What the hell are you guys whining about?
This is because most games are demoed on Xbox 360 in Conferences since it's still being vastly used as a primary developing platform.
Killzone is starting to look worrying. We all know it's pretty, just like we knew the first one was... Give us some quality gameplay please or the franchise might be as well dead after two low rated titles (IF this happens to be true in the final version)
The Time is running out for this game and we haven't seen a single really encouraging preview so far. Reminds me of Too human and its "lots of potential" which turned into exactly that... lots of untapped potential.
If Guerrilla doesn't pull a decent Killzone 2, this franchise will be dead.
Indeed, I am saying that Gears of War 2, Fable II and Banjo will push much more consoles than the titles you've mentioned. First of all, SOCOM has received more doubts than praise here, Valkyria Chronicles will be on PS3 but I haven't even mentioned Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery landing on Xbox 360 too. THe RPG side is secured this year. Resistance will be good and sell well, but there's no title this Holiday that will carry more hype and sales than Gears of War 2, that's a given...
What makes me think this is the launch of two of the most anticipated games of the year: Fable II (scheduled for October) and Gears of War 2 (November) combined with Banjo Kazooie (December) and a possible pricecut.
The Xbox 360 didn't have any big exclusive American oriented titles so far this year. Ninja Gaiden II was the best one, but it isn't really big in USA. Too Human didn't meet the expectations and so on. However, starting in October, by far the most important months of ...
This one is very misleading:

They're summing up the whol Sony (PS2, PSP, PS3) and Nintendo (Wii, NDS) products against the Xbox 360.
This one is the real deal:

I do believe the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 in July. But the Xbox 360 outselling both the PS3 and PS2 combined? That would be killer. Better wait for the official numbers though.
1. Microsoft don't give dedicated servers for first party games because they all have been working great without them. At least in my experience it's been like that.
Sony does NEED to use dedicated servers to convince people their service is worth it and because PSN is still more unstable than xbox Live, and it would hurt their image if first party titles suffered from that as well.
Sony fans usually brag about X people online, while most of the games (on Xbox Live ...
The reason why the PSN has had so many incremental updates is because the service had an awful lot to catch up with whereas Xbox Live has been working consistently since the Xbox 360 launch (except for the 2007 xmas downtimes)
As for "no groundbreaking changes in Xbox Live"... uhmm... Somebody hasn't watched Microsoft's E3 conference.
This is going to be very though from now on. Too Human releases next week and marks the start of an avalaunch of eagerly anticipated titles on Microsoft's console in every region. I don't see Sony catching up much for the rest of the year, and xMas will definetly belong to Xbox.
John Carmack has already said the difference will be barely noticeable and only in isolated areas where people rarely explore. In the main areas, they will look exactly the same.
Some people don't know what to make news about.
You didn't even had the mental speed to notice that those number spins were wrong.
70 / 600 = 11.7%
300 / 2300 = 13%
However, Tommie still has a point. For a brand historically ignored, having a comparable reception as MGS4's compared to the total installed base is great news (and much better than Valkyria Chronicles). Nobody is saying Sony or Nintendo need to worry about Japan right now, but it's a healthy sign of a long term investment.
Why is the Open Zone so filled up by 13- years old Sony fanboys?
It's unbelievable difficult to find a thoughtful post these days. I might need to change hobby. =S
This is very interesting considering we have no idea of most of the exclusive titles for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for the next year.
Some sites don't know what to do in order to get some clicks.
PS3 games have been using 30% of the system since launch... or at least, that's what have been reported over and over again.
This is old, very old and inaccurate.
Madden 2008 sold vastly more on Xbox 360. Check the numbers, when it was released, the Xbox 360 accounted for 13 times the sales of the PS3 (Yes, the PS3 EA software sales multiplied by 13)
What is surprising is that the PS3 has sold so good in such an irrelevant period. Probably due to Euro 2008, but this even takes place only every 4 years.
I'm still having trouble finding the logic in this. There's no single EA Game that has sold better on PS3 than on Xbox 360 for what I can recall (FIFA maybe? but it sold great on Xbox 360 as well) Even the Kotaku guys are confused.
On the other hand, keep in mind this should be for the period between April-June 2008. See how the Xbox 360 reached 218-196 million sales in the following months due to big American releases.
I'd love to see the breakdown of these numbers...
Seems it's a close call. IGN gave best graphics technology to Gears of War 2.
I think it's set in stone now that in this generation, no console will outperform the other in visuals. It will be all up to the devs.
These aren't even news. Ubisoft's FiscalPeriod runs from April to March so the chances are that the game will be released somwhere in 2009, which is what we all were expecting after the E3 no show. It will not take until 2010.
This is great news if you ask me. Ubisoft was killing this great franchise by releasing a new version every year ala Rainbow 6. Now it's getting the proper treatement and 2009 will be full of long time in development games just like this one and Alan Wake. ...
No, it hasn't cracked Japan but it's definitely doing better than its predecessor. While Japanese gamers are still giving it a cold reception, it has certainly raised many eyebrows in the land of the rising sun mainly for having the most Japanese-gamer appealing library out there.
This is a long term project and when I say "long term" it means 10-20 years, not just one generation of consoles. If there's a company that can endure such a long race that's Microsoft and if ...
