The game is the best looking Xbox game I've seen. MS should sell the IP, they won't be using it themselves.
If people aren't excited and looking forward to the game, they have every right to disagree with the comment whether they be Sony fans or Xbox fans.
Is it sad that people don't agree with him?
They missed a trick by not getting him to design the thing. Can you imagine how Krazy it would be?
Yep, lack of diversity on Xbox is a great, just give them another shooter, and if that fails, another shooter.
Xbox is for shooting, racing and fighting?
More like shooting, shooting, shooting, Forza, shooting and Killer Instinct.
How dare they try and give you a new experience? Kill it off (and good riddance).
@poppinslops
I don't know what you've been reading, but I read it was down to extreme pressure and poor communication from MS's end.
Spencer says it's best for the gamers and suddenly everyone hates on the title (which has been hailed as one of the great upcoming Xbox exclusives on this site for a long time).
If Spencer said tomorrow "Halo has always been overrated so we decided to kill the franchise, it's in the best interest of gamers", some would defend that position vehemently and trash talk Halo to kingdom come.
It's just the mentality of some of their fans....
Of course it's a loss. It was one of the only games on Xbox that wasn't just another shooter.
It's a loss for Xbox diversity if nothing else.
@Nix
What a load of rubbish you talk. This was the most interesting game coming for Xbox1.
"So we didn't miss anything. We just did not get another substandard uninteresting game like Recore. "
My guess is that you came to that conclusion after the Messiah said cancelling it is what's best for gamers.
He was wrong and so are you. This was the only Microsoft IP that I had any interest in whatsoever.
...
@Darth
I think the Scorpio has taken the lion's share of this year's budget and as it is MS's top priority right now, any overspend would have to be made back from software development.
Scalebound was probably the least ready, so the first to go.
@MasterCornholio
Yep, VR on Scorpio will have a tough time of it (with all the "gimmick" and "pointless" comments from Xbox fans).
Of course I know it was nothing but bluster over one of the competitors USP's. I expect a lot will have a sudden "change of heart" when VR is on Scorpio.
It is Platinum Games you're talking about, they don't produce bad games. Apparently the breakdown was something to do with the terrible treatment they were getting from Microsoft.
I don't know the details but those in the know have confirmed as much.
They seem to be putting all their efforts into Scorpio and skimping on game/developer support this year.
One cent is currently 0.785 pence, you're trying to con him out of 0.43 pence you scoundrel.
@Foxtrot
I agree, check out this tweet on the matter from an Xbox fan;
"Obviously the cancelation sucks but he's still doing a great job and said it's for the better"
You could murder their entire family, as long as Spencer says "it's for the better" they'd be cool with it.
Obviously it isn't all Xbox fans, but it is sad that some except whatever they're told without questio...
Throwing hissy fits isn't classy. Everyone was banging on about how great Scalebound was going to be, it gets cancelled and suddenly it was always going to suck anyway.
I always said Scalebound wouldn't sell on XB1, I thought I was speaking figuratively though.
Platinum are top notch devs, don't downplay it too fervently, it is a real loss.
BWJ's are scared of women and can only deal with them in cartoons and video games.
Apparently dicks can breed (and they're talking over).
^^^BWJ remark right there^^^
It was the only Xbox IP I had any interest in.
