No one thinks that BluRay is useless for gaming, because it is. Any disc with that much capacity is useful. BluRay is something that PS3 does right that the 360 does not. The next gen Xbox will run BluRay discs.
However, so far this generation, DVD9 has proven to be enough for 99% of games. For the most part, games run slightly smoother on the 360, not to mention look slightly better because programmers know how to get more out of it. Also, the 360 will never require a half ...
And by funny, I mean retarded.
@hardcorehippiez - When I chose between the 360 and the PS3, I didn't even consider the BluRay. I didn't have an HDTV at the time, and I was more concerned with getting the best games. Not to mention, I like the 360's controller and Live service better. On top of that, all of my closest friends have the 360, and not the PS3. The 360 is the better choice for me and many other people. Maybe the PS3 is the better choice for you.
Another advantage with the 360 is you don't have ...
Kaz, stop squinting. Maybe if you could open your eyes all the way, you'd see that the 360 will have the definitive version of GTA IV.
[laughing at all of the bitter people who hit disagree for the sole reason that this is a pro-Xbox 360 story]
What pathetic, pathetic douches.
Dude, MS and Sony only care about one thing and I don't even have to tell you what it is because you already know.
I enjoy the 360 video download service, but it's nice to have a physical product you can keep, and trade with friends, etc. I plan on getting a BluRay player eventually, maybe in the form of a PS3 once the price lowers a little. The 360 will make an add-on though, they'd be crazy not to. Although if the price is comparable to the cheapest PS3, I'd rather enjoy the best of both worlds.
That being said though, digital distribution is the future, but BluRay will be around for qui...
PS2 sold over 100 million, I think maybe even over 120 million. Of course it will win. However, it won't be as dominant as the PS2. Microsoft kind've dug its own grave by releasing a product with such a high defect rate.
MS is on the right track however. They're gaining in popularity, and they have a good grasp on the #1 market right now. What MS needs to do now is release a BluRay player to decrease the amount of people who want to buy PS3 for its BluRay player.
This game is going to kick major ass. I'm definitely looking forward to it. It doesn't matter if it's as big as Oblivion. I care about the quality, not the quantity.
How about those Patriots :-D
Well then fear not, my friend, because I believe that the 360 is already making a profit!
Many of us 360 guys are happy to see BluRay win. It's the superior format. Don't be surprised to see a 360 BluRay extension in the future. Just like Sony can pay MS money to have its software preinstalled on its computers, MS can make an agreement with Sony to let it support BluRay.
By the way, when you keep saying "BABOONS" and "AHAHAHAHAHHAHA" with every post, you become a one-trick pony, and it makes no one care what you have to say. I'm telling you thi...
Due to the large PS2 fanbase, the 360 is the underdog in this fight. I fully expect the PS3 to finish ahead of 360 sales on a worldwide basis when all is said and done. However, even if Sony "wins" this generation, all is not lost for Microsoft. Considering the HUGE fanbase that the PS2 had compared to Xbox 1, the 360 will have taken a large chunk out of the PS3's fanbase, so no matter what, that will be a victory unto itself. Hopefully the trend will continue for future generat...
Luckily "$$$$$" is something that MS has plenty of.
Sleepy is right. Overall it has sold more on PS3, however, this past week the 360 sold more, according to VG charts.
The most popular shooter right now, COD 4, has sold over twice as much on the 360 as the PS3. I believe that this does somewhat reflect the gaming tastes between the two consoles.
That's why I said "a bunch of" and not all. Sorry if you feel stereotyped. Stereotypes aren't true for everyone, but they exist for a reason. My comment is true. If this had happened on Live, no matter whose fault, a bunch of Sonytards would crucify it.
As far as the new wave of customers over the Christmas season, maybe they thought they had enough bandwidth. I'm sure they added some before the holidays. Not everything that goes wrong is their fault.

"Some might believe that fanboys display the sin of pride. However, if you consider the psychology of fanboyism, it is more likely envy that fuels the bitter tirades on message boards. Envy is as much about wanting what another has as it is about your own insecurities."
This explains why there are so many more Sony fanboys on this website. They want the 360's gaming library as well as the better version of multiplatform games!
On a serious note however, bo...
No GETPWNED, it's just that there's a huge number of pimply faced geek Sony supporters on this website that disagree with anyone who has an anti-Sony comment. If you can't acknowledge that as of right now the 360 has a superior game library, then you're blind.
As far as the PS3 showing its true power, it still won't be for awhile. Just like THWIP, I'm too busy playing with my 360 and all of its AAA titles to care about picking up a PS3 right now. Maybe once it's cheaper and it...
Xhairs, do you honestly think that the next Xbox won't have a disc drive. And if it does have one (which it will), do you think they would have DVD9? No, they'll use BluRay, since it's the winning format.
Yes, MS is looking to increase their DD business, but they'll also want a disc drive in their next console. It would hurt it sales-wise not to.
"Stop crediting yourself and look at your own post and call yourself something other than a fan boy, I dare you....
