I specifically bought my 300.00 PS3 for Minis. All you need is a 50.00 handbag (sold by Sony of course) and one of those Sony 600.00 3DTVs.
When I'm bored I take my mobile gaming experience to the next level. I go to Taco Bell, Walmart, or maybe even Starbucks and hookup my gear. People stare, sure, but only because they can't compete with superior, but enlarged, mobile gaming equipment.
In conclusion, the article is simply not true....and nei...
I want this game. I just finished watching the video on Amazon. Looks fantastic. Anyone who played the original X-COM game should check this out. I, for one, played the X-COM: UFO Defense on the Playstation One when the console first came out. One of my all time favorites. I will definately get this on release.
I don't understand how the PS3 numbers are accurate. It doesn't match up to the global totals I see everyday. According to this chart the PS3 should be well ahead of where they are claiming it stands today. For example the chart shows the PS3 outselling the 360 for years but yet the PS3 remains 2 million behind the 360. Are the Wii numbers right? Their sales have dropped drastically. What happened?
More specifically, you never owned the contents of the disc either. It could never be enforced however because there was never a system of control to govern it. Instead they would claim you have a license and nothing more. In execution it really made no difference between having a license and the sense of ownership.
In digital they can enforce the "license" of the disc content by removing the disc from the equation. However, the industry has taken the process ...
Agreed.
It's hard to say without knowing why casual gamers play games in the first place. Is it because their friends play? Is it because their family plays? Is it because it's popular? Or do they play video games because they like video games for what they are?
If video games have become a fad or are riding on the back of popularity then I'd have to say the game industry is in trouble.
Initially, the game industry was supposed to create a way to in...
He also went on record about supporting PSN account sharing with friends. Though it's an old statement before Playstation 3 got on it's feet.
“You can send that content to four other friends for that initial investment,” said Tretton. “We want to get the game in as many hands as possible.”
The original Xbox Live dropped support for the first console on April 15th 2010.
Feb 2010 (Giant Bomb)-
"This move will extend to Xbox 360 owners, as well, meaning that original Xbox games that run via the 360's backwards compatibility feature as well as digitally downloaded Xbox Originals will also stop functioning online on 4/15. Offline play in games for the original Xbox should continue without issue...
The reasoning behind this move hasn't be...
Reason #5- The digital format is not as reliable as one may think. Physical copies can be destroyed through misuse, yes. Yet the potential is still present to allow preservation if one so chooses it.
The digital, however, is restricted by forces outside one's control. Harddrives are not as reliable due to moving parts. Servers can forget. Businesses go under...and service providers stop serving. The risk for loss is much greater especially if one dedicates him/hers...
I wouldn't be suprised if this sells millions. People just don't see beyond the price tag. It isn't much different than 2006 when the PS3 was 599.99 with free online vs. the 399.99 Xbox 360 with 60/year Live subscription and hidden purchases.
Unfortunately Microsoft's nickel and dime strategy is effective and gives their consumer base the illusion of choice when, in reality, that choice benefits those in the short term.
Well said. I can say from experience on the PS3 that the backups will not allow copyrighted content. Now, using common sense, that's everything you wanted to backup in the first place. They even consider game saves copyrighted.
I've tried the backup and the old PS3/new PS3 transfer using a link cable. Here's what I've found. The PS3 backs up the copyrighted games and saves in a deactivated form, meaning it's all useless without server reactivation....
What he is saying is that we don't own the game itself, just the license. It has always been this way but many consumers in the physical age never noticed the difference...on consoles at least.
Developers have been going after used game retailers for years. In the developer's eyes the used game retailer and the used game buyer are pirates. However, the law stated this was not so. I'll tell you why in a minute.

I don't hate Call of Duty. I hate what it stands for.
Call of Duty stands for that toy every kid wanted for Christmas. It sends a clear message to the developers that video games don't have to have high quality. They don't need a strong single player. They don't even have to change the sequels much. All they have to do is make it socially popular.
For the typical hobbyist it feels like a huge foreign crowd came in unannounced, staying ...

1) If site A gives 100% and site B gives 50% then the average should be 75%. Mathamatically speaking, in order to obtain an average you add all the scores together and divide by the number of scores involved. This is not the case, however, with Metacritic and their current policies. I'll tell you why.
With Metacritic, each review site is given a "weighted" value because "some critics consistently write better (more detailed, more insightful, more articul...
I'm hoping there will be some strategy involved in dealing with the alien menace. Some of the earlier articles stated the ability to seal off entry points to help the marines strategically defend themselves. Set up turrets, weld doors and ducts, and maybe have the ability to give orders to an android to go do things a normal human would get killed doing. For example, you can send an android to a part of the facility that will lock down air ducts in key locations and force the aliens in...
I have a good feeling about this one.
