Imagine the headline if it didn't
When I saw the game at E3 there was never any doubt the current consoles could replicate the graphics. The doubt sources from whether they would. Now that it is a known fact it is a PC demo the issue arises on it's ability to become a current gen product.
The article states that this game has saved current gen gaming. Had the developers either 1) stated it as a PC demo, or 2) showed a console demo, then there would be a more clear foundation for the viewers to judge ...
Article writes:
"The gorgeous and incredibly unique aesthetic could almost be considered next-gen, while the remarkable concept and gameplay mechanics already look more fleshed-out and polished than some of the retail titles out today."
Ubisoft should be "under the gun" right now for showing a top-of-the-line PC demo at a 6 year old console show and not telling the audience. They should be placed under extreme pressure to make what everyone saw...
Don't see much interest about this game. Day 1 purchase for me though. I hope it sells well.
At least the ads are interested.
I want to see the console version.
Let's stop for a second and think about what happened here. Ubisoft comes to E3 and displays a "top-of-the-line" PC demo during a console presentation. A 6 year old console to be exact. Now people are asking if this is a next-gen game.
How would people feel if the PC version of Crysis 3 was shown at E3 during a Wii conference? How did people react when Killzone 2 was shown with prerendered footage?
The point I'm trying to make is...
The lack of Raziel is why I came here.
Kain: You see Raziel? You are but a pawn in the circle of time. No one shall remember you, for the coin of rememberance has landed on it's edge. The generation of past can only remember what is left from the endurance of time. At best the generation of today will receive a glimpse of our true light. If that coin lands in their favor Raziel, we will be nothing more than a DLC pack for another franchise.
Raz...
Focus on a great story (The reason for a prequel).
Focus on bringing back that feeling of continuous kicking @$$.
Make the combat flow like it did in the first GOW.
Don't push the console graphics so hard it slows down the combat.
A great time to rekindle that connection between the gamer and Kratos' pain.
I don't think I ever passed that game. My vague memory remembers a puzzle in a sewer? where I had to solve a wiring problem. It was a long time ago, in my childhood. So years later I bought Rise of the Dragon again sealed. I may ignore it's collection value and try the game again as an adult. The puzzle may no longer be unsolvable.
That should end this debate permanently.
Game was impressive but it was shown on a platform I do not own. I cannot give credit for this title yet because now they are talking about a new engine. Who knows what console gamers are getting in the end.
Watch the suspense trailer. I'm sold.
Saw the suspense trailer on PSN. Day one purchase for me. This is THE Aliens game I've been waiting for!
I never considered the graphics beyond current console capabilities. I was impressed with the animation of the coat, the gameplay mechanics, and the overall theme of the game. The guy in the coat reminded me of that game Rise of the Dragon on Sega CD while the environments and tech reminded me of Deus Ex.
I do have some doubt about 3rd parties putting effort into console versions. I do hope Ubisoft puts some effort into this one though.
They are bringing video games to people who don't care, on a medium that prevents ownership, using a format that lacks possession, behind a service that provides just that....a service.
I've always thought of the Nintendo Wii as the entry point and the Xbox 360 as the midlevel game consoles in the lifecycle this generation. Here's why.
Both of these consoles had a strong, yet displaced, foundation for their successes during the initial course of this generation. The Wii and 360 both used social and popular based products and ideals.
For the Wii it was family. A social console backed by a controller that served two purposes. ...
As impressed with this as the new Tomb Raider game.
The issue is replacing single player instead of enhancing it.
1) Multiplayer
2) Coop
3) Motion Control
4) 3D
5) Xbox Live ( I say this specifically because of it's popularity status as an overall service)
When any or all of the features mentioned above take precident over a video game's quality then that is when video games, at it's core, become ruined. I've seen games have great single player but get...
