Final Fantasy is not turn based. That's the point of the whole series, every new entry is something new. I love turn based combat when it fits. Persona games are my favorite JRPGs and it's great there cause it fits with the anime style. FF on the other hand is getting more real in terms of graphics with each new entry and in such games turn based combat is boring and illogical. And I don't get your last statement...
Square's main market is still Japanese gamers, and given the trend that they choose mobile over consoles this seems like a logical move to make.
That's why it gained so many new fans. Claiming to be a FF fan but degrading the game to just its battle system is rather sad.
@jambola but still, they said they won't make a remake so why even bother believing they will, if they were rather clear about confirming they won't. Wanting a remake is understandable, but many fans act like brats who didn't get the Christmas gift they wanted, and that's entitled. Immense amounts of cash would need to be invested into the remake and if I was Square and considered 1. the fanbase being divided itself on this topic, as everyone seems to have their own idea how a...
Here let me open your eyes. Not everyone has the same opinion as you. Impossible, right?
Those fans lost are unneeded anyways cause they thought that FF was all about the battle system and dismiss all of its other great aspects. And they gained new fans as well.
While I agree no remake should be done the points the writer makes are stupid and illogical.
I did and these English voices sound so fake.
Duh, this sounds like a bad anime dub.
@ziggurcat
Nope, it is a right. If it was a new IP then fine, do whatever you like with the game but if you're making a reboot, you should be aware that you're changing a game which already has a fanbase. Dragon explained it pretty well with his Mario example but you ignored and didn't address that. It is not a good move to mention critic scores of this game as well, as we all know about some leaked posts on social media which hinted at them buying good critics. A...
And it wouldn't be possible.
Because they already said they won't make a HD remake unless they make a Final Fantasy that surpasses 7 in every way. Have they done that yet? No. But now they can't go on stage and use anything from ff7 without the fans expecting it to be a hd remake, but when they say that's not it, and it's obvious it isn't from their statement above fans still rage. Take the ps3 demo for example. They wanted to show the ps3's power and feed the fan's nostalgia by making the ope...
While they could have announced it in a different way it's not only their fault. 50% are the fans to blame as well.
Why do people expect a remake announcement? They said they won't make one until they make a Final Fantasy which surpasses 7 in quality. I haven't seen them do that yet.
Because you have no social life huehuehue
"The difficulty is being set towards the high end."
Sigh. Tabata seems to disagree.
The first one's concept sounds amazing! I hope they, or someone gets back to it. The outlook should be different now with the new gen consoles...
@theonewhoistornapart
Not really, he's got a point. In Nomura's version the key of the battles was changing between characters and building up combos. In Tabata's you can't switch characters. To me that's a major difference which gives people the right to be angered.
Didn't bother reading further after your first answer. Again, degrading such amazing games to the battle system is sad.
