No they can't, everybody was saying how silky smooth the gameplay of the early Halo build was and how great it looked at 60fps, then it was tested and ran at 45-58 fps and only hit 60 briefly.
Where were those super-keen eyes then?
The inability to tell the difference between 900p and 1080p is a fanboy myth and not a "proven fact".
Native 1080p has a crisper, clearer image, that is a fact.
The Witcher has very different gameplay mechanics to Until Dawn.
That's why the Witcher was left virtually unplayable with a low framerate whilst Until Dawn is perfectly playable with no problems.
N64 games cost up to £120.00 (3x the RRP of a AAA PS1 game), because of cartridges. I can't see people paying £180.00 for a game nowadays (after adjusting for inflation).
If Nintendo does use carts the console itself would be weak or the cartridges would have to have huge capacities which is costly.
A cartridge for an average sized PS4 game would cost about 10x that of a PS3 game (going on capacity required).
SD cards make more ...
That's a stupid comment. Consoles will always be pushed to their limits at every stage of the generation. The limits change over time as the intricacies of the hardware are more clearly understood.
All consoles are pushed to 100% by devs, its just what that 100% denotes that changes over time.
The 50% more powerful console consistently displays 40% more pixels than its rival with more effects and better textures. XBone would struggle to perform this well at 900p.
Well it obviously isn't unacceptable as those who played it without knowing the framerate thought it looked and played beautifully.
It would only become unacceptable if it hampered the game or affected it in a negative way which it doesn't.
Or maybe people should stop enjoying the game now that they know the framerate?
@RPGrinder
So you are happy that Nintendo sells pointless crap at extortionate prices and milks its fans with licensed tat that has nothing to do with videogames and everything to do with marketing?
^^^
And Microsoft only has the Windows monopoly because IBM made a mistake whilst writing the contract.
Such a huge company that has done nothing successfully except get lucky with being allowed to keep the rights to windows (they would have taken any contract IBM offered them at the time).
It's not a fact just because you say so. Do a little research and you'll see how stupid and misinformed your comment is.
I prefer Bloodborne to DarkSouls and Until Dawn to telltale games so by your logic your argument collapses.
No Microsoft game interests me so does that mean they have NO great exclusives?
I wouldn't presume to say that for one moment.
They have a lot more games than MS, what are you on about?
The whole of Microsoft's existence as anything other than a footnote in history is down to a mistake that IBM made in a contract decades ago.
If IBM had kept the rights to windows (which would have been very easy), Microsoft would have been defunct years ago.
All their wealth is based on one single mistake, nothing else they do is successful.
And that is what you base their worth on?
Sony have earned every penny they own ...
You are an idiot! The Halo franchise? That one must have hurt you badly when you plucked it out of your arse.
Try reading a little before spewing out such completely confused misinformation.
I can do it too;
Microsoft is run by Pirates, they spent all their money on a new Pirate ship and now have only $57.00 in the coffers.
Sony's toilet attendant takes more in tips than Microsoft's entire corporation.
@Autofire
Your reasoning is flawed. The truth is you'll pay more for upgrades on your PC over the life cycle of a console than most console owners spend on games.
Because he is an arrogant moron. The only reason people hate the guy and want him to fail is because he's a loudmouthed dick head, that perception is down to him alone.
The game looks pretty good (if a bit generic), so the gamer inside people wants to play it. It doesn't mean people suddenly like him or have forgiven him for being such a twat, just that they want to play his game.
Free to play is probably the best chance for this game as I know severa...
It came out on PS1 (1995). Consoles also have a long history with these games.
I hope this gets a console port eventually. I love XCOM games but don't like gaming on PC much.
Cliff fought everybody, developers, his fanbase, logic (at times) and modesty. Did he win? I doubt that MORE people will buy his game because he is an obnoxious loudmouth, so I'm not so sure.
"Stop being so judgemental"?
We are talking about Cliffy B here. He is THE most judgemental character in gaming today.
Are you saying that we SHOULDN'T treat him in the exact same way he treats everyone else? He pops up every now and then to trash talk other peoples games, but when he vomits up one of his own we should all treat him with the highest respect?
What a strange thought.
Investing in your future and spending money frivolously are very different things.
You have to speculate to accumulate. Nintendo don't invest in videogames but have no problem investing in dolls. Maybe they're in the wrong business.
