Not day one for me. I'll probably pick this up after I've hammered The Last of Us 2. I just don't think samurai games are worth full whack.

Can't seem to get into NES games. Can't really fault Super NES games, but most are games that I wouldn't bother with. Never played Wild Guns and it still looks playable. I'd like to see the Final Fights (I never got to play Final Fight 3). UN Squadron, Rock 'n' Racing, Legend of the Mystical Ninja. Maybe Game Boy games will surface. It looks naff by today's standards, but Wave Race was very playable and Super Mario Land 2, although Super Mario Land wasn't...

Anything NES is dead. Can't fault the likes of Mario Kart, Zelda and Mario World on Super NES, plus a few others. We all have games we'd like to see on there. Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Rock 'n' Roll Racing, UN Squadron, the Strike games by EA. All the Final Fights.

Totally agree.

Even with the PS4 and Xbox One, it's the same old, same old. Nintendo can release almost any game and Switch owners will buy it. And yes, the Switch is a handheld that can be plugged into a TV, as with the PSP all those years ago. But Nintendo still hasn't given Nintendo fans a new Wave Race and Pilotwings. For me, Wave Race would be the ultimate. It's about time that Nintendo started churning out games that are well overdue a sequel. We'll probably never see a sequel to...

Rocket Scientist or not, I can't see Microsoft getting ahead of Sony. To be honest, it doesn't bother me, as I have all the main consoles and I'll admit I can't afford to be faffing on with a PC. The PS4 walked it and the PS5 will do the same. The PS5 controller and VR2 are massive gains, more so VR2. The Xbox One Series X, it looks too big and using an old controller is a big deal to me. Yes, Xbox controllers are built better, but that's about it. I like Phil Spence...

Nah, SEGA Saturn intro was the best console intro ever. Then I’d say Nintendo GameCube.

Hate to say it, but it’ll be same old, same old. Power Stone 3 will probably never happen. Most of us love old school 2D games, so how about a new Forgotten Worlds and UN Squadron? MERCS? Yeah, I’ve pushing the boat out, but these games are not going to cost a bucket load to develop. Most CAPCOM memories for me go back to Mega Drive, SNES, PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast. After that, CAPCOM sort of started to fizzle. Never in my life did l think I’d see so many Resident Evil games. Devil ...

But wasn’t this always going to be the case? This was a topic at work a few years ago. We’ve had 4K consoles early, so what was anyone expecting with next gen consoles? Same old, same old with a slight step up with graphics. VR on PS5 will be the only big step up graphically (l hope).

I mean, who can create anything original these day? It doesn't bother me. Like movies, it'll be more of the same. Not sure about the storyline. After playing Red Dead 2, I realised that most of the missions seemed dire and some aspects of the game didn't add up. Same situation with the GTA games. Some people will probably wait for the PS5 version.

Is the Switch a home console or a handheld? In my eyes, it's a handheld that can be connected to a TV, but Sony had this with the PSP back in 2005/06. How can you compare Switch sales to Xbox One and/or PS4 sales when they're different styles of console? Same situation with comparing 3DS sales against Xbox 360 and PS3. The Switch has replaced the 3DS, it hasn't replaced the Wii U, which Nintendo claims. Would you compare motorbike sales against car sales? A pointless exercis...

I seen some discounting on the Switch Lite, but only £10 off. Could Nintendo be stockpiling as they did with the Wii? Apparently. Nintendo Europe (Germany) stockpiled Wii consoles to generate hysteria. But the Switch will soon run its course, starting this year. Give it 2 years max and a new console will surface. New consoles from Microsoft and Sony will be the bulk of it.

The Xbox One X clocked it at £450 in the UK. With an elite controller, £600 tops. No idea how it did sales wise, but I'm guessing at £450, it didn't shift millions. Past consoles at £400+ died at launch. The PS4 Pro at £350. Any console costing over £300 is never going to go mass market, end of. The PS3 at £425 at launch also springs to mind. Saturn £400 with Virtua Fighter was a big choker.

I'd rather wait for the PS5 versions. The PS5 will be hammered with PS4 games with slightly upgraded graphics. Best to invest in a new console after the dust has settled. Same with the next Xbox. Give it 2 yearsish. Saves moaning about lack of games and too many ported games from previous console.

Xbox Series Y, then Xbox Series Z? Xbox Two would have been much better. Followed by an upgraded version, Xbox Two X.

Microsoft have made a big mistake naming their next console Xbox Series X, as it sounds naff. Confusion? I worked out in a matter of seconds that the Nintendo 3DS was the successor to the DS. Mega Drive and Mega Drive 32X. Xbox to Xbox 360, but oddly, it was then Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One Xbox X. Xbox Two it should've been. The PlayStation series was simply PlayStation/PSone, PlayStation 2 etc. Or just PS, PS2 and PS3. Just boils down to people not doing research, more so...

The PS3 version was done by Nex Entertainment, it was bugged to the hilt. Bayonetta didn't sell as well as expected, so only the Xbox 360 version pulled in the money, but even that had its faults. The cost of putting Bayonetta 2 onto 5 formats (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Vita and Wii U) just wasn't possible, so Nintendo and SEGA knocked out a deal. I couldn't care less about exclusives, as at some point, I end up with all the main consoles.

Wii Sports came packaged with the console, so I disagree with comparing it to the other games in the list. Look at GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64, it sold something like 7 or 8 million units, but how many came packaged with the console as there was 2 GoldenEye console packs (one with a gold controller)?

I wouldn't say Insomniac are legendary, that's just hilarious! I honestly didn't see what the fuss was with the Resistance games, more so the PSP version as it wasn't all that good (dodgy control for starters...). As for EA, they just keep knocking out FIFA and Need for Speed every year.

This has been going on for years, in GAME included. If you go into any store and buy a new game that isn't factory sealed, the chances are it's probably been used. I remember GAME trying to sell me unsealed/used Nintendo 64 and Sega Dreamcast games as new (it's been a long time since I've bought games from stores due to their high prices...). So next time a store tries to sell you a new game that isn't factory sealed, ask for a discount. And games can be resealed then sold as new, which i...
