unconvincing and almost unexisten...
Name a game that looked like this one on previews and ended up looking 5 stars?
In addition, this is Insomniac's 3rd PS3 game. Big improvements from previous builds have been seen on launch games but rarely in 3rd generation games.
I think this is pretty much what we're going to see in the final game.
Metal Gear Solid certainly looks much better and, of course, so does Gears of War 2.
Seems that the competition for best looking game will not include Resistance 2 this year.
On the other hand, it does look interesting gameplay wise.
The problem with MGS4 is that it's a game for the hardcores, it's more of a hardcore game than Gears of War and Halo. For example, anyone without any knowledge about Halo's or Gears world could pick the game up and have lots of fun. This is what sells systems to a broader audience. Even when MGS4 seems to be an excellent game (and the first true Triple A PS3 game) I believe fans will get a bit dissapointed when they see the sales from 2nd week of MGS4 launch and above.
We will ne...
A- is considered as 90% of score, which is still very good.
Ruling out the uncompressed audio, that should take some Gigas alone, the core game should fit in 3DVDs max. The possibilities are immense.
Infinite Undiscovery has been published by Square Enix under unclear circumstances. The game was initially being published by Microsoft but afterwards, this changed. Probably in an agreement between MS and SE so take advantage of the Square Enix name in Japan, who knows.
My point is, it's not true that Square Enix is developing an exclusive for each console. Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean are being developed by Tri-Ace, and while it's certainly a good indicator that SE is s...
Who said it was a full exclusive? The producers themselves said a PS3 version is in discussion, so there are high chances that it will be released on Sony's Console.
HOWEVER, what is 100% sure is that the game will be released on Xbox 360 FIRST, and Worldwide. What came as a blow is that rumors pointed out that it'd be the total opposite, but it just didn't happen.
Right now Microsoft is enjoying an excellent relationship with the biggest 3rd party publishers, and S...
It's very hard to notice any differences between both versions. For what I could tell, it seems that the Xbox 360 version has better AA but it'd need a bigger and clearer version of the video to be sure.
At this point, it seems that the Playstation 3 catch up will depend entirely on Japan. In USA + Europe numbers they're so close that it'd take decades for Sony to surpass Microsoft at this pace. The excellent RPG lineup also guarantees strong Europe + Other sales in the future for Microsoft's console.
I believe MGS4 will sell well, but I don't think it will be a big system seller. It will have a peak this month and afterwards, things will basically go back to normal. I do believe...
Star Ocean 4 will most likely be released on PS3. Later than on Xbox 360 but still.
However, at this pace, FFXIII could well end up landing on Xbox 360 as well. Remember that from all Square franchises, Final Fantasy is the one with the biggest western appeal and it would make all sense to release it in the console with best software sales in those regions.
I usually take these rumours with a grain o salt. This one is particulary difficult to believe not because we’re talking about a game that has been ported to numerous consoles but for the mere fact that - for anyone with a bit of common sense - Metal Gear Solid 1 on XboxLA could mean nothing else than an introduction to the series for Xbox 360 owners in an effort to hype up a future port of Metal Gear Solid 4. Otherwise, it would be some kind of bitter joke to the Xbox fanbase.

Nice way to compare totally different games. It's curious that when the comparison is made against the exact same games, the Xbox 360 outperforms the 95% of times with difference that go from abysmal to not very noticeable, while the underperforming in the 5% (or less) is rare and the gap in performance (if any) is minimal.
This sounds like those official speeches at Sony Conferences, but this one with non backed up claims.
If there's a genre where the Xbox 360 has taken a massive advantage over the Playstation 3 that's RPGs.
Who would've known? 3 years ago, the RPG genre was the latest you'd associate an Xbox with, especially talking about Japanese games. Sure there were some good Western RPGs on the original Xbox, say Jade Empire, KOTOR and Fable, but that's about it. This time aroun...
