@Gwave
Hi Gwave. Amongst my reading list I've read a lot of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, it was the source of much of the 'Bioshock on PS3' stories. Originally Bioshock was labelled as a multiplatform game then Xbox exclusive. Ken Levine then said a lot of things to back this up. However, when Bioshock was officially announced as being released for the PS3 last year, there was an article by the OPM-UK editorial team that said there was some meat to this story(I will try ...
Simple but clever. Now when I need a morale boost I can make my own 'You Chose Wisely' trophy. Sweet!
I've been waiting for a meaty JRPG and it will likely take months for a western conversion. Does anyone know if it has English subtitles/text option?
The Street Fighter II HD remix was a great idea because it updated one of my favourite classic games with some new graphics. Like theTwelve says, it was a great way to warm-up/ create interest for SF IV. But UK/Europe didn't get it. I did play the demo on Xbox Live and loved it, but for fighting games I prefer the PS d-pad so I decided to wait...
..and what has happened? Capcom release SFII the day before the official release of SF IV. I actually received my copy of SF IV through...
One game I'm still waiting for Nintendo to put on the virtual console is Pilotwings 64.It had great playability, and back in the day I used to love hang-gliding near the lighthouse against the backdrop of a sunset red sky. Why the hold up? I bet i'm not the only one who wants to play this classic again!
Although the British and the Americans speak the same language (kinda) there is actually quite a big cultural divide. However listening to these N4G podcasts, the show has really grown on me. The guys are really, REALLY into their games and it shows. When their friend, an occasional guest, is on it is really funny because he brings a new, lively dynamic to proceedings. Being an American show the programme is normally focused mostly on Xbox but the guys have a good attitude towards PlayStation...
Since launch I think the Blog has been a great success in centralising the voice of PlayStation to the community, and it keeps improving.
I have requested PSN ID card integration with live TROPHY updates & PC to PS3 messaging!
Last year we (finally) got in-game XMB and Trophies, what will we get this year? I'm betting on big messaging improvements come Firmware 3.0. I can't wait!
I've got the OPM UK magazine, the 45 minutes comment is not about loading times. It is about the last battle being difficult.
What it actually says is "...there are occasional, brief screen-freezing load pauses and you can probably knock a good 45 minutes off the eight-hour running time if you ignore the horrible difficulty spike right at the end." Which I interpret as meaning the last fight is really, really hard.
Having read the full review, the words sho...
I bought the game for the Xbox 360 because it was getting DLC and had achievements, but my Elite RROD so I got a swap for the ps3 version.
Trophies/Achievements dont make a game, but with a game that you can put so many hours into (130+ for Oblivion) its nice to have this pat on the back. Sure some American game developers find it easier to make games on the 360, but longevity is about serving all your customers and adding trophies, and fixing bugs is the right thing to do. Look ...
Bioshock was a fantastic game on the Xbox 360.
Bioshock is also fantastic game on the PlayStation 3.
DLC has been released for this modern great. Kotaku slate it. Why?
-Because it hasn't been released on their beloved 360. It is a real shame that a big USA website is run by gamers who are patriotic to a console made in the USA.
Kotaku writers are entitled to love the 360, but they should also try not to spin news against the others consoles. Kotaku should recogn...
I pre-ordered the Fable II collector's edition from Zavvi, a big retail chain here in the UK. Unfortunately they didn't have a business deal with Microsoft so I didn't get a Pub Games code.
Considering I did everything a loyal consumer could do; I paid out for the Fable II CE, I pre-ordered a month in advance, I really should also be entitled to the code. So its crazy that I cant get the 1000 achievements. The game is great, and Im hoping Microsoft make it free soon.
"I think it was absolutely the right thing to do, because LittleBigPlanet set out from day one to be a game for the entire world - and if there was anything that accidentally detracted from that vision and made the game not fun for the entire world, then the game would have fundamentally failed in its mission."
He makes a fantastic point. It is a game not just for the west, it is an inclusive game for all the world. Having played the beta, I am disappointed that I have ...
A friend's friend of mine only has the use of one hand, it doesn't stop him from playing computer and video games. What is a barrier is lazy programmers who only implement one or two sets of button controls. Invariably these fixed plans make certain games unplayable. I know it is unintentional, but it is discriminating against those with special needs. Why be lazy? Every game should have 100% customisable controls for those who have disabilities.
Tesco didn't just take pre-orders, they took our money which makes (i think) a legal sale. Therefore they should honour the deal. Everyone affected should complain to BBC watchdog - it wont be the first time they have covered a videogame story...

Maximus Prime I respect your opinion. But for Brits who intend to buy Fable II CE, the story is not lame.

This game reminds me of Heroquest which was a family friendly version of Warhammer Roleplay. It did big business in Europe. Anyway this new Halo game has a simple map and uses a PC for stats/sound effects. Which makes you wonder if the kids using a PC would much rather play the real thing?!
If it was made into a real board game, ie a physical object, which the whole family could sit around the table and play, it would be a stronger product.
It's a great UK forum that has built up a strong community and it's a shame it will be closed by the globalisation of Future.
Gamesradar UK, you will be missed.
EDIT: from its ashes a new forum has been made that a lot of users have already migrated to. http://www.grcade.com/
The game includes references to Nintendo including Banjo playing on a Gameboy. The most obvious thing would be for Microsoft to remove these references of a competitor- but they're not, and Im glad they're not!
Why should they? The game is a piece of history (10 years is a long time in gaming) and those references are part of a historical game. It's not as if people playing the game from XBLA will suddenly decide to sell their 360 to buy a Nintendo 64/Gameboy is it?! So a good mo...
Wow! PlayStation 3 fans have been waiting a long, long time for these but they are finally here and they look the absolute business!
I wasn't bothered about manually updating my trophies on PlayFire.com. But now I have a Trophy card that I can proudly display next to my Xbox Gamercard. My trophies, my level, my 3 most recently played games. Sweet! Now I wonder what Sony will bring us next?!
