I can show you 6 or 7 articles stating that the DS4 is better than X1 controller, can't find a single one stating the opposite.
Both are apparently better than the 360 controller, so don't worry too much, you'll still be getting a good controller (nothing wrong with playing second fiddle).
Even die-hard Xbox fans say DS4 is better (the ones who have actually used one that is).

Now that would be *really* interesting, but would cause WWIII on the n4g forums, it's bad enough when they all use the same company. It would produce some big differences in architecture though, the thought scares me slightly.

PC is not a set system so to use your own analogy, PC is equal to anything from a 50cc moped to a Lamborghini Veyron. The average PC is a lot closer to next gen consoles than you would care to admit (probably slightly less powerful).

HDTV's are so cheap nowadays, if you can't afford one then you won't be able to afford a PS4.
If you have multiple TV's (and some aren't HD), get a cheap converter.
It doesn't make sense to add legacy inputs to a machine when such a tiny minority require it (it just adds to the cost).
Of course pre-orders mean something, they're an expression of an intent to buy which is the best.and only real way of judging a products popularity prior to release.
But then your use of a double negative (Don't mean nothing = means something), shows that you are aware of this already....(either that or you are indeed a bit dumb).

Well if you look back at previous 3d *headsets*, there have been several lawsuits. Virtual Boy made so many people sick they had to stop selling it (I know that Nintendo had lawsuits in several countries with that).
It is quite different from 3D cinema in many ways, as I'm sure you know. I hope I am wrong, I genuinely do, but my faith in human nature is obviously lower than yours.
Still want to experience it for myself though, sounds amazing.

I think I read that the PS4 will have a 6x blu-ray. Could be mistaken though.
7200 HDD's produce more heat than 5400's, that's why they were not recommended for PS3 (although many used them). A 5400 is a safer bet for a confined space, but you may feel the advantages of the faster drive outweigh the risks.
When it does release, there's going to be a whole lot of fraudsters jumping on it with one thing in mind...
