Oh My God! There's only a few seconds difference between startup times, this is just BAD /sarcasm.
Both the Slim and regular PS3 are 2 different types of hardware, so this is not really surprising.
Despite the headline, Batman Arkham Asylum actually loaded FASTER on the PS3 Slim, so there's really no telling of the PS3 Slim is "slower" but a few seconds of loading difference is nothing to complain about because both the old and Slim PS3 play games and other...
My picks:
-The Getaway 3 on PS3
-BLACK (Yeah, I know there's already too many FPS's, but I would love a sequel)
-Jak and Daxter on PS3
- Ico sequel
- Twisted Metal
- Sly Cooper
This guy must be crazy.... there's already been enough delays this Fall, but he's asking for more? NOOO way!
If more games were delayed, then our wallets/bank accounts would be hurting even more once Q1-Q2 2010 comes rolling around... 2010 is going to be one EPIC year for games, that's for sure.
Since the Early 2010 lineup is already crowded (Mass Effect 2, God of War 3, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, MAG, Bioshock 2, Splinter Cell, etc...) I just hope that games that got d...
For anyone that reads this that has their own site that wants to post this or for anyone that's just interested, David Jaffe has already posted a response video to the Twitter user about Used Games:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I personally don't buy Used games, and I buy all my games New. The only game I've bought used is Ico like 7 or 8 years ago, and I only bought it u...
"the PS3's woes are presumably due to a lack of supply and anticipation for the upcoming slimline revision."
Ummm... Yeah, no Sh*t. There's already been numerous Japanese retailers reporting sellouts of PS3 stock. Little stock = Little sales, so it's to be expected.
The Intial Week the Slim comes out, the PS3 will probably sell more than what the 360 has sold for the entire month of August in Japan, so no worries here.
@MaxPower,
Yeah, Sony had been ramping up PS3 production a LOT over the past few months:
http://www.digitimes.com/ne...
http://kotaku.com/5329527/s...
Sony came prepared, that's for sure, and they are probably anticipating a Tidal Wave of PS3 demand once Final Fantasy XIII ...
Yep, I couldn't agree more.
I really do love the New IP approach from Sony, but I really do hope that they go back to their back-catalog of games that were on the PS1/PS2 that have yet to hit the PS3.... there's a ton of really great franchises under Sony that really deserve to be revived.
I can see why Sony canceled Eight Days... I mean, both Uncharted and Eight Days had pretty much the same type of gameplay, the only difference is that Eight Days was a little more "flashy" with special stunts and stuff.
I know many will disagree with me, but because of Uncharted, I don't think that Eight Days was even needed.....Who knows, maybe some of the assets from Eight Days can be implemented into a future Uncharted game or some other 1st party PS3 exclusive.
The PS3 now being priced at $299 definitely makes the Wii look overpriced, but the Wii is still selling pretty good even though it hasn't had a price cut yet.
Since the Wii has been aimed at the casual audience since it first came out, and has been priced within a pretty affordable price range to begin with, I think a Wii price cut would obviously boost sales, but I don't think that it'll go back to selling as much as it did whenever it was hard to find one on store shelves.
@ps3gogetitt,
Definitely get Uncharted 1. To me, you won't be able to fully appreciate Uncharted 2's many improvements unless you play Uncharted 1 first. There are some returning characters in Uncharted 2 (like Elena), so playing Uncharted 1 will help you get familiar with them.
Hmmmm..... I'll believe it when I see it Square.
Either way, I still expect Final Fantasy Versus XIII to look better than FFXIII because when a dev. is working on one platform and only has to focus about optimizing the game for one platform, even more quality can be achieved.
The fact that every year, PS3 exclusive games continue to push new boundaries is pretty much all the proof I need to come to the conclusion that Versus XIII will definitely look better than XIII...
Proud 60GB PS3 owner since December 2006, and I'd do it all over again if I had to. I started putting away money for the PS3's launch months before it launched, so price was never an issue for me.... honestly I didn't even care about the price, all I knew was that I wanted Sony's next amazing game console in my house ASAP!!
I paid about $100 dollars more than the suggested retail of $599 because when I got mine (Dec. 06') PS3's were sold out everywhere, but I don't regret it. Pl...
Cajun,
Yeah I fully agree, and I think that you are one of the few people on this site that share the same love for the Jak franchise as I do, and I loved all 3 Jak adventure games equally, and I loved the new direction that Jak 2 and 3 took.
If there's a new Jak game for the PS3, I hope that Naughty Dog keeps the same "darker" and mature tone that was in Jak 2 and 3. It would be cool if Naughty Dog went with a more "realistic" look and feel for a...
Mooks,
Naughty Dog didn't "abandon" Crash Bandicoot. If you haven't noticed yet, a lot of Sony's own in-house studios usually move on to NEW Original IP's after each generation.
I bought all of the Crash Bandicoot games that Naughty Dog developed and loved them all, but seriously, after 4 Naughty Dog developed Crash Bandicoot games, what else new could Naughty do that wasn't already done before in the game? Nothing much really.
Well, if this turns out to be true, I might hold off on buying a PSP Go, as I've yet to buy a PSP, but I might just get the Go in addition to a 4000, because I do like the portability that the Go offers, and I still prefer physical media for games over downloads.
I imagine The PSP-4000 probably won't even be released until next Summer or Fall at the earliest.... Hopefully the PSP-4000 will be the last hardware revision on the PSP so that Sony can get to work on the Successor to t...
There's no way in in the world I would trade in my 60GB for the Slim.... I just love the overall sleek and sexiness of it over the Slim.
Even though I'm not a huge fan of the PS3 Slim design, I still think the redesign was a pretty good decision on Sony's part to appeal to a wider audience at this new $299 price.
The Shiny, Sleeker looking PS3 just looked a lot more high end, and expensive, but the more "Subdued" look of the Slim just looks like something that...
My honest opinion: Forza 3 will probably get slightly higher review scores, Forza 3 has great graphics, but Gran Turismo 5 has a slight edge in the graphical department, and Gran Turismo 5 will sell more because every GT game has sold over 9 million copies.
GT is dubbed "The Real Driving Simulator", and this is what Gran Turismo excels at, it's what GT has always done best. GT isn't about extensive exterior car customization, it's about the pure Realistic Driving/Racing...
"She wrote "When the Xbox 360 developed a common fault outside the warranty period, Microsoft fixed it for free."
The obvious reason why Microsoft repairs for free up to 3 years is because the 360 has already been known for it's numerous hardware issues worldwide, the PS3 has never suffered from hardware issues on a Mass Scale like the 360, so a 3 year warranty wasn't exactly a necessity, and most electronics come standard with a 1 year warranty anyways (including ...
"Wait until GT5 and FF13... "
Ha ha ha! Yeah, that's right, wait until FFXIII and GT5 and watch the Xbox 360's 8 million lead disappear by a few Million, I can't wait!
NOPE. I'm not pre-ordering GT5 until I get confirmation of a Collectors Edition first.
I just hope that a Special Edition of GT5 isn't Exclusive to Europe because I've been noticing a lot more PS3 games from Sony have been getting the Collectors Edition/Special Edition treatment in Europe (like inFamous and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time), but not so much in the U.S.... I guess it must have something to do with Europe being Sony's biggest territory for PS3 sales.
