Add in the fact that there is no sales tax plus free delivery and this deal gets even better. Where I live, the sales tax is 8% so that equals about $30 or getting a PS4 for $330. I may have to finally "pull the trigger" and get one. 2015 is looking like a great year for PS4 games and this deal makes me think it may be time to upgrade my current PS3/gaming PC combo.

I don't think these requirements are legit. Assassin's Creed IV came out one year ago and here are those requirements:

MINIMUM

CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q8400 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Windows Vista SP or Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8 (both 32/64bit versions)
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 or AMD Radeon HD 4870 (512MB VRAM with shader Model 4.0 or higher)
Sound Card: Yes

@BG11579, they are still not including PC hardware in that figure and it clearly states "PC Games", yet their console figure includes hardware. The reason they don't include PC hardware is because it would be too hard to distinguish which is exactly for gaming and what's for general PC use. The same with mobile devices: the revenue shown is only for gaming software and not the phones. Console hardware shouldn't be included in their figures because it skews the results. S...

@BG11579, I believe the problem and the disparity in the numbers is due to this (quoted from your Gartner source): "The worldwide video game marketplace, which includes video game console hardware and software, online, mobile and PC games" The PC totals are only including games while the console totals are hardware and games. That is heavily skewing their numbers towards consoles. If only game sales are totaled, then, PC games are ahead. Notice that is what your first source shows (...

Very good comment and distills this whole argument into one easily understood sentence. Bravo!

Maybe antiquated, but the weapons were the precursors to modern weapons. Machine guns (real MG's, not hand cranked gatling guns), tanks and airplanes all made their debut in WWI. Also, antiquated weapons of older wars (Civil War, Napoleonic Wars, Roman Wars, etc.) can be in a good game. I just seems like the farther you get from WWII, though, the more likely those type of war games will be RTS or turn based strategy games rather than the FPS that so dominates the gaming industry.

Have to agree. Hard to translate trench warfare into an exciting game.

@Dlacy13g, losing money is not necessarily the result of bad decision making. Look at investing. You have to take risks in order to get a better return. The higher the risk, the greater your chance of a higher return. You can invest conservatively, but the return is less. Invest your money in high risk stocks and you have the chance of a greater return. You just need to have your winners outpace your losers. You will lose money on some of your investments with the greater risk taken. That is ...

"But the core of this opinion article's argument was taking risks on games. Taking losses on six out of 10 games doesn't mean that they're taking risks -- it just means they're losing money."

In his rebuttal article, this writer really doesn't know what he's talking about. Losing money is taking risks. Besides, the 40% that are making money are covering the the 60% that are not, so, in the long run, they are actually making money....not losin...

@gamer2013, I'm not hurt in the least nor am I bothered. I'm primarily a PC gamer and get amused by these console wars. Plus his facts don't show the XB1 in a positive light. They just showed that they had a good launch. But, as I said, so did the WiiU. What matters is what happens after launch and the news has not been good for XB1. Maybe you should just grow up and accept that.

Plus, can't people read articles anymore. This was a well written article by an ...

Geeze, what a troll and I see why you have one bubble. You post the same exact thing in every XB1 vs PS4 article. Yes, the XB1 had a good launch, but so did the WiiU and look at where it is now. All the XB1 sales were front-loaded at launch with early adopters and sales for it since the first of the year have been abysmal. I'd say they'd be lucky to hit 8 million by the end of 2014. That would be a 13 month total and place them below both the PS2 and PS3. Meanwhile, the PS4 will proba...

What's even more remarkable is that Xbox One is being outsold by the PS3 (a 7+ year old system). According to VGChartz, the PS3 has outsold the the Xbox One every week except one since the beginning of the year. That is not a good position to be in. MS really needs to rethink their strategy and pricing.

You might consider cancelling your preorder and get it from a CD key seller. There's about a 20-30% discount going that route. I've gotten several this way and haven't been burned. Just make sure they use PayPal just in case you need to resolve any problems. Here's a comparison site with several to choose from:

I would like to see a mode with 12v12 human players. Each team would have 6 pilots and 6 engineers. Only the pilots could call in Titans, but would have no heavy weapons. Engineers couldn't call in Titans, but would have heavy weapons to take them on. Then, eliminate the Grunts and only have Spectres for the AI (actually, there might be enough action to eliminate all the AI). As it is now, there are just too many bots and not enough human players. I think this type of mode would really op...

Wait, aren't these specs in conflict with each other. It states a HD 4770/8800GT or better, but also says it requires DirectX 11. Both of those cards are DirectX 10. If it's DirectX 11 only, then Vista wouldn't be supported either. So, which is it? My guess is that the DirectX requirement is 10.1 and this is a misprint.

I like that suggestion: "Only pilots can get titans. They don't have anti Titan weapons. The engineer or anti Titan soldiers can't use titans but get the heavy weapons. Something like that."

That makes more sense. Then, you could open it up to 12v12: 6 pilots and 6 engineers per team. That would really expand the game up and cut down on the number of brain dead bots (get rid of the minions and leave the spectres). That could also alleviate some of the "...

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, here is where I found the cheapest CD key pre-order ($42, that's 30% off the list price). They use PayPal, so it's a good bet that they are safe site. If there's ever a problem, PayPal has a good resolution system.

I have to agree with a lot that this author has to say, especially this quote: "At the end of the day, I find myself absolutely satisfied with my experience in the beta, but I fear for the game's longevity." I had fun with the beta as well, but some things bothered me.

1) It starts to feel the same after a while. I've played over 15 hours and it started getting boring to me. There's a "sameness" with the matches. I know there are only 2 maps, b...

You do realize that Infamous is made by Sucker Punch and not Naughty Dog. However, they do have a great track record as well, though. Sony has some great first party studios.
