I think there's little doubt Ninja Gaiden II will be a better product than DMC4. The game is just about being released so it's nonsense to keep discussing about it. Let the reviews and the fans tell the story. I believe they're gonna give him credit.
I can't believe he's so confident even before his product is released.
Gotta give him kudos for Ninja Gaiden Black. It might have been surpassed in terms of story and production values by God of War but in terms of Action, Ninja Gaiden is the absolute king and this is what the genre is about: Action.
By the way, now they're supported by Microsoft so top-notch production values are guaranteed. Story... well we'll see.
There are many multiplatform games that just run better on the Xbox 360:
GTA IV: 650p + Lower Framerate on PS3, True 720p + Better Framerate on Xbox 360.
Dark Sector: 1152x640 on PS3, True 720p on Xbox 360.
Soldier of Fortune - Payback: Performs horribly on PS3.
Condemned 2 Bloodshot: No AA on PS3, less consistent framerate vs. 2xAA on Xbox 360 and better framerate. Not big deal but still there though.
Army of Two: 1217x685 on P...
I'm sure this will be the first PS3 exclusive to score above 90% overall since the console was launched. But it will be more interesting to see non "Playstation Magazine" scores.
And Unreal Tournament III is looking and running better on the Xbox 360 because of the hardware too?
Both consoles are pretty much even in terms of power, it comes down to development time and talent. After all this time, even the fanboys should know this.
Because of the poor research, lack of knowledge a last-generation view of the industry, you ignore that Bioshock is not made by Bioware but by Irrational Games, now renamed as "2k Boston".
It will be interesting if Bioshock 2 is announced just few weeks after this release, and exclusively for the Xbox 360. Ninja Gaiden Sigma comes to my mind.
By the way, please stop with the Cell talking, it hasn't ever worked before and until now, the Xbox 360 keeps outper...
Very good interview, very good questions and answers. Shane Kim is a great Spokerperson.
He reveals that RARE is actually working on more titles right now and that they aren't buying anything in Japan but encourage japanese developers to make content for the console backed up by their western success (you can make stuff appealing for both Japan and West you know)
Is not very wise to comment on an interview without actually reading it. He's not talking down on Gears, he's just saying they're not expecting it to have such a successful launch as Halo 3 (he was asked this) because the content in Gears is more mature oriented and you obviously can't have the kids lining up as they did with Halo.
For a second there I said "Wow, a thoughtful response"
... but just for a second. Your twist isn't valid for the solely reason that I'm elaborating on my first claims in the rest of my post whereas your edition isn't backed up, and therefore, makes no sense.
Variety? I'd like to know where are the high profile action games? the RPGs and the RTS? to mention a few. Sony has 4 "high profile" titles, 2 of them had scores in the 80s in the first editio...
"Microsoft has no AAA FPS comming out this year."
Gears isn't a FPS, but it's still a shooter, and it's bigger than any FPS comming for the PS3 this year.
"Microsoft has nothing to compare to Socom Confrontation"
SOCOM has been getting pretty bad previews. Technically, it looks very outdated. This is why Sony barely ever mentions it.
"Little Big Planet is not even remotely possible on the Xbox 360"
...
So, you will have to wait quite a bit to know.
Damnit, another long post. I tried to make it shoter -_-
Read my title, this is the whole point. Microsoft is not relying in A single game to sell hardware, they're investing in multiple games and genre to build such a strong library that appeals to anybody who is interested in games.
Sony fans have been talking about how earthshaking will MGS4 be, and in terms of quality, it might be but just like any other hardcore oriented games, it will not pull hardware sales because most MGS hardcores already own a PS3. Many would say, yes but it...
Sony has been outperforming in worldwide sales but they're still catching up slowly considering the difference between both consoles and that's only factoring Japan in where Microsoft "doesn't exist" commercially. Other than that, they've been pretty even in USA + European sales.
Said this, 2008Q1 sales had nothing to do with strong lineups, and this is what this article is about. Kim isn't even serious, he's kidding to respond the interviewer question about Sony's line...
Only that the noisy ones about their "fantastic 2008 lineup" has been Sony and their fans. Microsoft has barely mentioned their lineup until recently in their Spring Showcase and Kim is right. For the look of things, it seems that this will be another Microsoft year in terms of Software.
For some who didn't get it, being 2009 the year of Sony was an absolute sarcasm from his part.
No port will be made for this game... and I'm pretty relieved.
Half of those games don't even have a proyected date or are already confirmed to be 2009 titles. The fact that Sony announces titles for the future 3 years doesn't make their lineup stronger.
It says "Console exclusive"
Left 4 Dead is the same as Bioshock was in terms of exclusivity.
This is where Quality outperforms quantity. The Xbox 360 has twice as many titles rated 80% and above compared to the Playstation 3. It just doesn't matter if some of those titles are on PC or not, console gamers play on consoles and I'd rather playing the best Xbox 360/PC games in my console than a lot of fully exclusive average games with some triple A among them, that, every day of the week.
Also remember that Microsoft supports both PC and console gamming, so it's logical to ...
Conclusion:
After going through another eight games, we've found a few trends that follow both of these consoles around. Outside of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, our findings didn't show any drastic differences in image quality between the two consoles--nothing compared to what we found when we compared first-generation games in our original comparison feature. The PlayStation 3 generally lags behind the Xbox 360 in high-quality textures and the depth/normal maps that go with them. Howeve...
