I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I picked a PS3 slim a year ago and the major reason I went with it is EXCLUSIVES. Most 360 exclusives are also on PC so I don't miss too many of those and others, like Halo, don't appeal to me (the Battlefield series are my favorite shooters). Also, I don't like the whole paying to play online thing that MS has going. The Wii is too "kiddie" for my tastes plus the SD resolution is a real turnoff (once you go HD, you can never go back). T...
I believe that's the definition of overrated and much the same thing happened with MW2 last year. I still like BFBC2 better than any of the latest COD's and really looking forward to the 4 new maps coming soon (plus the Vietnam expansion).
Heavy Metal is the only one of the four new maps being released that doesn't support Rush mode. I also love Rush and can't wait for this release: it will bring the total Rush maps up to 10.

It makes sense, too. Then, they'll have GT5 out in time for the big Black Friday sales in the US.
I disagree. I have a gaming PC, but also own a PS3 and I believe it's the best sidekick. You can game on both online for free and both are in HD unlike the Wii (sorry, but that SD resolution is real big turnoff for me). Also, I think the PS3 has the best exclusives of all the consoles so, all in all, I believe it makes a better complement to my PC.
The author makes good points about the difference, but MS could make a quick fix to show the skill level: Use a / with their gamer score to indicate out of how many possible points. For instance, a gamer score of 10,000/10,000 would show more skill than a score of 10,000/40,000.
Good list and well written article. However, I'd probably would have included a better browser to list as well.
I'm hoping that this motion controller fad doesn't infect my PC gaming.
Or the robot in Short Circuit: #5 is alive, No disassemble.
This closing comment pretty much sums it up (and from the Official Xbox Magazine, at that):
"From the time we’ve spent with our Kinect, we’d call it more intriguing than essential at this point. Its voice and motion functionality have loads of potential, but for now — in both the dashboard and the launch games reviewed on the following pages — it definitely has limits, and not everyone will love it."
Got to respect a Xbox site for giving a honest re...
"For all the talk of revolutionizing the Xbox 360 experience and making gaming more natural/ accessible, it's bordering on absurd how broken Kinect is when it comes to something as simple as working in your home."
Ouch.
"But for some reason I found myself, a few days after my initial awe, not caring as much. I'd get home from work and, instead of powering up my Xbox to play some of my exciting new Kinect test games, I'd revert back to watching "The X-Files" via Netflix on my PlayStation 3."
I bet this will be the reaction from a lot of people, once the glow from the hype wears off; Kinect will be the newest gimmick that ends up collecting dust.
This quote from the article sums it up pretty well: "Unlike the Kinect, it rocks to have something to hold in your hand, and in my opinion, makes the game feel more realistic rather than reaching for something that isn't there." And this one, too: "Sony is about games first where Microsoft isn't anymore."
"Kinect may be future of gaming." Oh please NOOOOOOOO! If Kinect is the future, then gaming has no future.
Funny line...bubbles ups for you. "Kinect is every bit as accurate as a traditional controller, if not more so." This was one of the most asinine statements that I have ever seen.
I laughed at the title "The Complete Kinect Launch Guide for Gamers". I think true gamers will stay away from this thing.
Actually, I'd put the order as:
Keyboard/Mouse > Gamepad > Move > Wiimote > Kinect
FROM THE ARTICLE: "Kinect is what the future of gaming looks like," says Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft Entertainment, a games publisher that has announced five games that use Kinect, including a fitness title and a fighting game that go on sale this week. "This motion-sensing controller technology that they've created is absolutely a breakthrough."
I fear for the future of gaming if this ends up being the case.
Plus $150 is the retail price that includes the markup. Say, MS was to make $50 off of every unit (I doubt it would be that much, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt). That would take sales of 10 million units just to break-even with the $500 million marketing budget.
I also loved the United Offensive and COD2 campaigns. COD UO was actually my favorite COD MP game as well. The killstreaks and perks have just ruined the COD experience for me (along with all the camping, glitching and hacking). But, I still have the BF series to rely on (DICE continues to make great MP games).
