Sadly, this isn't surprising at all to me. I used to shop with Newegg relatively frequently as I previously did freelance IT work building PCs and getting tech for individuals and businesses that needed it. They actually had put me in this same situation twice that I can recall in the past with PC hardware, where it was listed "New" but obviously had been used parts. To make matters worse, their customer service is almost the absolute worst I've ever dealt with, right next t...

Yeah, I'd agree with Ozymandsss. Yakuza 3 is a great way to start the franchise. It's the first Yakuza on PS3 that was localized, and there are extended videos explaining the events of Yakuza 1 and 2 inside of the game. There might be a few more "rough edges" with that one, but I felt that Yakuza 3 had one of the strongest stories in the franchise which really made it stand out, plus two cities to explore. In Yakuza 3 you also exclusively control Kiriyu Kazuma for the durati...

I'll throw my vote in here for Yakuza Zero, even though it's just receiving localization finally. If that doesn't count since it technically came out this year, I'd say that Persona 5 is my most anticipated for next year.

Yeah, I was actually about to mention that in the other article. Although Psychonauts will always be one of my favorite platformers and remain a very memorable game, there are some significant things to keep in mind about how Tim has conducted his company and himself over recent years which has made many like myself lose confidence in this game as quickly as it was announced.

For anyone looking for points of reference, look at how SpaceBase DF-9 was handled. With anyone who b...

Seems like they're already sold out on both Dragon Quest and Tomb Raider. It says "currently unavailable" on Amazon on both listings. It's also worth noting that this deal was for the digital versions of those games, as the physical versions are still available, though at less of a discount.

I know we're probably not going to get Ishin, but I really hope we still get Zero, Kiwami, and 6. Hopefully we get some news at PSX or sometime shortly thereafter, as Yakuza 5 should be released by then.

Also, if anyone is interested, I have a Yakuza community on PSN. Just look my PSN ID up, and it's an open group. Feel free to join in the discussions.

It's also worth remembering some of the classic voice actors, especially the ones who often don't get much in the way of recognition nowadays. One of my favorite voice actors, Cam Clarke, who was the voice of Liquid Snake in MGS1 and 2, was also a key figure in sculpting a profession for what we now know modern voice acting to be. His earliest roles were as the original voice of Kanaeda in Akira and Leonardo in the original 1988 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. He's also done...

I'm a big fan of this feature. It gives a lot of capability for gamers of all different interests to connect specifically to others who like the same games and things. I've actually started my own community for the Yakuza series. Anyone interested in joining, just look for my PSN ID (which is also akiraburn), and feel free to join up.

Hey Morgan, I know 5 is set for release in just a few months, but I couldn't find any exact info about 0's localization plans. I saw some mentions of it around the web from last year's PSX event, but nothing confirming it. I was hoping you might have heard/seen something with confirmation of it. I thought I heard Nagoshi mention Yakuza 5 and 0 during the conference, but I wasn't positive, and the translator wasn't able to keep up well during some of that discussion. Any id...

According to the PlayStation Blog, the North American release is set for February 9th of next year. They also mentioned that it will include all of the DLC packs. The rest of the info and even an English trailer for it is here: http://blog.us.playstation....

I think there are some tones of the game that they could lighten up on, but I don't know if that or grinding is really what puts people off. I'm not an otaku by any means, and I've really enjoyed the series.

I'm actually surprised that you guys thought it was a bit grind-heavy though. I tend to get very bored of grind-heavy games and that's actually the reason I stopped playing Warframe entirely. So that's something I wasn't really expecting to hea...

Definitely. I have yet to start the Alchemist of Dusk trilogy, but I played through the prior trilogy (Arland), and they were genuinely fun games.

I think that it could be the "cutesy" kind of look that throws a lot of people off from trying it out, but aside from the general art style I typically haven't see any of that content in the games. More commonly, there's a mixture of ridiculous situations, slapstick, and even off-color raunchy humor. And working ...

This looks pretty impressive. There seems to be a very drastic difference with prior Atelier titles in terms of scale. It seems like there's more to do with alchemy, and from prior screens that were shown it seems that there's a larger world to explore. Visually, this is definitely the nicest looking one so far as well. I wonder how long it will take for them to announce localization.

For anyone who hasn't tried this series before for one reason or another, it'...

Same here bud. Heck, I've bought at least 3 copies of each, given them to friends and family. Although regarding Yakuza 5's digital release, if that's the only means in which they can financially justify localizing the games, I'll take that over no Yakuza at all. It's a shame though, Sega really has us fans over a barrel, as the expression goes.

It's just hard to believe that while far more niche games like the Atelier series from NIS/Tecmo continue g...

Definitely! It's a shame that more people didn't really get into the Funimation dub, because Shin-chan was hilarious. Easily one of my favorite series. And even aside from Laura Bailey, there was so much other great talent on that show. Troy Baker as Action Bastard, and there was Chuck Huber (Heie in Yu-Yu Hakusho), Chris Sabat (Vegeta, Picclo, and numerous others in DBZ), Jerry Jewell (Jimmy Kudo in Detective Conan), and easily a dozen more really well known names in voice acting. ...

I really wanted to get into Guild Wars 2. I thought the original was very enjoyable, different, and they had a lot of potential to offer more with this sequel. So last holiday season I went and bought a GW2 digital key and tried to connect that to my account. After logging in I noticed that almost all of the information on my account was wrong and that I couldn't enter any game keys for some reason (the options were greyed out).

Since there are no phone numbers for custom...

I posted a comment on the PS Blog asking if they have had any discussions regarding a PS4 re-release, or possibly a PS4 HD collection, as well as a couple other questions about further localizations, but I haven't received any response as of yet. I still went ahead and pre-ordered the PS3 version, but if a PS4 version is announced later on I'd gladly grab that one as well.

So far the only Yakuza titles on PS4 are Ishin and Zero, both of which were cross-gen titles th...

Actually, each of the numeric titles has included a full flashback section where you can see narrated videos showing all of the major events that happened in each game (and that shouldn't be any different in Yakuza 5). They each have had actually quite a substantial amount of content within the videos that can get you caught up.

However, like Nwah suggested, it probably would be best to instead just start with Yakuza 3 and then progress from there. It should be possible ...

Definitely bud. $34 for a pre-order is a very fair price. I just hope that Sega/Sony have some further plans to help market the game. Already got my copy ordered, now it's just the wait.

Red Ash is essentially the same kind of game as Mega Man Legends. I would call it a spiritual sibling. Using the Beck character from MN9, but with a different model design, he's dropped into an action-RPG in an open-world kind of design.

As for why he's doing another Kickstarter, MN9 releases in September, and typically speaking companies like to get started planning and developing their next games immediately. Even if MN9 is a success, it simply wouldn't be enoug...
