Indeed, you are correct. Many Kickstarter projects end up this way. And to add a point of reference to this, many of the projects on Kicktraq (a site used for seeing Kickstarter funding data and predicted funding estimations), show how a myriad of other projects also had the same kind of funding trends.

I definitely agree with you man. I've spent probably hundreds of hours on UC2's multiplayer. Between that, Demon's Souls and Killzone 2, those were among some of my favorite multiplayer experiences last generation. Even outside of competitive play, one of my friends and I would take on each of the co-op levels, trying our best to run them 2-man instead of 3, and on the hardest difficulty. Lots of fun.
So I was holding out a bit of hope that they would make a surpr...
Oh for sure, and no worries at all. I understood what you originally meant, and I definitely agree with it. I was just lending a bit of side thought on the specifics regarding the lower sales right now for the campaign.
As for myself, I actually have donated to 15 or 16 projects so far, and for all of the projects that have released or have a beta that I was able to try, they've turned out really well. The main thing is, I always do my homework on the companies and people...
@rainslacker I would agree, you are definitely accurate in your assertions there. I believe though that the real problems with the lessened and slower funding for this specific project stem from several other areas. Specifically, the lack of a plan for console releases (and other OS's) from the beginning of the campaign, starting the campaign around and during several other large Kickstarter projects, and launching two simultaneous projects (one for the anime and one for the game).
Yeah, I thought it was weird as well. Especially because of the lack of "info". There's no Overview, Recent Activity, or Related Items showing up. So I hope that's just a hiccup and that they offer titles like these a bit of promotion on the PS store. I'm just starting playing it now, and it's a lot of fun.
Thanks for mentioning the demo in your comment. I've been wanting to try Deception IV on PS4, but I actually had no idea there was a demo available. I couldn't find it anywhere on the PS4's Store, and even searching for Deception on there only brings up the PS3 version. The only way I could find it was by using the PC browser version of the PS store. Strangely, even after getting the demo added and it appearing in my library, there still doesn't seem to be the normal info abou...
I think there are two key factors which are hurting their Kickstarter right now, number one being that they are targeting a PC-Steam only release (no PS4/XBO, Mac, Linux, or SteamOS release planned), and they decided to launch their project right around a lot of other large Kickstarter projects.
Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but for myself I had played Mega Man Legends 1, 2, and a bit of Tron Bonne back on PS1. So even though I have a very capable PC, I'd pre...
Sure thing. I know for a lot of people they are skeptical about Kickstarter, and given some the shenanigans that have been pulled over the years, it's not surprising. But I'd say it has a lot in common with the regular games industry, and by contrast has a bit of an undeserved stigma by contrast.
When you figure there are normal developers and publishers who generally have the consumers' interest as a focus, then there's some who will always disappoint and ta...
So far I've contributed to 15 different game projects on Kickstarter, and I have yet to be disappointed. Most commonly, the only real problem or downfall that has happened to the games I've back were/are delays during development. So while they might not always deliver on time, they tend to be exceptional quality with a ton of long-term support. The main thing is, I think it's important to just do a bit of research on the people/company handling it before backing a project. Knowin...
I think that since they now offer a physical PS4 version, you can actually get that at the $250 tier and above. From what they said, it sounds like even people that pledged for the physical PC version before don't need to change their pledge if they want the PS4 version, as a survey will be going out later to find out what platform each person wants for their physical or digital release.
And as for the tier, it's a bit pricey but that does come with a decent amount of...
No problem bud. The game series is actually a lot of fun. If you tend to enjoy JRPGs, action RPGs, open worlds games and/or action oriented anime, the game has a lot of features centered around those ideas. The combat is fast paced and action oriented, a bit more like a Kingdom Hearts title than most of the Final Fantasy series (though that still isn't quite accurate), but that's the closest it comes to comparing to another title. Meanwhile, the rest of the Tales series' content h...
Right now Berseria has only been announced for PS3 and PS4. However, Zesteria's western release was announced to be coming to PS3, PS4, and PC, when previously in Japan is was only released on PS3. My best guess would be that they are wanting to gauge possible interest from the PC crowd for the series, if they were to release any future Tales titles on the platform. So depending on Zesteria's performance may indicate if Berseria or others end up on there as well.
I actually suggested that exact idea already on Sega's forums, but a number of the other community members thought that it sounded too unlikely and wouldn't happen. I still think the idea would make a lot of sense, offering a sizable profit to Sega without too much investment, and offering the potential for new fans to more easily enter the series.
Given how many titles there are, I think they could make two or possibly even three collections on PS4. The main entries...
The one newer tidbit of info is that it is confirmed to be coming to the Americas in 2015 (not actually in the trailer, but shown in the description beneath it). According to the commenters, they are saying that they will be releasing a proper new trailer in 8 days. I guess there's some info on Neogaf about it, regarding the "Persona 4 Dancing All Night Limited Edition" having a video with it that will be the new trailer for Persona 5.
I haven't checked muc...
Personal opinion, but I think Absolution was the worst one so far and not a great intro to the series. Like N0TaB0T said, Blood Money, Contracts, or even going back to Hitman 2: Silent Assassin would probably provide a better experience.
Absolution took a lot of strange approaches to their designs. I believe that one of the worst ones was replacing the save system with checkpoints. In older Hitman titles, you could save anywhere during a mission, but depending on the difficu...
I have a slightly differing opinion. I actually think this series could be a flagship for Sega, or at the very least it could post closer to the cult-hit numbers that a game like Bloodborne does if they actually did put some sort of marketing together for it and planned out the release dates a little better.
Looking back, Sega hasn't really put much together in terms of marketing a Yakuza title in the west since Yakuza 3, and even then their efforts weren't very subs...
The original Symphonia is one of my favorite JRPGs. Beyond what SteamPowered mentioned, the gameplay is a lot like the other Tales of series, with a deep system for action-RPG style combat, a myriad of characters to choose from, a large world map to explore, secret weapons/items/scenes/etc., and much more. The game features many of my personal favorite voice actors, but two in general stick out: Cam Clarke (recognizable for Liquid Snake, Leonardo from original TMNT, and Kanaeda from the 1989 ...

According to the information there, Valve is actually taking the full lion's share of 75% for themselves, while leaving the other 25% to be split between the publisher/developer (in this case, Bethesda), and the modder. So in a best case scenario, the modder gets 25%, while theoretic...
Back when the first PS3 Atelier title came out, I was hesitant on the series, especially after watching some videos of gameplay. However, after sitting down and actually experiencing the games on my own, my perception was entirely different. The Atelier games are a lot of fun, mixing together a variety of different elements to make a pretty enjoyable title.
They're pretty light-hearted overall, so as long as you understand that the stories aren't going to be too seri...
As an original BOI fan, it was fun giving this a few run-throughs. Having a solid 60fps definitely helped with the fluidity of gameplay. However, that being said, I have to say that I really didn't find Rebirth as enjoyable as the original BOI/WOTL for one key factor that changed: Sound.
All of the music and sound effects were completely changed for the release of Rebirth, and in many cases I believe that it hurt the game more than helped. The original soundtrack provide...
