Weren't you just talking about communism? You want new laws imposed on the private sector and you want to step away from "communism"?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you don't know what you are talking about.

While the idea Valve can cut you off from your games is disconcerting, people need to be clear about what you are agreeing to.

You CAN still sue Valve. You CANNOT join a class suit. If you were going to sue valve for compensation, a class suit is NOT they way to go since you won't likely get anything out of it anyway.

I think Valve needs to make it so you have total access to your games minus the service they provide should you not agree.

@voxelman
I am aware of the teams changing, it happens all the time in the industry.

The real change came after Ward left. This is when it was decided they would only be developing in house.

LA is the studio developing 1313, working with ILM. And they don't seem to have changed their position. This same crap happened with TFU. Everybody was so sure it was coming to PC. Then, LA announced the platforms and when they mentioned the Wii and the DS p...

People expected well written ending not a completely contrived plot full of holes. A trilogy with no resolution, I really didn't see that one coming. They couldn't even stitch together a coherent sequence for the end.

Seriously, if BioWare really believed in that abomination they wouldn't have changed it.

This exactly.

People don't realize that there is a difference between making sequels and planning a trilogy. Trilogies end. In being very clear they were making a trilogy meant the series would have an end. NOT more questions.

TFU 1 came out a year later, TFU 2 was released at the same time both were ported by a different company. LucasArts didn't touch the PC versions.

They were only released because the risk was low. For TFU, the debut title, they already made their money so releasing it on PC was a bonus. TFU 2 was thrown together at the last minute with very little effort to milk the franchise as much as possible. Despite the beliefs of many TFU wasn't planned to be a trilogy, hence th...

Another difference is the optional Hardcore mode in War Z. This, to me, is the biggest difference and one that makes me suspect they will be vastly different games.

I don't play Day Z, nor do I want to. I know I wouldn't have any fun playing it. And that is why I love it so much. It doesn't try to convince me to play it. There are no concessions made for me as a gamer. That is how it should stay. The day it tries to get a gamer like me to play will be a sad day. M...

It was demoed on a PC, its unlikely there will be a PC version. Maybe a port after release. LA doesn't develop for PC anymore and 1313 is an in house project.

RAGE is an okay game with so-so visuals, absolutely nothing about it was spectacular. If that was the best they could do I wonder what Doom 4 will be like.

If "drivers" give you that big of a headache its a wonder you can get out of bed in the morning.

We get it you like your console.

Console people always make the PC seem far more complicated than it really is. Most just make stuff up. Its really not rocket science, but if you want to say it is, then I'll take that as a compliment.

I would prefer SR4 to be like SR2. I liked SR3 but I felt there was so much missing. There was so much more to do in SR2, which is why I personally liked it more than GTA4. Also the SR3 DLC was the type of DLC Im not a fan of. I prefer expansions, especially ones that take place during or add to the main plot, instead of being tacked on the end.

Since I don't know anything substantial about GTA5 I can't really say which I will prefer.

Not if they failed to do what they set out to do. You don't spend $200 to $500 million to create an average MMO. You spend that much to compete directly with WoW. In that sense it was a failure.

The game itself has not failed as a game, but it failed as an investment. It failed to become EA's WoW, which was one of the reasons it was created.

The goal was never to make a new Star Wars MMO. That could have been done at a fraction of the price. The goal...

When you take away the secondary story arcs, which were very well written, you are left with a absurdly contrived plot which leads to even more contrivances. It really showed that BioWare was completely lost on how to end the series' main arc(the Reapers) and relied a series contrived plot devices, rather than good writing. Lack of time and poor planning are to blame. I also think Drew Karpyshyn leaving may have played a bigger part as well.

This, in a nutshell, is the bi...

I surprised anyone remembers Derek Smart. He does deserve a place on the list though. His ideas had potential, but to achieve that he would have had to navigate around that giant ego.

So whats wrong with waiting till release? Why would they have lied about it in the first place?

Its one thing to be show a bunch of videos and get no comment from Ubisoft. But they did comment, so if they lied then everyone would have found out when it was released. Of course that means gamers have to shut their wallets until the Colonist kills are confirmed, which is asking a lot.

Frankly the whole controversy was silly. Not the one about killing only Redcoa...

While not the biggest reason, not having a space sim certainly hasn't helped it.

The game itself hasn't failed the idea failed. It tried too hard to compete on WoW's turf. Same thing happened to SWG, WoW was huge and LA wanted a piece, thus the NGE. Once LA knew they weren't going to achieve that, they gave up, and SWG got a little better in the end. EA tried to use the WoW recipe and add BioWare, the Star Wars franchise, and a huge budget in the hopes they w...

Exactly.

Especially considering the amounts you are dealing with on a case by case basis. You aren't going to sue Valve for more than a couple thousand dollars at most, which they will totally settle for if you win. In a class suit you may end up getting nothing, while the lawyer sizable chunk of the settlement.

Point is if you want to sue Valve you are better off going solo.
