The best solution is to own a PC and a console. I have both (PC + PS3) and get the best of both worlds. Personally, I enjoy FPS and RTS games on the PC more because I believe the graphics and controls are better (keyboard and mouse all the way!). My PS3 then covers the great Sony exclusives plus the console only games not available on the PC.

So glad that Herzog Zwei made the list. Me and my buddies were so addicted to it. Genesis became my first gaming console because of that game. Truly one of those games that were ahead of their time and really influential. I think I still have it packed away somewhere. Now that I see the prices on eBay, I may have to fire up the ole Genesis and see if it still works.

What about a lightsaber game? The damn thing almost looks like one and the ball could glow the same color as your onscreen lightsaber. Use the Nav Controller or DS in your left hand for movement while swinging away with the Move as the lightsaber. Plus the Move has rumble feedback so you could "feel" the whacks. Man, Sony really should be in talks with LucasArts to make one; it would be so much better than that "on-rails" Kinect StarWars game coming out.

I'm mostly a PC gamer, so I'm not really into the whole motion control business. However, of the three systems, the Sony Move is the only one that looks appealing to me. The Wii is just too inaccurate and the SD resolution is a real turn-off (once you go HD, it's impossible to go back). The Kinect is mostly promises and potential, but just doesn't look like it's ready for primetime and the games look like casual crap. Only the Sony Move has true 1:1 tracking and can be use...

I'm mostly a PC gamer as well, but I would add Red Dead Redemption to your list of console games that look great. Wish it was on the PC so I could scale it up and have it look even better.

DICE just makes great online games. I've been hooked on the BF series ever since BF1942 and the Desert Combat mod. I liked the first COD and especially its expansion, United Offensive. However, once BF2 came out, I lost interest in COD games. COD2 for the PC was a crappy console port, COD3 was consoles only, and MW didn't appeal to me either: just a twitchy, fragfest of a game with no strategy or tactics. BFBC2 is a great MP game that I really enjoy. My only criticism is lack of maps ...

I'm also mostly a PC gamer and agree with the author. However, I have the PS3 as my console "sidekick" and think its a bit better complement to the PC than the 360. The PS3 has a lot more exclusives that are truly exclusive (most of the 360 ones are also on PC so its a little redundant). In addition, you don't need to pay to play online with the PS3, just like the PC. Also, my Logitech racing wheel and other peripherals work great with both. I think the PC + PS3 makes an inc...

I doubt that Black Ops will sell as much as MW2 because there is more competition this time. Most developers decided not to compete against MW2 since they knew it was going to be a big seller. However, this year we already have Halo Reach released and MOH coming this month. Then, early next year, we will also have KZ3, BulletStorm, and Homefront. The competition for FPS games will be much more intense this time around and I don't see how Black Ops can match MW2. It may end up being the be...

Very delusional. There are about 40 million 360's sold which took about 5 years to attain. So, quadrupling that would be 160 million in roughly the same time frame (MS says that Kinect will give the 360 another 5 years of life). That's absurd. The BS that MS is spewing for the Kinect is quite mind blowing.

Really, you think its cool to take advantage of your friends like that. He gets his friends to buy games from him and then keeps the coupons. This guy is a schemer and sounds like a total douche. I wouldn't want any friends like him.

Really sounds like the author is taking advantage of his friends: he starts the whole procedure by charging them $60 for Halo Reach and pocketing the $25 coupons for himself. Doesn't sound like much of a friend to me.

I hate John McCain for unleashing that dimwit on the American public. Can't go anywhere without reading or seeing her. Thanks John, thanks a lot.

Isn't it kind of early for a full cover story since the game is being delayed until the fall of 2011? But I guess that's the only big 360 exclusive next year so they may have to have it as their cover story a few more times. You'd really think that a Xbox magazine would have featured Kinect instead since that is what MS is gearing up to sell for the Xmas season (or was that covered in the Nov. issue?).

Possibly, since you can buy the game on Steam and they now support the Mac. You may want to download and install Steam to see if they have it available. If so, it will definitely be worth it as it is a great game. Really enjoying it myself.

I'm mostly a PC gamer, but I also have the PS3 which I think is an awesome sidekick. Since I like FPS and RTS games the most, I do the majority of my gaming on the PC since I believe the graphics and the controls are better (I prefer keyboard/mouse for those games). However, the PS3 has some awesome exclusives that I just couldn't pass up; plus I can also get those games (like RDR) that aren't on PC. At this point, the 360 seems redundant to me since I can get most of its exclusiv...

I game on a PC and the PS3 which I think is an awesome combo. I only miss out on a few 360 exclusives (lots of them are also on the PC) and the Wii never appealed to me (the SD resolution is a real turnoff for me). However, I never thought of a PC as a console and really consider it a gaming platform with consoles being the PS3, 360 and Wii.

I see your point and can see the attraction that it might have for parents (at least until the "rugrats" start destroying things with their overenthusiastic zeal). When I was a kid, though, my parents wanted me to play outside (I can almost hear my dad saying "stop playing ball in the house!"). However, I'm not a kid anymore and the whole motion gaming stuff eludes me.

The problem with all these games are that they would be exhausting. Take boxing for example. Your arms are going to be tired after 20-30 minutes while I can play Fight Night for hours with my controller before my fingers give out. I just don't see how long you can play these games before exhaustion sets in. When I get home from work, I want to be able to enjoy my gaming time, not get exhausted after a long, tiring day. I just don't see the appeal. Sorry, but I'll be sticking with ...

On what planet was Borderlands "Game of the Year"? I don't recall even seeing it nominated on any gaming sites. The standards for naming a game GOTY are really slipping.
