"The only surprise Microsoft announce was purchasing Ninja theory imho and showing Ori"

I've never understood this - does an announcement have to be a surprise to be good now? What did Sony show that we didn't already know about?

They’ve announced that its coming out on the current gen One and X

I think that’s a hyperbolic statement, and a bit unfair.

With Halo 5’s terrible campaign and poor reception I’d much rather them take as long as it takes to make a great Halo 6.

I think it’s more important to let 343 take their time than it is to rush it out to appease people saying that there were enough games revealed for a 2018 release.

Don’t want a repeat of the rushed State of Decay/Sea of Thieves do we?

“The biggest benefit to all of this, is that all of these studios as well as the ones already under the Xbox umbrella can now share and help one another. Each of those developers now has resources they never had before.“

A good example is Rare helping Playground Games with Horizon 3’s water physics. MS aquiring new studios is great news for gamers and the developers

I guess you were also this upset when Sony bought Naughty Dog, right? or what if they bought Insomniac? Would that be moneyhatting too, or a good investment?

Get over yourself. The console won’t release for another 2-3 years as a minimum, which would give the X a good 3-4 years as top dog in the Xbox family. And even then, just because a new console is out doesn’t mean the current one suddenly stops working.

I also assume you were in the articles accusing Sony of not supporting Pro owners because they said they’re working on the PS5?

Ridiculous

They announced that because of the overwhelm perception that they were going to exit the console market

I also think that anyone who thought they weren’t working on it is ignorant - Sony’s working on the PS5 as well. Does that make the Pro irrelevant? Of course not

“Less dramatic”

I guess we’re going to gloss over the entire subplot in Gears 2 where we look for, find, and euthanise Dom’s wife? And then we’ll cut out Dom’s sacrifice in Gears 3 as well.

Gears 1 had great atmosphere, but very minimal story, and was criticised for it. I’d much prefer the character-driven approach

“Didn't like how they acted as if nothing from 2013 on were negative or that they dug a huge hole.”

Lol wtf? How is that something they can even convey?

Dumb Phil, not saying “hey sorry for 2013!” On stage /s

A huge blow? Why is this being treated as a huge blow instead of being a huge win for MS and Xbox gamers?

2953d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Literally nobody expected halo to release 2018, why is this an issue all of a sudden?

@getback

They announced with 5’s announcement that they would be moving away from numbers, which is why it was 5: Guardians.

But the art style is definitely moving away from 5 on purpose, and for the better

This Halo is a looooooong way out, per a blog post on Waypoint. I would expect gameplay till *maybe* next E3

EA has a mixed bag of games, so I’m always cautiously optimistic on what they do.

On one hand they made Mirror’s Edge, A Way Out, the better Battlefield games, the Titanfall games, etc

On the other, they’ve made the less exciting Battlefield entries, the Battlefront games, Mirror’s Edge 2, FIFA Ultimate Team nonsense, etc

So for me as a publisher they’re 50/50, and Respawn has a good track record as a developer (especially with the impr...

Fucking hell the number of agrees you have is atrocious.

Literally nothing in this article mentions online or GaaS - no mention of multiplayer at all. How the hell did you get “online GaaS nightmare” from this:

“Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will take place in the dark times between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope when the Jedi are being hunted, with the game being a pretty “dark” experience”

This strikes me more of a single player ga...

@godmars

“SP? EA?”

You know Respawn - who’s developing this game - made Titanfall 2’s excellent single player while under EA, right?

@Tear

Hahaha what?

The single player in Titanfall 2 is widely regarded as an excellent campaign. How is every person on the internet who says that paid by EA?

I don’t recall any Battlefield game having dismemberment

Looks pretty cool to me, I love how they’re presenting it in stages where each one is essentially a separate game mode.

And it looks about the same telling who’s on which team - teammates have an icon above their head and enemies don’t

Spot on. So why blur the controller? Seems kind of stupid, doesn’t it?

2956d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

So you like the idea of games as a service?
