I don’t understand this comment. What do you mean?
I mean, there was a trailer at E3, and then they had an announcement a few days ago that the Beta just opened up for Xbox Insiders.
Doesn’t really seem like ‘no one’ heard of it
Lol who cares? 9 million people have played, that’s all it’s saying. There’s no double speak or sleight of hand - it says what it means.
Did you go into the ‘5 million people got their licence in GT Sport’ article and say the same thing? What does that mean? Does it mean sold 5 million times or played 5 million times?? /s
People should stop worrying how many sales a game gets and start worrying how many players it has. Sales are great, but if it sells mul...
I think it’s more a sign of stupid devs who screw their player base on the first game and decide to make a super quick money grab with a sequel. Has nothing to do with the genre
Plenty of people played the Hungering Deep, it was really well received in the community.
I also think it’s unfair to have an update that comes out a month or two after launch be in charge of ‘bring players back or game is dead’, it doesn’t really work like that
Technically, yes - 0.24% of players unlocked the Achievement. But the Reddit user suggested that the 0.24% unlock is based on the 4 million total people who have played the game - of that 4 million, only 63% or so actually got on their boat and left port (also an Achievement). That's a little over 2.5 million players.
So with 0.24% of 4 million being 9,200 people, that 9,200 went into the 2.5 million to get approximately 0.36%.
So yeah, 0.24% or so ha...
So... Hour of Darkness, then?
Regardless of how desperate it is, it’s still a sweet benefit for those that want to take advantage of it. Why does how it came about lessen the positive impact?
You can definitely tell by the title which articles are written by Dualshockers
“Amazing looking PS4 Exclusive God of War gets Gorgeous 1080p screenshots” oh is it exclusive? I didn’t realise until I read the title, good to know /s
@blk
I replied to your other comment with my own, and all I’m going to say is what you’re describing is a completely different game.
More to my comment, the first guy at the top that I replied to didn’t have ‘skills, abilities, combat overhaul, progression’ system in his list, so your comment doesn’t really apply to this discussion
Yeah, like the other guy said, everything you listed has been getting added to the game consistently since the Hungering Deep update.
They’ve also started adding in fortnightly timed events/quests with themed loot/rewards, and the next major update comes out at the end of the month
What you’re describing is a different game.
That’s like saying “Halo 1 was good, the story was good and the shooting was great, but it needed third person, inventory management, turn based combat, a party system...”
Sea of Thieves was very specifically designed to not include gear/stat-based progression or abilities. If you don’t like that then that’s totally okay. But that’s the game they made and the one they wanted to make.
You’re 100% correct - so how would it hurt sales if they enabled more crossplay options?
“Sony fans are happy playing their games and have a huge install base of people to play with”
What about developers? I’m sure they want more people playing their games. Have you tried playing For Honor on PC? It’s pretty much dead, but very alive on consoles, and cross play would mean that every platform would always find a game.
Or Lawbreakers? The PS4 install base didn’t save it.
It’s not just about the platform
Yeah the Fallout brand is pretty underground, I don’t think many people have heard of it /s
Are you suggesting that he’s lying or making it up?
Does Epic have a marketing deal with MS? Does Psyonix? Why is that even part of the discussion?
Makes sense to me. 3 million copies means nothing if 3 million people traded in your game because they didn’t like it. The best way to tell how successful a game is is to see how many people are playing it.
That’s why developets make games, right? To have people play them? How does that not make sense?
That doesn't make the hours you spent on it any less fun though, does it? Isn't that what's most important?
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘look at what they had people saying about the X’. And I don’t think I ever saw that DF video, would you be able to find a link?
Well considering a month ago the number was 4 million, I’d say a good chunk of people still are
