I just recently saw that commercial while watching the UConn v.s. Michigan State NCAA game... go TarHeels!!
It's not a bad commercial, but the first time I saw it, I didn't hear the guy say anything about Mac's, but I just heard it this time.
If Mac's were a just a little bit less expensive, I would buy them over PC's, but eventually I am going to get a MacBook.
"Will GoW3 be fun? Abso-friggin-lutely. I have the utmost faith in Ready at Dawn Studios to make a fantastic product...."
That's one mistake right there. Ready At Dawn isn't developing God of War 3, Sony Santa Monica is.
God of War 3 doesn't have "RE5 Syndrome", the guy that wrote this has just been letting the hype get to him when it comes to games.
"...but don’t expect anything more than a glossed up recreation of the original...
What the heck is up with the Flamebait-like Title?
"Will 2009 be the final year of the PS2?" would have been suitable enough. If Sony decides to stop producing the PS2 in 2009, they won't be "dumping" it... “discontinuing” is the better term.... it just doesn't sound right ask if Sony will be "dumping" it to me if they've supported it for 9+ years.
Anyways, I think Sony will keep the PS2 out last until sometime in 2010. If the new Motor...
To put it simply, if the Xbox 360 isn't outselling the Wii now at $199 and being $50 bucks cheaper than the Wii, it'll never be able to outsell the Wii in the future and overtake it in sales.
It really doesn't matter how cheap the 360 gets or what Microsoft does because the Wii is appealing to both non-gamers and gamers alike, and it will always sell more for those reasons.
I don't understand how Sony be headed for "disaster" if they don't cut the PS3's price soon.
Even if PS3 sales continue to decline year-over-year in comparison to last year, the PS3 just isn't going to stop selling because there's just too many great games coming out for it to stop selling. It's going to continue to sell at the $399 price point, but just not as fast... I mean come on, the PS3 sold 270K+ in February NPD, is that REALLY a bad number for a console that's b...
Obviously the PS2 wont be competing with the Wii in terms of monthly sales, but what I think Sony meant was that the PS2 will serve as a secondary option for casual gamers in addition to the Wii.
There's definantly more quality games on the PS2... and the PS2 probably has more quality games than the Wii will ever have.
Most PS2 games aren't as casual as Wii games, but there's plenty of games on the PS2 that I think casual gamers could get into like Rachet and Clank, ...
As a Playstation guy, I never became a regular player of Shooters until I got a PS3 and until this gaming generation started. During previous gaming generations, I only played a very small handful of shooters, but now I'm pretty fond of them.
However, even though FPS isn't my favorite genre, I do like playing FPS games, and I had always been anticipating Killzone 2 ever since it was announced, so for me it was a day one purchase and I really wanted to support the title.

Well for me personally, if I'm given the choice to be either good or evil in a game, 80% of the time I do good deeds and I may sprinkle a little evilness in here and there, and that's exactly how I played Fallout 3 for the first time. The majority of the time I would do things to get my Karma up in Fallout 3, but when I was low on Food or Supplies I would Steal supplies from someone else in the game world.
When it comes to making decisions in a game, pretty much I make the decisi...
@ Fishy,
I totally agree. Microsoft just has one platform on the market, therefore all of their focus and money is behind the 360, but when you've got 3 platforms on the market at the same time like Sony and have all of the Internal Studios to manage, you just can't blow 30 million on advertising for just ONE game.
30 million could be 1 big budget PS3 game, or maybe even a couple of PSP games like the new Motorstorm PSP game and new Jak and Daxter PS2/PSP games comi...
"If I understand correctly, it's actually considered voiding your warranty because you're using an uncertified device with the PS3 hardware."
Nah, I wouldn't say that it's voiding the warranty because the PS2 Adapters were compatible with the PS3 before the new Firmware was released without any issues without voiding a warranty, so why should it be considered voiding a warranty now that a new Firmware has caused compatibility problems with the PS3?
I doubt ...
I wouldn't be surprised if DeadSpace Extraction for the Wii Flops too... it seems like pretty much the only games that really sell on the Wii are games that begin with "Wii" (WiiFit) or Nintendo franchise games (Mario, Zelda)
Sega just can't seem to catch a break... Yakuza 3 is only avaliable in Japan and they should really release the game in the U.S. and Europe, and a lot of the good Sega games like MadWorld and Valkyria Chronicles don't sell well.
I think OnLive is a little ahead of it's time... something like OnLive sounds like something for a next-generation console, not now.
OnLive could probably work right now in Japan because they've got very fast internet speeds and a lot of Japan's population is connected to the Internet... but even if it came out in Japan, the Japanese wouldn't buy it anyways because it's an American product, lol.
I guess the Star Ocean boost has reached it's peak for the 360 in Japan... it's been a while since I can remember 360 sales being THIS low... I guess it's time for M$ to secure another JRPG :)
With the FFVII Advent Children PS3 bundles coming out this month, PS3 sales should be pretty healthy this month in the Land of the Rising Sun.
And I agree with Sonarus, I didn't expect PS3 sales to be this high in Japan for this long, but with so many games that appeal to the J...
I don't think Killzone 2 could be done on the 360 without some major compromises first.
Even Guerrilla themselves said that without anything less than 25 Gigs (Blu-ray) it wouldn't have been possible... and that would mean that a 360 version would have to be done on multiple discs, plus many other changes.
Up until now, Gears of War has pretty much been the 360's best in terms of visuals (and probably technical aspects as well), so until I see something on the 360 th...
@ Bubbles
The first think you need to do is create a Folder on an External Storage device such as a USB drive and Name the Folder: PS3
Then make another Folder Within the PS3 Folder (a Sub-Folder) and name it: UPDATE (make sure that the Folder name is in All Caps)
Then you simply download the Update and put the File inside of the UPDATE Folder.
After that, on the XMB, select System Update and then Select: Update via Storage Media, and then t...
My 60Gig PS3 does get warm pretty quickly even with plenty of ventilation, but for the most part it's relatively quiet.
I've noticed that sometimes the fan on my 60 Gig goes up and down depending on the game I'm playing... sometimes the fan speed goes up as soon as I start up a simple PS1 game and the fan stays at a audible level, and then there's times when it's mostly quiet while playing a PS2 or PS3 game.
Whenever I'm in a pretty small room, at times my 60Gig PS3 ...
I have several of the the movies listed on this list on Blu-ray, but many of them of them are Blu-ray's that I've always been planning on buying in the near future like Wall-E, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Black Hawk Down.
I already have Transformers on Standard DVD, but I've always planned on buying it again on Blu-ray.
One movie that greatly anticipating coming out on Blu-ray is HEAT... that film is a classic and just one of the few movies with Rober...
This is ElPresador from Youtube... he has become pretty popular very fast. I watch his vids because he totally cracks me up... I never thought there was fanboys this old until I stumbled upon this guy on Youtube, lol.
I loved the Japanese accent when they said "Playstation 3".
SquareEnix could definantly cash in big time if they released the FFXIII demo in Europe and the United States.... but I guess they wouldn't want to go through the trouble of localizing it for all of the various territories (especially Europe).
PS3 sales should be pretty healthy this month in the Far East :)
After playing Uncharted, it's just amazing that Naughty Dog is able to improve the game itself even MORE, because after playing Uncharted you would think that there would hardly be anything to improve upon because the game just looked so good.
Naughty Dog has always been one of my favorite devs. though, been a major follower of ALL their games since the first Crash Bandicoot. After Uncharted 2, I want a next-gen Jak game Naughty Dog :)
