Just be aware that all the money you spend online is not yours.
It doesn't matter if you purchase and download a game. It has limits. These limits are stated in the terms and conditions. Free PSN, PS+, and Xbox Live are services, not products...and everything you access is activated on their servers.
"the company that comes out first will be the one to rip the most rewards, the most fruits."
Not true this generation. As I've already stated the Wii released last.
"Go ahead, release PS4 before, or simultaneously with the “Xbox 720″ or “Wii 2″, grow your install base while PS3 continues to grow too. If the company from the land of the rising sun can accomplish this, there’s not doubt in my mind the glory days will come back once more."...
"...sectors of the hardware giant had to be shut down.... thousands of people lost their jobs.."
It's true that Sony lost billions on the PS3. They were losing money with HDTVs due to Samsung as well. Sony was chopping jobs in all sectors except the gaming division. Whether they did this because of the PS3 remains to be seen but one thing is for sure...the PS3 was seen as an investment by Sony right from the start. How do I know? Just look up all the money ...
"So the problem here is not even pricing, it’s more about strategy."
Strategy is a factor. Being first doesn't always matter.
The Wii released after the PS3 and well after the 360. It is in first place today.
Microsoft's strategy was to get their product out first to gain an advantage. That advantage was a short term one due to the fact that they sacrificed reliable hardware. It came at a price of losing long term customers who...

Valid point. What I'm seeing is a quick change in formats both on the Television front and on the movie format front. Blu-Ray and digital downloading were also created to reduce piracy. As a matter of fact any product that isn't in the hands of the masses will reduce piracy. However all these new changes comes at a premium price to the consumer looking to invest in these new technologies.
When Blu-Ray came out it was much more expensive to buy than DVD. The indus...
In general I think the technology offerings are being introduced a little too fast. High Definition technology just started and already we went from 480p to 1080p.
Now we are introduced with 120fps televisions and 3D televisions. It took 20+ years to change standard television to something different and now this change is happening too rapidly. The question is why?
I'm happy with my 1080P HDTV. As for Sony pushing 3D...I'm just a tad disappointe...
On a side note. The best way to improve both versions is to do the PS3 first and then port over to the 360. For some reason the other way around produces less favorable results. This could be PR spin or it may be true. Either way if you wanted to improve the 360 cores, like you asked, then maybe you should look into the porting news discussed about a year ago. At the time the whole "PS3 lead platform" seemed fanboyish but maybe today we can look at that possibility as something ...
It's hard to say because the information in the media changed about the 360 hardware. In the early PS3 days, all I read about is how the 360 CPU was completely different than the PS3 CELL and how the CELL was junk, how the 360 was more powerful and unlike the PS3.
Today the mass media is singing a different tune. I've read that the 360 CPU is now similar to the CELL in design and even had relationships in the designing of it.
When the PS3 CELL was b...
I remember when everyone said the PS3 didn't have the power or the architecture to overpower the 360 graphically.
Anti-aliasing was probably the biggest difference between the PS3 and 360 versions of titles. Now that MLAA is being used in Sony exclusive titles I find no excuse acceptable to see inferior PS3 multiplatform titles due to no anti-aliasing.
The tools are out there and it would be in Sony's best interest to release this ability to 3rd p...
about 1.4 million copies worldwide. I'd say that's better than initially thought. Enough to warrant a sequel considering it being a new IP.
Killzone 3 looks more realistic and detailed to me. Crysis 2 looks more like they are using shine on objects which makes it look more detailed. Shine seems to be overused this gen because it's the most noticeable effect in high definition. But look at the details of the blocks on the buildings in Crysis 2. Doesn't look like they have many textures on the surfaces of the objects.
So, overall Crysis 2 looks shinier with a ramped up resolution. Crisper picture wit...
I agree with everything you said for the most part. For some reason though I've been getting picky about the systems I play them on. This started to happen last generation with the Xbox/PS2/Cube.
The video game industry is starting to interrupt my gaming enjoyment by controlling the video games and their access depending on what system they are on.
For example, last gen I owned all three consoles and started to prefer the Xbox versions to most video...
Can someone please explain what makes video games great? As far I know gamers like to experience something new. In a market that has always lacked a lot of variety I'm surprised at what I'm hearing this generation.
These mass market gamers are beginning to make me sick. The foundation of their rating systems and opinions toward gaming baffle me. The game industry AND gamers have always embraced creativity and uniqueness. I remember when reviewers would give a high...
Don't take Heavenly Sword's game length bashing to heart. The media and fanboys were in the kick of bashing the PS3 at the time for every little thing. I played Heavenly Sword and the length is just fine.
It doesn't have online and the game industry seems to think that the heart in gaming means having online for everything. God of War and God of War II are about the same length on PS2 and no one complained. They praise those titles and hold them up to epic s...
It's the only game I know of that has problems "finding players". I bought the DLC and it is even slower.
My advice in general is to get the basics right first. Stop releasing games that are broken on disc with the intent of fixing months later. Because once this generation is over I don't expect to see the servers to be around...and I don't want to be left with a broken coded disc with no server to fix it.
Next? Start allowing own...
