You do realize you first exhort devs to "imitate Uncharted", and then you tell them to "think outside the box"? Which is it? ;)
There's a "Lens of Truth" article on NFG that indicates the graphics are practically identical between the two consoles (no gamma differences, either). No word on framerate or tears, though.
In that pic it looks like it was snapped when there was a bit more fog or smoke in the view, or perhaps when there was some lingering player damage or something.
Carmack talked a lot about multi-level caching of virtual textures at QuakeCon, for the purpose of reducing texture pop-in. Since you can have much larger caches on PC, you have less (perhaps imperceptible) pop-in - along with larger framebuffers and better filtering, of course.
Besides the (originally) non-labelled images, and the lack of direct comparisons, the full-size images are not even the same size.
Fail.
It doesn't make sense and is misleading for the author to use images of Fallout 3 DLC when complaining about that feature. The game shipped with hundreds of hours of content, the DLC was large, and had quite a bit of gameplay (I know, because I got all the achievements for all of them).
Developers just can't win. If they speak proudly of their work, comments on N4G rip into them for being arrogant (I'm not saying that the developers aren't being arrogant or misleading, many times). On the other hand, if they speak humbly, comments on N4G denigrate them for not engaging in hyperbole.
Helpful comment
That's what SHE said.
Heck, if you don't do any of the side quests, you might be able to finish Oblivion or Fallout 3 in 15 hours. I've never tested this out, as I avoid taking the mainline quests as long as I can when I play such games.
Looks like somebody may have violated their NDA, snapping some cell phone pics when their host wasn't looking.
Agreed.
Another thing that is not considered, perhaps, is that the standard has to advance over time. If Gears 3 MUST be rated relative to Gears 2 (according to Cliffy), then it also MUST be rated relative to Gears 1, then Doom, then Pong, then Space War. In which case every modern game should be rated 10.0.
As an analogy, Nadia Comaneci scored several perfect 10s in 1976 for a performance that was pretty primitive compared to today's Olympic standards. T...

You say the bans are unsustainable, and I won't argue against that, entirely. However, if one were inclined to believe the "Evil corporate giant" angle, one might consider the following thought process over at Microsoft:
"Hmm, this user showed up in our list of questionable activities. Checking online activity... Alright, he's been logging an average of 50 hours a week of multiplayer COD and dozens of other games for the la...
Me too, though I have to point out she's been milked so much recently her boobs are smaller.
Geez, if the kid doesn't want to hear about ZeniMax games, why's he bothering to follow Pete's twitter account?
I was in the same situation before I got in the Games Industry as a programmer. Unfortunately, a couple of my ideas are still bouncing around in my head while I work on OTHER peoples' ideas...
That was a pretty sweet link. Lots of the games weren't AAA, but plenty were. I'd like to see a family tree that starts with Doom (which would include all the Quake stuff, of course).
What DO the apples in Crash Bandicoot give you?
If it is a 12" tall hand-painted statue of a dragon, the width could very well be somewhat more than that - perhaps 15". Add the packing material needed to protect it, and the size of the box is not all that surprising.
You could always install Rage to an SSD.
