While I haven't played Castlevania, Hitman and Resident Evil 6 were utter pieces of crap compared to the other games in their series, which I'm pretty sure is the reason it was not liked as much by reviewers and the community.
Yeah, this must be the first ever piece of software in history that is released with bugs...
Oh boy, it's this argument yet again. Yes I am aware that what most refer to Linux is usually GNU/Linux, it's usually far simpler to just use terms that people use when communicating as it is obvious that is what they mean. Linux is the widespread name for the 'OS'. Hell, even Linus Torvalds still calls it Linux and he wrote the kernel.
The operating system that powers the majority of devices aside from desktop computers, including the worlds fastest computers.
Did I seriously just read that? Sure, you won't be getting your Killzone in 1080p with VR, but immersive VR has existed for DECADES, consoles will be just fine even if they have to drop the resolution for it.
Ah, what... CoD doesn't have 5 billion copies sold for the franchise, and BF4 alone has sold over 5 million copies...
Do you realise how much 5 billion copies would be? Each game sells like 30 million copies, even if there were say 10 games that all sold 30 million (which they haven't) that's still only 300 million. That's not even 1/3rd of one billion copies, and that isn't even CLOSE to what CoD has.
If you are a troll I don't really...
Do you understand what you are saying? How can it make the hardware better? Can it increase performance? Of course, it can't physically change the hardware. The performance of the hardware is ALWAYS going to stay the same, which is worse than the PS4.
Yes, you can have better software that can theoretically better than software on faster hardware, but two near identical pieces of software, with one running on weaker hardware, will ALWAYS be worse.
Edit: ...
Software doesn't make the hardware better. Anything that can be done via DX can be done via OpenGL and/or other libraries or code.
All this means is it is slightly easier for developers to implement, it's not going to be a game changer.
If you took the time to look at the article for even 5 seconds you would notice that it isn't simply 'plug in and play' he uses software to emulate a 360 controller, which isn't common knowledge to everyone who wishes to try it.
Scroll down the front page to 'hottest games' and note the #1 name and number in comparison to #2. I think you will find there is a clear interest in this game from gamers, whether that be positive or negative interest.

The OUYA was dead before PS4 was even announced. I still wish they actually held true to their word of an open platform. Custom bootloaders would have been nice.
They are NOT 1080p, they are simply 1080 pixels high.
Are you seriously going to tell me that 1x1080 is still 1080p? 1080p is known EVERYWHERE as 1920x1080. It is a 16:9 ratio that has 1080 vertical pixels. You need to stop listening to whoever you are getting your information from, because it is totally incorrect.
"Then there's the competitive multiplayer mode which, like the game's campaign, runs at native 1080p and 60 fps," he later added...
"A resolution does not have to be 1920 x 1080 to be native 1080p."
By definition it does. 1080p literally is 1920x1080. What KZ:SF has is 1080i (interlaced). It was stated that the game was 1080p in MP which it is not. You can spin the words however you want, but 1080p is 1080p.
Here is the very first thing for 1080p on Wiki:
"1080p (aka Full HD/ FHD and BT.709)"
It even uses your buzzword right there.
Yeah it was so bad that nobody even noticed until this thread.

Yeah I hate options, I much prefer only having the option to play one. /s
One must wonder why you would buy a brand new shooter that you would only play a few times, regardless of size.
That resolution argument is as stupid as the "you can't even tell the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS".
Go get a 1080p computer monitor and change it to 720p. Take note on how you CAN see the differences, if you can't I'd recommend you go see an optometrist because you need glasses.
It doesn't take a programmer or developer to know that 1080P/60FPS is better, and totally doable for this game. If Killzone can push it in MP then this game could.
Even the quote says to achieve it they would have had to have done an overhaul of the entire game due to the engine, meaning it was a time/cost problem, not a hardware problem.
Almost all the problems you have named have been network problems, and unfortunately that's just how it is. No companies use enough servers for a massive bloat of users when it drops down to far, far less in a few days. That would be a total waste of money. It's the same reason WoW goes down almost every single time a major patch or expansion releases.
And games looking like crap is the developers fault, not the publisher.
The only real thing I would ...
