Bit weird how some Dreamcast games (when it died), didn't get ported to the PS2 and Xbox. Powerstone, SEGA Rally 2 and Cosmic Smash a few as examples.
Another wham bam Sonic game. I'd have expected Sonic Adventure 3 by now. Can't be done with fast paced Sonic games. Virtua Racing 2, Virtua Fighter 6 and ESWAT 2 are well overdue.
So every gamer in the world can afford a digital game starting at £70? I think not.
I'm not a business expert, but if you've not got the goods, you don't pull in the dollars. Lack of games equals lack of sales. With Windows and Xbox, Microsoft have been so dumb.
The Genesis smacked the Super Nintendo in the US, but not in Japan. SEGA owned the arcade market in Japan, yet every console failed in Japan. Probably the weirdest stat in the history of gaming. 8/16bit gaming was the golden age.
In the US, the Genesis outsold the Super Nintendo. Legendary days having those consoles. But you could go on for years comparing current consoles to older consoles. Worst part of it is when comparing home consoles against handheld consoles. The Switch, which is a handheld console, has basically zero competition. Comparing Switch sales against PS5 sales is a virtually pointless exercise. If that's your thing, then compare car sales against motorbike sales or beans versus peas.
Microsoft probably paying stores money in brown envelopes.
The cost of games on disc and to download is way above me. I've a mortgage and bills to pay, £70 for games is nearly end of my gaming days. Looking at the price of downloading games, it staggered me with some costing over £70 with all the bells and whistles. Consoles £500+ and the high cost of controllers and VR headsets, it looks like I'm slowly being pushed out. There's more to life than gaming I guess.
Not sure why, but Microsoft have turned into a weird company, be it Xbox or Windows. Windows died after Windows XP and Xbox died after the Xbox 360. The Xbox Series X has been shocking for releases. Another weird side to Microsoft is having PC and Xbox games. I still have the first game factory sealed and haven't had a chance to play it. The sequel being download only. it just adds to Microsoft's continuation of weirdness. As other people have mentioned, it probably won't se...
FeeBay as also called.
But GAMESTATION was a lot better.
CEX is a joke for prices now. They list games as mint condition, which is against the Trades Description Act. Mint condition mean that an item has never been handled/used. They'd be hard pushed to advertise games as being in good condition. Handled by so many people, scratched disc and food on the manuals. That's CEX is a nutshell.
Staggers me how they've stayed in business for so long. I remember in the early 1990s, maybe around 1992 when it was Mega Drive and Super Nintendo, they'd match any price, but Argos and Toys R Us always undercut them. But that all changed with the Saturn and PlayStation as all retailers got too expensive. But GAME always had these scheme for dumb gamers who'd pay for a points card and game would always cost more. In a nutshell, you had to be pretty dumb to shop there. Play.co...
Funny company to deal with. There are other companies out there like Strictly Limited Games and Super Rare Games. Never understood the point of knocking out a low amount of games, when they could make more money having more stock. Most if not all of these games end up being sold at inflated prices by scalpers. Not sure why Xbox gets it in the neck, but as with PlayStation 4/5 and Nintendo Switch releases, limited amount of games available so be quick before prices rocket.
Another Punch and Judy show from Microsoft. Bang out a new console that's now 3 years old, keep showcasing new games every so often, then it's nearly ready for their next console. Thanks, Microsoft, I spent just over £400 on your latest console and it sits like a slab. Microzzzzzzoft more like.
You pay stupid money for digital games and DLC, then it goes missing. Who's laughing?
Will never forget these games on the PS2 and Xbox. Max Payne 3 was awesome, more so the arcade mode.
Or just play the PS5 version. Just owning a PC or one console is madness when you're a gamer. I don't even care for PC gaming.
Is Spider-Man a AAA game? It's more of the same every time.
The original Xbox was a bit of disaster, not so much the Xbox 360 even with the RRoD that generated millions of extra sales. With the Xbox One and Xbox Series X, Microsoft simply forgot the games. Microsoft loves Windows and the PC too much, which is why it forgot about people who'd paid into Xbox. Going into 2024, Microsoft yet again showcases games like they do every year. Saying that, it's not as if Sony is throwing out loads of AAA games. It's eyewatering pricing of its P...
