Shifting from stupid DRM to saying 90% of your PC customers are criminals doesn't seem like a step in the right direction.

Ubisoft fooled me once, not happening again.

Not trying to kill it, but certainly trying to control it like they control the Xbox. GFWL was their attempt to gain control of the PC gaming market but it failed right out of the gate so they stopped trying.

Their eyes are on the mobile market now.

But no, they were never trying to kill PC gaming.

Its a mod. Not a fully developed game with a support staff.

The fact that it had a million players is an amazing achievement. Even fully developed games would have a problem supporting a million players.

Steam does not equal the entire PC platform. If you want a porn game you can get it in other places besides Steam.

If you ran a photo studio should you be forced to do pornography?

I don't disagree with your previous point just that Valve not selling porn is, somehow, a problem.

The idea it was valid at all was a myth. Everyone was so busy looking at the consoles they really never saw what was happening on the PC. The assumption was that the PC and consoles shared, basically, the same pool of gamers. This was always untrue.

Console gamers(not all, but many) think that because a game is exclusive to console that the PC has lost a title. There are whole genres on PC that won't ever go to console. The PC may have a smaller player-base than console, ...

Aren't these the same folks who complained that too many gamers were finishing games?

Adding more health or higher damage to enemies is not more complicated. There are options for a reason. Some like a challenge and some don't. The quality of a games depends on those playing it. Is it ruined if someone plays the game on "easy mode" and enjoys it?

One of the screenshots in the article is from Risen, not Risen 2.

And if you think the pigs were hard in this game, try Gothic 3 minus the community patch. Retuning home after slaying 1000 Orks only to cross paths with a boar that spams KD till you are dead:P

It depends on the game and whether or not it becomes more of a hassle for the sake of difficulty. Games can have it and still be difficult.

It doesn't have to be one or the other IMO.

I have little love for EA, but I am not sure that if they were sold they would end up getting better. More likely the bad "decision makers" would be replaced different yet equally bad (or worse) "decision makers".

I also don't that anyone would be better off if they ceased to exist. A lot of good IPs could go with them. Not just the ones that they are currently publishing but others that they own the rights to as well. They could sell the rights, sure,...

I am all for pushing PC tech, but I am not sure the racing genre is the best to do that.

FPS becomes crucial when speed and precision are involved. I am NOT saying they should cut back on visuals, but instead focus more on smooth performance.

To be clear I am NOT saying they shouldn't push PC tech, but that FPS drops in a racing game may be more noticeable.

I assume that it will have more options for visual settings, so it won't be t...

Wonder if it will be on Steam. Hope so.

EDIT: It is, I am just blind.

Seems that people misunderstood what I was saying. That's my fault.

What I meant was, that while ArmA 1 and 2 (OFP) are great games, they cater to very select crowds. And that to see it on a someones "must-have" article who is new to the PC no less, is rather surprising. Not undeserved by any means.

I know it has to do with DAYZ, but are the fans of ArmA honestly going to tell me they don't chuckle at the fact that its gaining so much mainst...

I must say, I never thought I would see ArmA 2 on anyone's "must have" list.

Well now I can sleep better at night knowing the Iranians can't play WoW. Whew, we really dodged a bullet there.

/sarcasm

That would really piss me off. Sorry guys.

More like Valve hired the folks with the ideas.

I really don't know why there is a blackout on HL3 but I am sure there is a reason beyond just Steam and other titles.

My theory; Valve was burned once with the source leak. As they started work on Episode 3 something changed. Probably decided against the episodic releases and decided to go with a full sequel. But the FPS market exploded after HL2 with the release of 360/PS3, so they might have had to rethi...

Wondering when someone would mention that.

My experience was that there was a glitch and 1 water tower was missing. This was the PC version and I don't know if it was ever fixed or if it was just my problem. All I know is I was able to get to 99.98%.

Ended up having to get a map that read your save game file to find the missing water tower and it wasn't there at all. It took so long to find all the stuff in that game.

Should just cut to credits when you hit the beam. Since apparently its cool to end a trilogy without a resolution. Some folks are are just too advanced for silly stuff like proper dramatic arches. Leave that to the to those lesser folks with their "books" and other archaic media.

Yay nonsense and grimdark! Because the only thing better than feeling like crap, is to be confused at the same time!

LA is great at 2 things; making bad decisions and completely ignoring whatever fanbase they have left.
