Not even the most rabid fanboy can deny this. The Xbox 360 has the highest quality and varied RPG library out there and in production. Mass Effect, Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean 4, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon 2, Cry-On and Tales of Vesperia. If you are an RPG fan, this is the console of choice, hands down.
I have hear zero people from all the guys playing FPS on Xbox Live ever mentioning Resistance. The Xbox 360 is so full of Top Notch shooters that PS3 FPS is the last thing we desire.
On the other hand, I agree that many Xbox fans would love to have MGS4 in our library, that includes me. Final Fantasy XIII would be nice too but it's not like we don't have enough good jRPGs. Actually, we have much more than PS3 fans currently.
Uncharted was a good game but it just didn...
I've been thinking about it. The major downplay most fans mention when a MGS4 possibility surfaces is the fact that it'd require multiple disc swapping, probably a la Lost Odyssey.
However, after reading this, it seems that the PS3 version is plagged with an even more annoying issue: 1-3 minute install times, not mentioning the initial 8 minutes one.
Said this, I think that if this port ever takes place, the Xbox 360 would make it up for the disk swapping by not requ...
I was eagerly reading the whole interview to find out what a high profile producer has to say to back this up. However, she just expressed her thoughts but not the reason why this would happen.
The fact that the Playstation 2 somehow reached the family audience has little to do with the Playstation 3. First, there was no Wii back then, second, the Xbox was a console heavily focused on the hardcore with little library in comparison to the PS2. This time around, things have change...
"The game requires an eight minute install, as well as a number of two to three-minute installs between acts."
I'm not sure what this means.
One has to install portions of the game as you advance in the chapters? How many installations are there? And how long does the whole thing last?
Very weird.
Bad ports have been a Nightmare for PS owners since the launch of the console. This lists a bunch of good examples of this phenomenon. A number of factors have influenced this, complex architecture, limited budged for a small sized installed base, late launch, etc.
However, things have improved quite a lot recently in the multiplatform front. We're starting to see that the most talented developers such as Epic, Codemasters, Infinity Ward, CAPCOM, and others can deliver similar qu...
Do you realize that the Xbox 360 will always be in a better position in terms of price drops?
In other words, it will be the first of the two, to hit the massive market price point of $200-$250. The price in which historically, consoles sales have been boosted. Therefore, by the time Sony is ready to hit $300, Microsoft will be ready to lower the Xbox 360 price to a mass market accessible price.
Contrary to what the common belief was, after the release of GTA IV both consoles are pretty much neck to neck in the console race. Really good numbers mainly for the Xbox 360 which at this pace, has all chances to retain their lead in total installed base.
It's worth mentioning that the Wii is becoming a profit machine. Not only it's selling like hotcakes, it is by far the cheapest console to make, and their low budget first party titles are also selling incredibly. And to think...
Perhaps because I don't go for the standard and cheap trolling and try to back my posts with fact, my friend.
False. That's because the 12x DVD is capable of keeping up with good loading speeds whereas a 2x Blu-ray isn't.
How exactly does that level of reply make you feel big and clever? lol...
You're spending even more money on the already expensive Playstation 3 just for the ability of playing various games at a given time? Something that the Xbox 360 does by default.
I don't see the good deal here.
By the way, very few people is able to spend so much money on a console, especially now in times of recession.
@ Thoas:
So PS3 users will have to spend $150-$200 bucks more just to be able to play a wide variety of games at a given time?
I honestly prefer just plugging and play them. After all, it's true that Xbox 360's HDDs are more expensive, but at least you know they will be full by worthly stuff instead of Game installations just to make up for the slow drive speed of the console (In the case of the PS3 blu-ray)
Yes, that forum was PS3forums.com, and they of course WANTED TO BELIEVE that those pictures were edited since the difference in quality and detail was so abysmal in favor of the Xbox 360.
The proof that the comparison was 100% real, unedited is here:

Is still a good thing that games require a mandatory installation for the PS3?
I don't think so. In my experience, having to wait 5 - 20 minutes for each game you want to play for the first time, reducing the space available of your HDD and worse of all, not being able to play an "oldie" on the fly just plain sucks. I can't imagine having to uninstall a game just because my disc is full and I want to play one I don't have installed...

Lower Memory = Lower Res Textures OR Inferior Palette OR Lower Resolution.
This is what affects the PS3 in many multiplatform games.
Can't Sony have a damn momentum?
Whenever you think they're finally on track, terrible news surface. Darn!
Edit: Wait, does it mean that the PS3 has zero RTS in their lineup? :o
And yet they cancel two in production. There's something really wrong inside Sony. First not marketing MGS4 and now this.
Fortunately, the other two consoles are backed up by a solid budget.
It's impossible to feel underwhelmed by the sales of the Xbox 360 in Japan, considering its great RPG library but you gotta give judos to Microsoft for not giving up. On contrary, they keep pushing exclusives in Japanese's genre. But don't get it wrong, this is not only for the Japanese market. These titles are being released WORLDWIDE so it's excellent news for RPG fans all around the world.
