Sadly, Sony doesn't seem to be getting their darn act together. Metal Gear Solid is their biggest title this year, by far. Probably an FPS like Resistance has a broader appeal, but with proper marketing, things could turn around. If not, just look at Mass Effect and Bioshock on the Xbox 360.

And there you also have 8/10 on Eurogamer and EDGE. My point is that I don't think the game deserves an 8/10, but there is people who also believe it's not a 10/10 either.

Not my words, their, and I agree. There's no single exclusive PS3 game rated above 9 in the Metascores, and MGS4...
Actualy the PS3 version has been rated LOWER than the Xbox 360's (IGN for example) because it looks and ran much worse on the PS3.
The game isn't that good so it's not a big deal. If anything, it just proves that being this a heavily textured game, the PS3 really struggles to handle textures due to reduced memory but not much more than that.
It's still an Xbox 360 exclusive in the US and Europe.

Now it gets more realistic. Those 10/10 scores from every single Playstation dedicated Magazine out there weren't exactly the most reliable sources. Considering how much of a need is the Playstation 3 for a Triple A savior I believe bias from those sites was unavoidable.

Gears of War 1 had 8 player multiplayer and it's still being played by dozens od thousands, only outperformed by COD 4 Halo 3.
