A disagree. Much answer. Very elaborate.
@Dragonknight
if you think the story doesn't need changes you're wearing your nostalgia glasses. As much as I loved the story, which was explained well after 3 spin offs and a movie, the story of FFVII already was a confusing mess with many holes in it. And especially with the spin offs existing, it needs some changing to make sense.
@ameliabaz
while Crisis Core had fun gameplay and lovable characters, DoC had a better story and it tied in bet...
@kalkano
You don't make any sense dude.
I never said I want a completely different game. I want the same game, but with improved gameplay. I love FFVII for it's story, characters, world, setting, lore and so on. You love it cause it's just a turn based jrpg. If you degrade Final Fantasy to just turn based gameplay you never were a true fan of that game, u just were a fan of that kind of game.
Guys like you prevent improvement. B...
Turn based was born from limitations of that time. I sure hope it's not the same battle system, that would be an immense loss of potential.
With it's reputation everyone has heard of FF VII by now, even if they haven't played it. With modern graphics, even if a new direction pisses off a number of fans, it will gain attention of others. Even with pretty graphics, turn based will be too boring for people who didn't grow up with it.
If you want...
@rainslacker
well, that's exactly what a remake would be. a reboot would be if they changed everything, including story, world etc.
if they keep everything the same but just add shiny graphics it's a remaster, not a remake.
I wonder how they're gonna pull of the cross-dress mission and the 'cloud taking a bath with gay naked muscle guys' scene though
Can you define what looks like "traditional final fantasy".
I want the blood back :/ And the party member AI could use some improvement. They could at least try and dodge, each time they get killed within 2 minutes.
@rhap
It's a demo. I'm sure in the full game when you have magic, equipment, techniques etc you can make it look less boring.
And battling strong enemies in every final fantasy was the same. Only here you have moves linked to buttons while earlier u had to go through menus, which made it take even longer.
9th screenshot, crotch grab. Bromance, yeah right.
'Murica!
Nomura back then talked a lot about her, she was probably the most discussed character. With his love for her, and with what people saw in trailers everyone anticipated her cause she seemed like a strong female character. Now you have Luna, who appears for 2 seconds in the trailer, sitting and the quote 'Noctis, Luna is waiting for you.' This hints that she'll be the damsel in distress type which would be very annoying and a bad substitute.
Though it's not pre...
The fact that they removed Stella, who was a very important character in the original game, and had to write a new one with her own story to fit the new game tells me that what we see now isn't pretty much 'identical' to the original vision.
Nomura back then promised the story would be dark and more mature than in the FFs we had in the past few years. I don't see that anymore and that's an indication that this is a completely new game and not what we have been promised. And Tabata can seem arrogant with his comments sometimes, yeah.
I wouldn't have a problem with this game if they made a FFXV from scratch, I mean they seem to have changed so much they could have done it. I'd rather see FFversusXI...
You hope people don't get hyped cause you don't like it? That's logic at it's best.
I could say the same, if they removed the third person view I'm out and won't get it. To each their own man. But don't be a graphics whore.
This is obviously the style they chose for the Fallout franchise. Same like Bioshock Infinite. That graphics looked dated as well but no one complained cause it was a hella good game.
For me the remaster is like they just added a terribly strong blur filter. In the old game the faces and hair seem much more detailed.
Speaking in general, am I the only one who prefers the old graphics over the new remastered ones?
No.
You call it normal, I call it sad.
If you want this to stay like the old Final Fantasy VII why not just play the old Final Fantasy VII?
It goes both ways.
