This review doesn't even matter. MGS4 has already been considered one of the best games of this generation by major video game reviewers. MGS isn't a game for everybody, and MGS4 is a epic game title and it's better than anything else that's been released this 7th generations of gaming.
The Strategy Guide is definantly worth the money. Unlocking additional stuff in the game will add hours and hours of gameplay after you just have fun and beat the game the first time.
There's so many secrets in MGS4 and so much stuff to see it's just crazy. Once you beat a MGS game the first time, you almost ALWAYS find or see something that you didn't find the first time you played through the game.
Right now I've put more hours of gameplay into MGS4 than I've p...
Maybe if Valve brought Left4Dead to the PS3, maybe PS3 owners would be satisfied, but Valve loves PC based development to death and loves Microsoft.
The PS3 install base in Japan is a little over 2 million, and MGS4 sold almost half a million units in the first week in Japan alone, so it's obvious that the majority of the people waiting for MGS4 in Japan that currently have PS3's already have it.
Basically 1/4 of the people in Japan that have PS3's have MGS4 and that's a VERY high attach rate. As PS3 sales continue to increase in Japan, I'm sure that MGS4 will sell a million units in Japan or more, but you've just got to gi...
I definantly think that there will be another MGS game.
But I would REALLY love to see a MGS game with Raiden as the main character and the events of the game would take place directly after MGS2 and the game would end when Raiden met up with Snake in South America in MGS4, then the ending scene of the game would be Raiden throwing off his jacket attacking the Gekko.
There's a lot about Raiden that I would like to find out about. A lot of people hated Raiden after pl...
It's not Sony's fault that they built a Console that was future proof and had more advanced technology. But I do think that as developers get more and more used to the PS3's hardware that PS3 games will eventually end up edging out 360 Multiplatform games in every aspect.
I really respect 3rd party developers like Konami, Digi-Guys, and SquareEnix for developing PS3 exclusives and actually trying to get the most out of the PS3.
I also have to give Insomniac a pat...
There aren't any games coming out worth paying $59.99 for, plus, I'm still playing MGS4 for a second time and trying to get Foxhound and/or Fox Rank.
The only other games for the PS3 for 2008 that I'm looking forward too a lot is Resistance 2. I'm getting LittleBigPlanet and Motorstorm 2 for sure, but other than that, there's no other exclusives that I really want.
I'm not excited about Bioshock coming to the PS3, but I'm going to pick it up anyways.... I never saw Bioshock has a "must have game", but the fact that it's coming to the PS3 is good enough reason for me to get it. Resistance 2 and Bioshock 2 are coming...
I think that if Microsoft bought Sega, they would be just wasting money.
Microsoft would have to offer EA a boatload of money (Billions of dollars) to buy EA and there's no way that EA would be bought out when they are buying out other studios like Bioware.
Epic Games is the only game studio that I could realistically see Microsoft buying out.
I don't think that Micrsoft will have to worry about Bungie straying too far from them because Bungie will...
Microsoft would have to spend a few Billion dollars to buy EA and that would NEVER happen.
I'm just glad that Sony has plenty of their own 1st party studios and they don't have to rely on 3rd party.
Microsoft can buy all the timed 3rd party exclusives they want, but those same games have a very high chance of ending up coming out on the PS3 one way or another just like Bioshock.
MGS4 has already moved PS3 hardware. One week in Japan PS3 sales were around 10,000-11,000 units and after MGS4 dropped, PS3 sales skyrocketed to over 70,000 units the following week and that's a HUGE jump.
All of the 80GB PS3 MGS4 bundles sold out in the U.S.
There will be people buying PS3's for MGS4 even if they aren't fans of MGS because they know that MGS4 is an anticipated game title, and it's something that they just have to check out because it's one of t...
Ever since I saw the trailer for this game, I have been looking forward too it and it's been on my 2008 games list, and I didn't know that the PS3 had switched to the lead platform, and if that's the case, it's definantly a must buy for me.
MGS4 is just one of the greatest games I've ever played. High quality cinematics, addicting stealth/action gameplay, brilliant sound quality, so many plots and twists that keep you looking forward to every cutscene... it's just a nearly perfect game in every aspect. I wish that every game could be made of the same quality that MGS4 was... and the good thing about MGS4, it's ONLY on the PS3.
MGS4 is the ONLY game to be released in this generation of consoles that when I started ...
After finishing MGS4 for the 1st time, and just starting playing the game a second time (trying to unlock more Emblems), MGS4 is definantly one of the best games I've played EVER. And it's definantly the best game of this current gen across ALL consoles. The entire game is literally flawless and the Transition between In-Game Cutscenes and Gameplay is SEAMLESS and it really blew me away.
And the thing I love about MGS4 is that once you beat the game one time, you've only begun ...
At first I actually thought that the PS3 would be missing out on a good game title until later on this Fall, but it looks like it didn't turn out that way.
I know one thing for sure, Atari had better polish up Alone in the Dark in the Fall for the PS3.
And since the PS3 version isn't coming out until the Fall it really SHOULD be better because Atari will have read all of the game reviews by then and they could just use the reviews as a reference and improve in ar...
I thought that Halo 3 got a higher Metacritic score than a 94/100, but in complete honesty, MGS4 is a better game than both Gears of War and Halo 3, so it's only fitting that it topped those games.
Kojima Productions made a masterpiece of a game.
Honestly I don't think that Sony has to buy exclusives because they already have so many 1st Party Studios and there are already 3rd party studios doing Exclusive games for the PS3 like SquareEnix with FFXIII and Digi-Guys with Wardevil. I think that more and more 3rd party developers will be more and more interested in doing Exclusive projects for the PS3 once they realize what they can actually do and what they can ONLY do on a PS3.
Microsoft's practice of paying for exclusiv...
Well, Sony has always been an attractive brand to casual gamers regardless, I mean, Sony's PS1 and PS2 both sold over 100 million units Worldwide, and for a console to do that back to back, there was some impact on Casual gamers somewhere during that time.
I really don't think that Sony has to try as hard to attract Casual gamers because they already have in the past. I think that it's Microsoft that will have the toughest time trying to appeal to Casual gamers because the 360 ...
I definantly think that the Call of Duty series should have stayed in the Modern Day era.
Something is telling me that even though Call of Duty 5 is going back to the WWII era, it could be about just as successful as COD4, but it will probably sell a few million units less than COD4... A lot of people (including me) never played a Call of Duty game until COD4 came about and for me the reason why I had never played a COD game before is because they were set in WWII and I had no ...
It's a shame that a no-name reviewer like this has to give one of the best games this decade a low score just to get some publicity... what a shame.
Free Paper isn't even a dedicated video game reviewer, so their review isn't even credible, but you'll always have haters out there and it means nothing.
