First of all, racism isn't exclusively a "white" thing since there is black-on-black racism throughout Africa.
Second, the divide between white and black can't be spiritual since there is no god ;)
@Burn
You shouldn't post stuff like that on the internet. The Eye is watching you ;)
Until people are ready to show empathy and take things like this game as a chance of insight instead of offense, things will never change.
You just destroyed your chance to be taken seriously with your last comment.
It's about the black population in America in 1968, of course it will be about white>black racism. Can't really expect the story to deal with racism towards Asians.
Have you read the interview? He means to show players what racism feels like by making them feel uncomfortable while playing someone who's experiencing racism.
On another note, in his review of Assassin's Creed Webb criticized developers for making the character biracial, ...
It's not really an agenda if it's historically accurate. But we'll see whether that it is or not.
It's basically an excuse for "We didn't want to offend anyone with enabling the player to pay hookers."
Cause common, a guy has the desire to cruise through town and waste time, but no desire for sex? Yeah right.
This picture has nothing to do with racism. They just chose this one, other pics of the same campaign showed the black person dominating over the white one. But yeah must be racism.
Those Sony ads from that time were the best imo. They were different, weird or funny. The one's after that, like the one you mentioned, were standard hollywoodish commercials. In other words meh.
"If people are reasonable, and keep the pressure up with CONSISTENT constructive discourse, and not blind rage like here, then maybe something will happen. And most importantly, people should start putting their money where their mouth is, and stop supporting games which are going to piss them off."
That's exactly the problem most people have. They were led to make a purchase based on lies. Is that to some extend their fault because they indugle in stuff like ...
Stop defending the game already.
But even for bacteria it is very unlikely to jump between species. Viruses go through genetic drifts and shifts, other microorganisms don't. For a fungus to jump from ants to other species it is very unlikely, like so unlikely that you can say it'll never happen without genetic engineering. Even the cordyceps that attacks ants was found out to be a whole other species from those infecting other organisms.
To those interested, the ESRB rating contains spoilers on the story. Avoid reading if u want to know less.
From a medical perspective, the most potent virus for such an outbreak is rabies, like in 28 days/weeks later, but even that scenario is too far fetched. Generally, the human body is too complex for a bacteria/virus/fungus/parasite to control it to that degree. Parasites affecting human behavior goes as far as people infected with echinoccocus (dog parasites) showing less fear of dogs than before.
The most potent culprit in my opinion would be some new kind of drug or prio...
@MWEB
Well I did search about this, apparently Sony offered HG a development budget as well, but they refused and only asked for a marketing budget.
Also, Sony appears to be only involved in terms of finances and securing places at events and tv for HG. I do understand why they critisize Sean. They gave the money, HG was responsible on how they used it. Deciding not to create and pay a PR team is on HG. Also, Sony isn't putting the blame on anyone, I...
Article kinda klickbait. In the article the scientists say that a fungal outbreak is unlikely to ever happen. What they said is possible is the panic that followed the outbreak.
@Captainobvious
I see no hypocricy in media. I've seen just as many stabs at Hillary as I have on Trump.
@bruce
Many games have had political themes. As I said, you just didn't feel offended because they promote something you believe in. Espionage in Russia, mass control with media, war in the Middle East, heck even today most war themed shooters are the reflection of some propaganda rather than the real situation. And common,...
As far as I know Sony has nothing to do with the game in relation to PC and Steam?
Developers have the right to insert content of whatever nature they deem fit. If you get offended about this then you should take gaming less seriously. Those offended give arguments from an emotional, not a rational perspective, as they see this not only as a stab at Trump, but a stab at their views as well. It is just a game.
How come there hasn't been an outrage about the characters in other episodes or games. No one cares if Hitler gets killed for the 100th of time,...
Clearly the system of approving articles needs to be improved on N4G. I want to see more of this kind. You can tell that she's done her research; while being an opinion piece, each of her arguments is linked to other articles. It's a well researched and credible opinion, not just a rant like we usually get.
Well done Angela, true gaming journalists are a rarity today.
