For sure the new opening title is teh suck. I'll give it some time, but overall I liked the gaming news as an addition, but I'll have to give the rest some more time. I think if they are going to expand the format they ought to review more games.
Just because Wii and DS sales are phenomenal does not mean that PSP and PS3 sales are bad. If PSP sales are bad then 360 sales must be abysmal right?
I agree. What's the threshold? It ought to be like once a week or something, but I'm sure it's much lower.
It's definitely really cool - especially for people who are on the go a lot. Personally, if I needed to upgrade from my current notebook, I'd probably wait for the inevitable MacBook refresh around May or so which I assume with have the aluminum/glass case, backlit keyboard, LED backlit screen, new trackpad etc of the Air.
How exactly are they forcing them to pay it? At iGun point?
It's not broadcast live, but you could have followed the liveblogs. You should be able to watch the recording at http://www.apple.com/ a little later today!
How to save Call of Duty 5 from crapness? Keep it away from Treyarch.
Sweet! Lair 2 on the Wii!!!

<qft>Warner Home Entertainment President Kevin Tsujihara says the studio took no pay-offs to exclusively back Blu-ray.
In a post-announcement conference call, Tsujihara flatly denied rumors that studio had accepted anywhere from 250M to $500M in exchange for dropping its HD DVD format support.
According to the exec, Warner's sole motivation...
I think you would need the cross-hair on the Wii as you don't really hold the Wiimote like a gun where you can look down the "barrel" to target.
"But the majority of Blu-ray players sold to date do not have the necessary hardware to offer the features."
This is untrue as the majority of Blu-Ray players sold to date are PS3s, which do have the necessary hardware to support all current Blu-Ray player specs.
Regarding all the talk of 360 price cuts vs. PS3 price cuts, I'm curious what people think about the possibility of the PS3 eventually dropping lower in price than the 360. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if it happens by 2009 or 2010, but what do you think?
I think you have a fair point. The closest historical example we have of the 360 strategy is the Sega Genesis (or Megadrive for our friends over the Atlantic). Sega got out well in front of the Super NES, got a great install base, great 3rd party support. But in the end they lost their luster more quickly and the SNES started kicking them around the school yard resulting in Sega scrambling to stay ahead technologically - releasing the ill fated Sega CD and 32x, products that took Sega from be...
This "article" is a ridonculous pile of nonsense from some dude who seems to understand the gaming industry slightly less than even the most obnoxious n4g members (I don't mean anyone in specific, just think of that guy who's posts always give you a laugh and then think of someone more ignorant than that guy telling you what the future holds - that's what this "article" makes me think of).
I don't think anybody would be as up in arms about the XBL problems of late if it were a free service. I think that most folks get that they aren't getting much in the first place for their monthly fee so it doesn't take much to get them rioting on the internets when there are some problems. Microsoft is squandering a lot of good will by charging for services that pretty much no one else charges for - it seems like about half the folks I talk to about XBL think the $5 a month they are paying ...
One of the main things that made Sony so dominant with the PS1 and PS2 was their ability to design hardware so that they could rapidly and dramatically reduce the hardware costs, enabling them to lower the price of the hardware and make a healthy profit at the same time. I think the same will prove true with the PS3 as it's an integral part of their strategy. Microsoft hasn't shown any ability in the past to reduce their hardware costs enough to keep their prices competitive or to make the ha...
I like Uncharted more because you can JUMP!
Can't wait! Oh Insomniac, how I love thee.
Seriously though, Resistance was pretty good looking game, but this looks easily 10 times better.
I know how you feel. I hate Achievements like "You finished the first level", but I like ones like "You got 10 headshots in a row" - for a lot of players that can add an extra layer of challenge to the game and extend playtime/increase the value proposition of the game. Considering how relatively simple they are for devs to put in, I'm all for them - when they aren't lame.
What movie costs $6? The max price for DVD quality on demand is $3.99 (new releases). Older titles are only $2.99.
