Square-Enix have got FFXI running fine on LIVE, so what is the barrier that makes FFIV on LIVE a closed system?
see above.
Having watched it I was stunned that the entire focus was the Kinetics stuff. I mean demo after demo of party game crap. Microsoft normally have great E3s but that was one of the worst.
Giving away a free 360 to all attending journos is fantastic PR. But will they all now write how brilliant the Kinetics is?
No really. It's logical that they are bringing out an Xbox slim, but what about another premium model that includes a blu-ray drive for playing movies?
PocketStation, allowed you to nurture your FF Chocobo away from your PS2. It didn't take of, but the concept of a separate portable console is one that will grow. Look at the PSP and PS3, and look at the Windows 7 phone and how it will connect with Xbox Live.
Nintendo released the Virtual Boy, a 3D style console. It was a massive fail, but this was not a failure. It was proof of a company that didn't want to be pedestrian in its console development, it was proof of a ...
Ha ha ha! Now I see this man has a sense of humour and I like it. A bit of cheeky one-upmanship.
But seriously though, I loved Resistance 1, but R2 didn't work for me. Playing the Halo Reach beta, I can't wait for the full game. I know Bungie with the Halo franchise, have delivered what is one of the best multiplayer FPS gaming experiences ever. Somehow, I get the feeling that Jack Tretton is happier about this than Major Nelson.
Why did Sony reveal Killzone 3 and LBP2 to magazines, when there could have been some real excitement if they were all a surprise reveal at E3? Now when they show LBP2 or KZ3 footage it might look great, but it won't have the impact of a first reveal. I hope they are keeping something back (not just Resistance 3).
In this generation there is a roughly split in market between the 360 and PS3, so multi-format makes sense for developers. But when Epic keep Gears of War a 360 exclusive, or Insomniac keep their games PS3 exclusive, then they are doing it because they have a financial or contractual reason for doing so.
Big, clean, pure, simple design. It looks fab!
The review overall is very, very positive - although I think it's crazy to criticise Kratos for being violent, because that's what he's all about.
I've got this on pre-order. God of War III is gonna be epic.
An excellently reviewed game.
Love from gamers and journalists alike.
But still no European release.
I know SCEE are concerned about whether it will have appeal in the EU but surely a bit of advertising will get the message to the masses.
Crazy isn't it?
I'm not sure how you collated that chart, but IF it is accurate then it paints a pretty damning portrait of consistent bias. It's actually shocking. :(
Quantic Dreams have made this game 'Heavy Rain' and are trying to deliver a new video game experience. Destructoid instead of praising QD for taking a new artistic direction complain about it - presumably they are upset that it is not another forumlaic FPS or platformer.
As gamers we have to wait until Heavy Rain launches to see whether it fulfils its promise, but risky games like Flower, Braid and Heavy Rain are to be celebrated for trying to take gaming in new directions. Not a...
Okay I know it's nearly two years since release, but surely it doesn't cost too much to implement and Konami recognise that this leads to replayability/more sales, and the fans really want a Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy update?
I don't see why Sony need to create another brand name for this service. They should stick to PlayStation Network. Then it becomes a bigger and more ubiquitous brand. Look at what Apple have done with iTunes, films, music, videos, books. PSN is good, they just need to spread the word.
See-through screens can be used as a heads-up display in car, planes, trains whatever. All the info you need, speed, fuel etc, without having to look down. A great idea. But one other use is pretending you are working on your laptop whilst secretly spying some hottie through the screen. I'm not saying that I'd do it, but someone will...
The PlayStation 2 is a fantastic console with a great range of games. Ico and Final Fantasy X-2 are my favourites. It's just that all the consoles; Gamecube, Xbox and PlayStation 2 are beginning to show their age. I think it's time we move to a new generation. I've heard Sony have given the new console a temporary name, PlayStation 3, but personally I think they will actually give it something a bit more original like PlayStation Power or PlayStation 360. I bet it will have voice control, wil...
MORE goodness!
Uncharted 2 was released at the end of October. Which means if a gamer didn't buy it in the first two weeks of being on sale, when they did go to buy a game there are a lot more games on the shelves, to compete with when there is only a finite amount of spending money. EG Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, FIFA Football, Dragon Age.
Next time, Sony should release Uncharted 3 in a less crowded month. August 2011 sounds okay to me!
I wish i read your comment first. If somebody lies/gets their facts wrong about this app being an official MS app then it makes me suspicious. I hope it is not a SCAM app used to get LIVE details. Anyone know?
