what one review may say over the other. If you are interested in the product try it out. If you like it then buy it. That is what the consumer is going to do. By January most people who have tried the Kincet will either like it or hate it.
but get the game out already. I have a steering wheel waiting. Let's just say GT5 was the biggest reason I bought a PS3.
it always comes down to the games. The Wii may only be slightly above a PS2 graphically but it had enough fun games with the motion that people bought it in droves. It's always the games that make it. The PS3 suffered from a lack of good games at launch and that hurt it at first. You can have all the tech you want but if you don't have good games people aren't going to want it... It's as simple as that.
one review. And one review is just one persons opinion most of the time. It will be interesting over the next several months to see how Kinect fares. I own the Move and it is very accurate. Although besides that there are hardly any games worth owning except Sports Champions. So far most of the games are just kiddy/party games. When I did own a Wii it did have several games that were just fun and didn't border on stupid. I think that is what helped the Wii succeed. Both the Kinect...
to I thought it was going to be decent but this is just not fun... Standing for an hour jumping and steering. If I wanted an aerobics class with funny movement I would be in an aerobics class. Because if you take away the screen and just watch the movement that is what you are looking at.
but I am not going to get up my hopes just yet... I know SONY wants to get this out before Christmas but I want a official release date. One that I know will be official...
service for North America. I like the social network features also. Maybe just maybe this will get some gamers to appreciate excellent cinema.
gets into the holiday season without an official date the worse it looks for a 2010 release. I am almost inclined to think that SONY is weighing whether they should release it this year. There is a lot of planning that comes into a big titles official release date and to just suddenly say it's coming out does not help sales. Also they need to give retailers at least three weeks notice with a release date so they can advertise it. Look what happened Sunday with some retailers advertisi...
Gran Turismo releasing early next year would mean price drops. Generally the price drops happen during the shopping season when some games sell underwhelming.
Please tell me what looks like so much fun??? I just want some honesty here. Nothing more and nothing less. I have played hundreds of games in my life. Many crappy games and many great games. This game just looks very simple and boring. Kind of like taking an Atari game and putting it into this generation with motion control. Left, Right, and jump. Very simple movements.
market is the biggest market that exists. It has brought on a whole new population to gaming. It has also helped create many new developers. I don't think it's a bad thing. It just helps make gaming more and more mainstream. It's not something kids or males do. It's something that is now enjoyed by males and females or all age groups and backgrounds.
dont own a 360 to start off with. So their investment would be a 360 bundle. This shouldn't be a shock as that is who Microsoft is trying to lure to the kinect. Motion control can be fun... But I know as well as most of you core gamers that fun wares off quickly. Not only for core gamers but even the casual gamers. There has to be a more addictive element to a game to keep people playing. I will say this for games like Sports Champions and other games. They are fun to start off wit...
ever have a diverse fan base??? They attempted games like the PS3 with a Singstar style game and Banjo and Kazooie and they both failed to sell. That shows their base is not diverse at all. Which is so surprising that they are releasing the Kinect. Microsoft is trying to reinvent itself completely. It's quite risky but I guess all the advertising dollars will help. As far as the core gamers it's hard to say what will happen to them. If Microsoft does not support the core gamers...
developer nickle and dimes. Some games have plenty of content like Assassins Creed 2 and yet there is some add on content. Burnout Paradise was a great game and took quite a few hours to beat and you could also purchase content. I don't have any problem with developers doing this.
Kinect advertisements. Whereas the Move commercials are on just about all the time. So I heard the 500 million marketing budget but where are the ad's. It will be interesting the see how the Kinect does. Success does not prove a good product. It's rather funny that there haven't been extensive demos or tests of this product so close to launch. Does anyone find this a little questionable? It may impress some and I am sure many 360 owners will get one. Although I can almost ...
this as the future of gaming. The large portion of Wii owners are niche owners. Out to buy the newest toy. These people will play it day after day for weeks and then grow tired of it and move onto something else that tickles their fancy. Whereas the core gamer has been there since the beginning. Spending a large portion of their hard earned cash on gaming. Core gamers spend a lot of money on gaming and it's really to bad Microsoft is investing in the niche gamers. Even the Wii is l...
You call yourself a gamer and think this is great?? I'm asking because I don't see anything remotely fun with this device. I have been gaming my entire life. I have owned every console the past decade. The Kinect is leaving the core gamer behind.
Now if you disagree with me then prove to me that isn't true. Prove to me Microsoft has a slew of titles coming out that attracts core gamers. The only promos I have seen over and over are the rafting game where y...
Microsoft is changing there whole focus and going more towards the casual crowd. Generally they have been catered more to the hardcore crowd which is loyal and great but Microsoft wants bigger profit margins. They can spend 10 million and release a Kinect title that sells 1 million copies and makes them a huge profit margin... or they could spend 30 to 50 million and hope a new IP takes off or gets left in the dust and could lose them money or just make a few bucks. Microsoft is going for ...
are clearly advertisements. While this is on a website as a review. Big difference with this.
no game will have accurate damage display. Because unless you have been in an accident where a car hits you 50mph plus you really have no idea how much damage is caused. If damage were accurate one crash and your vehicle would be dead. I don't think that would make for a fun game.
