I have a 7200RPM conventional HDD in my slim PS3. It's probably the best choice for noticeable improvement with the least amount of cash spent. Keep in mind that these faster HDDs generate more heat. I have to stand my PS3 vertically to prevent cases of overheating (something that didn't happen with the fat model using the same drive. Ironic since the older PS3's ran hotter to begin with.)
Also, it seems the improvements on these games appear to happen due to ...
Graphics can be a crutch. The biggest warning sign for myself is when a developer boasts the graphics as it's focal selling point.
Yet anything outside of gameplay can also be a "crutch". Motion control, 3D, 1080P, story, multiplayer, etc. can all be used as the main "crutch" to carry a video game. I consider all things outside great gameplay to be enhancements to further benefit an already great video game. I do believe story to be the greatest ...
What if your single player disc requires the online pass one day in the future in order to play the game? Even better, what if your digital downloads are no longer available?
Now, I wouldn't mind these servers shutting down if there was an unrestricted way to backup your data. Yet there are way too many factors of software control that lead me to believe video games will be nothing more than a rental service masked as a product for purchase. Just look at Sony's r...
People should voice their opinions to the developer to make sure they do this one right. I've waited 25+ years for this and I don't want them to mess it up.
This game has potential to be great. It's likely to be THE game fans have been waiting for based off the "Aliens" movie.
Disconnected from human values. That's why they are failing. All they need is a good story many people can relate to. Times are tough so I'm sure they can build a good game from that. Even FF VII can relate to this day. Can't say much else.
Tooth Decay.
This video explains how the same people who scream piracy are the ones that distribute the software!
I only regret choosing to play video games when there was something more important to do. I like to get all my responsibilities done so that I may enjoy the game.
I doubt the PS3 will have less than a 10 year cycle. The PS2 had a long lifecycle but that is because the system made so much money. Yet the PSP and the UMD format are still around today despite struggling all these years. I think that Sony backs their technology for as long as they can even if a successor like the PS4 is released. For a time I believed that the PS2 was an intergenerational console because it was doing so well for so long in the following console generation. The PS2 may ...
Just put it in the options next to hints.
I have many scattered thoughts to express regarding this game. Yet I don't quite know how to present them. I wish to express my thoughts on several topics including the article, the zombie genre, this game specifically, and it's place among video games this generation.
First I wish to state that I, for the most part, do not have much interest in zombie games. I did like the first two Resident Evil games on the PS1 and had less interest in part 3 where Nemesis chase...
It proved that, for the most part, that high quality games don't matter much anymore. What matters is how well the game can integrate friends so they can play together. They've started a seperate market of gamers who value different things.
The main question I have for an expiration date is why? Why are they placing an expiration date on new titles? Are they saying "Buy new...but buy new at full price"???
To me it seems like these passes will be free for those who buy the game new before a price drop. Does this mean I have to open up all the Christmas games I bought at the end of November? When do these passes expire?
I'm completely aware of where this is ultimately heading....
It's only going to get worse. The more control they have then the more control they'll push for. In the end single player games will sit behind a pass.
My main interest in Metal Gear is Solid Snake and his story, not Raiden. He seemed shoehorned into the series since Sons of Liberty. I do have interest in Big Boss's story but it's a distant 2nd. Other than that I consider Metal Gear sequels to be nothing more than a Metal Gear "Universe" and not a sequel.
Microsoft will announce their next console when the PS3 is a threat to 2nd place. My guess is at E3 2012...about the time the PS3 ties the 360 for 2nd place.
Well that's stupid.
I think that making video games a social fad is ruining video games in general. Video games don't appear to score or sell based on it's quality anymore...just popularity.
I don't mind open world games as long as they don't detract too far from the main point of the storyline. Shooting 200+ pigeons in GTAIV is an example of a pointless sandbox style gameplay feature. Open world games with things to do need to have some sort of relevancy toward the main plot even if it means getting a unique weapon to help you on the main quest. I want open world games with a focal point.
