Mass market is ruining video games. With mass market comes social people. With social people comes social content. With social content comes a foundation for popularity. With popularity comes demand. With demand comes the product. In exchange for the product comes money and profit.

These people do not demand a better product. They do not demand quality. They only demand more ways to play with their friends and family.

They took points off when the PS3 costed 600.00. They took points off Socom for releasing with bugs even though updates fixed it. They took points off because some games were less popular than others (see GTA IV). I don't see why they couldn't dock points for a game perceived to be incomplete without the DLC in question. Sure.

I can't imagine paying for each member of the family. It's the reason I don't play Xbox Live. This case alone would cost me 36.00. Where's the social gaming experience when they have fees like this?

“We have to pay for servers and all this different stuff to maintain it, and so at some point, you know, games have to make money.”

What's the difference if 1 gamer plays online for 3 years vs. 3 gamers taking turns playing it online for 3 years?

The answer? 10.00 profit vs. 30.00 profit. The server usage stays the same because there is only one disc.

I haven't really seen special since PSN got Plus. It's like they went to appeal to the masses with the slim and then started catering to Plus subscribers.

The true target for antipiracy is the common consumer. This isn't a situation where they go after pirates and the consumer has to deal with it. These developers think honest consumers are their main problem of profit loss followed by the true thieves that steal their games.

Every time you buy used these developers see it as a piracy act. Every time you lend a video game to a friend or family member these developers see it as a piracy act. Every time a used game retailer...

I've been happy with the Playstation 3 ever since launch. As a matter of fact I believe it was best during it's first two years. Somehow I feel they faded abit from their core audience to appeal to the masses. If I had a choice I'd definately boot up my launch PS3, play on Linux, and experience PS2 in HD once again.

There was an announcement about 6 months ago by Atlus stating they weren't cutting the service in March 2011. I think this petition is helping to decide the game's fate.

After watching Guitar Hero for long periods of time I see everything around me stretch in a vertical motion.

Playing Super Stardust HD on a big HDTV makes me dizzy.

No person nor entity is immune to a lawsuit even if both parties agree to it. The law is there to enforce contracts and agreements sure but only if those agreements do not conflict with other laws set in place to keep balance and justice present at all times. There are consumer laws set in place that supercede a corporation's law (contracts). One of which is...

I buy a lot of video games. So far I've purchased 90+ PS3 games. Many are exclusives. Yet I just can't seem to keep up with the selection offered because they come in too fast. Then I have to consider the rest of the games on PS3.

I believe that the gamers who are really into video games this generation will end up buying every game they want. Yet I wouldn't be surprised if their pocket books are light like mine is right now.

I can't wait for this game.

Waited a long time for them to make a game based on the second movie.

I don't mind having motion controls as a way to interact with a video game. Yet I feel as if motion gaming, above other things, is being pushed as the standard way to interact with video games.

I believe that motion controllers should be used in certain types of games where one can really benefit from it. It should be used selectively based on the type of interactivity a video game offers. For example, a steering wheel for a driving game, a flight stick for a flying ...

I waited since 1986 to see a game based on the Aliens movie. 25 years later I get a chance to play one based specifically from that one movie. Now while my preference is to have all the original crewmembers reenacting the movie itself, I cannot complain much as long as the marines have some memorable personalities.

About 10 years ago this game was announced for development on the PS2. I was more than excited to see that they finally decided to make a game that captured t...

Agree with article but they failed to mention some other issues:

1) Lack of Ownership- This is a big one because most people don't see just how negatively online is impacting physical ownership. If Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo decide one day to stop making consoles (like Sega) or go out of business, then that means they will discontinue their online service. If they stop their online service then everything you obtained from that service is gone.

So ...

A lot of these older titles died out because they forgot what made them great in the first place. One of the biggest mistakes was trying to make 2D games evolve into 3D.
