I agree. I never said that turn based games need to be eradicated. But for me at least it's an important design choice, the more realistic the graphics, the less immersive turn based feels to me. In games like Persona I love it, I wouldn't choose any other for that, but judging by the FFVIIre trailer, I wouldn't want it to be turn based.
Yes, but Xbox 360 dominated the US and is representative of gamers' preference there. It just shows that in general gamers in the West don't like turn based games. On the other hand, action RPGs like Dark Souls for example have had good sales in Japan, with higher sales than Persona 4 on PS2 (one of the best turn based games IMO).

I understand your wish, I grew up with the games you love as well, but it's not possible. It doesn't appeal to enough people. Lost Odyssey tried to bring turn based to the US crowd on Xbox 360, we all know how that worked out.

TLOU was set several years after the infection started. I would like a new story in the time when it actually started. A story that explains how it transferred to humans, how it spread so vastly. The Cordyceps is found in tropical regions, mainly Asia, how did it get to the US without infecting the whole of Asia prior. What's with the rest of the world?

The reason why the ending was so good is because it didn't sell you some crappy Hollywood style happy ending. Joel and Ellie had a wish to save the world from the infection, they were screwed over, they realized the world they wanted will never happen.
The story was their attempt to develop a cure. Ellie wasn't the only one immune, dozens of people who were were killed for a cure without positive results. No one lives happil...

That's not really a logical point of view. According to that every new IP is supposed to fail cause no one played it before to know it's good. SE are exactly going for new fans with this remake. The reveal trailer on youtube has over 10 million views, that alone shows how well known this game is. I know many people who are interested in the story of FF VII, or at least they know who Cloud is but they never got to play the game cause they couldn't stand the dated graphics.
