You have a world in which you can walk around until you get to an area that has quests to do. It similar to any other open world game. I didn't really have difficulties finding direction.

There's many. But the one that I found very unexpected and creepy is in Mass Effect 2, the mission with the AI that went crazy. it scared the hell out of me cause I didn't expect that in ME2.

How is it westernizing. Was Star Ocean westernized as well back in 1996? It's an ARPG too.

Actually nothing. There have been action rpgs along turn based ones all along. Even now some real time rpgs do better in sales than turn based ones that are considered masterpieces. Ff XV is said to be westernized when in fact it isn't. There's a clear difference in battle systems between western and eastern rpgs, Gothic, Witcher, Fallout are examples of western ones. FF XV resembles the battle system and gameplay of old japanese action RPGs. There's nothing westernized about it. ...

I'm not complaining about the game but the article...I don't see how your comment is a reply to anything I wrote o.O

Well, to be fair only X was truly turn based. The other games from 7 and onward had the ATB system. XII and XIII had the same system prior games used. Maybe you're not disappointed in the change of battle system, you're just disappointed in the lack of controlling the whole party.

@Irish,

PS2 isn't that easy to emulate man. You need the right hardware. My PC is fairly good but I still can't play about half of the games.

Is there any point in this article? The writer has his facts wrong and just seems to be riding the SE hate train. It's okay to write negatively about something but don't use lies and don't make the article obviously biased.

Seriously, someone's getting money for this crap. Can game journalism become illegal? Please..?

@Flex, the UK was dominated by xbox the last console generations. People put you guys in the same boat with them. I'm from Bosnia, live in Germany and I've been around and met many friends. It's not just the game industry, Hollywood movies - getting off on explosions, US music - sex sells. To some point I agree with them as well, there's been a decrease in quality. The cultural difference between US and Japan is bigger, so of course they know less about Americans than German&#...

It's safe to say you haven't played the games if you say she has no character development. Despite the flaws of the game, as a character she's very likable.

Off topic, you can't compare modern voiced games to older ones. Voice acting is a limitation of the modern games. Take FFVII and imagine how long the cutscenes alone would be if everything was voiced. Of course it was easier to develop characters with text only. You're comparing apples and bananas.

You have no idea about Japanese culture man. Young people in Japan are crazy for anything American. People in Europe are the ones that mostly see you as dudebros who need explosions to get off.

And you try too hard, Japanese games aren't the only thing that draws people to the PS4. It's not a strictly Japanese console as you paint it out to be. It's exclusives like Uncharted, The last of us, Demon's souls, Infamous, Shadow of Colossus, Journey. It's this d...

@Damien

I didn't say I don't like the game now. I did like the demo and think it's fantastic. I just like Nomura's work and am disappointed that he's not in the lead anymore.

I'm judging by interviews with Nomura during the time it was still called Versus XIII. Stella was the character he talked the most about and seemed to be fascinated with the most. He talked more about her than Noctis, judging by that she was very important and wel...

It's an amazing game. It's well worth the price. People pay more for movies in cinema and they don't last as long.

3976d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Because people call themselves fans but degrade ffVII to just a turn based RPG despite all it's other awesome aspects.

3976d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

Except the story was changed and a loved character who was crucial to the main story was completely deleted from it. That's kinda a huge change.

Seriously? No disrespect but it's their job. They create games and get our money for it. It's as simple as that. With that logic you should thank the doctors, taxi drivers, cashiers, waiters, security, bus drivers, garbage cleaners, bakers, farmers and everyone else more often. Hell just end every conversation with 'Thank you for existing.'

Articles riding the mourn train really get on my nerves -.-

Seriously? It's epicly awesome. With Hayao Miyazaki gone Mamoru Hosoda is my last hope for real quality anime movies :/

Princess Mononoke would be awesome. And Summer Wars would be a great Online MMO :O

Parasyte would make a good game too. And Gantz! Though that would need to follow the manga, not the anime :/ But it'd be epic!

And you know what people in Japan want because...?

ARPGs have been and will stay well received in Japan.
