But Sonic hit the ropes after Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast, Sonic Racing was a bit of a comeback, but it never really recovered. Sonic Frontiers and Superstars were decent, Adventure 3 is way overdue. I was there in 1991 when the first game launched on the Mega Drive. SEGA keeps throwing out boring collections, it's time to move on with new collections.
Just another 7/8 years of the same old with Switch 2, but what else was it going to be? Nintendo pulled out of the home console market and is limited with its tech, out pops the Switch 2 that can just about run PS4/Xbox One tech games. I was impressed with Cyberpunk, but by the time the Switch 2 gets going, by 2030, we'll see the PS6 etc. Will the Switch 3 be basically a handheld PS5? Probably, but Nintendo needs to go back to basics and release a home console and a separate handheld ...
Footage?
Mario Kart 8 apparently hit just under 70 million sales on Wii U and Switch, although that figure includes the game packaged with the console, so I'm not sure on single game sales (disc, card and download). No Nintendo console out there, I think Mario Kart 8 would've hit bigger sales when you add Android and IOS, which is a good point. Nintendo's games don't exactly need ground breaking tech, but if that was there with a single format, Nintendo could then keep up. Don't...
What you're saying is, if Nintendo ditched consoles, it wouldn't make a bigger killing from releasing all of its games on PlayStation and PC, maybe even Xbox if Microsoft grows a backbone? Mario Kart 8 and Breath of the Wild as examples, what sales would Nintendo hit on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X? Nintendo could still bang on with controllers, joycons and cams etc. to bulk up its profits. Nintendo has been holding back its fans for years now when it comes to tech. Last ti...
More reason for Microsoft to ditch Xbox and release on PS and PC. Imagine if Nintendo stopped faffing on with consoles, their games would reach eye popping sales, but they love control and that's losing them millions or billions a year. Mario Kart 8 and World on PS5 and PC, what sales would they hit?
Great that you still have the original. I have original games on disc, but I'm in the process of moving them on and discs start to rot.
The demise of gaming started with the release of the PS5 and Series X. Both released too early and the previous consoles still hanging about, we're still seeing new PS4 releases. The price of games and controllers these days, we're heading for another 1980 gaming crash. The likes of the PS6 and whatever Xbox, leave it for another 5 years, around 2030, but by then, I'd hate to think how much consoles will cost.
I'm not one for going back to old games, but it makes me chuckle when games go missing. On top of that, why don't Nintendo finally change its ways and offer its online service with everything for a flat price of say £24.99 a year. Faffing on with pricing models is the dogs dinner. On top of that, we've paid for these games years ago, but you could say the games are free and you pay to play games online. I know I'm never going to see a single format and I've been g...
My Xbox Series X has sat for 3 years, last game I played was Dirt 5. I realised I should've got rid of it, but there are still a few games out there and also Xbox One games. Why Microsoft would release another console is beyond me.
I remember getting this at launch on the Nintendo 64 and even though it looked like GoldenEye, it wasn't too good to play. Plain boring if you ask me. To this day, I still don't understand the hype.
It's become a right mash up now. The likes of the PS5 and Xbox Series X and basically PCs, but that's been the norm with consoles for years. Sony games also on Xbox and PC, Xbox games on PC, maybe even Sony and Xbox games on Switch 2 at some point. Most of us are probably sick of all these consoles and we're probably never going to see a single format. I remember after SEGA released the Dreamcast, it was PS2, Xbox and GameCube. I feel like I've only just bought into this ...
It's a funny business the gaming industry. If the likes of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo listened to gamers (the consumer), there wouldn't be as much flack. Console tech is moving too fast and gamers can't keep up with the cost. The Switch 2 is apparently up there with PS4 and Xbox One tech, the PS5 and Xbox Series X have enough power for the next 5 years or more. Why doesn't Sony and Microsoft follow Nintendo and release a hybrid console? But with that, the price of gam...
Forza Horizon overtook Forza years ago. Forza and Turismo are boring now, same old tracks each time. Arcade racers like Ridge Racer and Project Gotham are dead, but so much better when it came to tracks, more so Ridge Racer with its fictitious tracks. Major revamp for Turismo and Forza. I still say the only classic Turismo was the 3rd game, Turismo 4 was decent. After that, Turismo 7 got the series back on track, more so due to VR2, but still falls short with the same old tracks and ment...
I'm surprised modders haven't taken GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas and connected them as one big game. I remember GTA 3, you had to complete so much of the game to open up the other part of the city, which was connected by a bridge, although there was a flying car cheat.
A single format, but it's never going to happen. Download whatever games you want on your PC/laptop, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo using the same tech, so crack on and choose your system. What sales would Nintendo hit with its games and also it back catalogue? I'm not a sales and marketing expert, but picking out Nintendo, games sales would explode if it pulled out of the console market or as mentioned, a single format. Most of us are getting tired of all these consoles and if the ...
I'm in the same boat. A Commodore 64 in 1986, moving onto a Mega Drive in 1990 and also a Super Nintendo in 1992. The last generation I enjoyed was Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, after that, it changed. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 felt like a weird generation that I can't explain, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, the same. This gen has been running along last gen, the Switch has moved up to Switch 2, which is up there with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 tech, why do we need PlayStation 6 ...
It looks decent, gameplay looks a bit rusty. The price will soon drop. I'll pick this up used in a few years.
There should've been a NAMCO light gun collection by now, even a SEGA one. Played most of the SEGA games, not so much NAMCO.
Legendary days.
