is the best move they can make. They have constantly struggled trying to bring out more casual games and just seeing them fail. Even with a lower price 360 it still hasn't managed to compete with the Wii. The only move that makes sense is a new identity that the casual market can better identify with. Otherwise Microsoft will continue to just cater to a more hardcore audience.
SONY is doing what they should be doing. A smart marketing campaign. Likable people and of course great games. Despite the talk of arrogance SONY really stepped it up. They have always been good to their fans. I think now they have made themselves more accessible to western gamers.
You must just look for stuff to talk about. Is it really relevant how the PS3 is more powerful than some PC's. It's not like I am going to run Word or Excel on my PS3. On the gaming front you know what you have and I believe that is fairly clear to most gamers. So Pachter manages to once again create an irrelevant topic just to get some attention...
They need to put it into every PS3 at whatever cost. You can't expect success unless everyone who buys a PS3 has it whether they wanted it or not. If you make it optional it will only segment the group. If you pack it into all future PS3's then even existing consumers will want it.
make the PS3 a great long term investment. You have advanced motion control and soon 3d gaming and movies. These are all things that have existed. I played 3D games on my Sega Master System with the glasses. I played motion gaming on the PS2 and Wii. Now it goes to a whole new level that keeps it exciting. As long as SONY supports it and doesn't dump it like we have seen console makers do with add ons...
unless Natal can really live up to it's own hype it will crash. Their promo videos were amazing and voice recognition would make Natal a must have but I really don't see it happening. Just like Microsoft demoing a table pc that was basically a screen on your table that was touch screen. It was impressive but still is not real. I think Microsoft likes smoke and mirrors to hype up the masses...
You fail to comment on what was shown. The Wii was revolutionary. This takes the Wii motion to a whole new level. Having a camera with a more advanced console makes a world of difference. Despite what you may believe. Being able to multi function is a big asset. Not just to gaming but just about anything. Maybe nothing will come of all this. And then again maybe we will see some amazing games that use these abilities. I guess only time will tell...
will attract just about anyone to the PS3. Wii like games to a whole new level. Hard core games become something totally new to play. PC gamers will now have the accuracy of a mouse in shooters. The people who see this in action will become believers just as I have. I traded in my Wii after six months. I didn't have a lot of faith in Move. That is until now. I am excited for what this will be capable of and what will come over the next few years.
I really can't wait to see how developers augment this into games. Can you imagine being able to multi function in a game like Agent. Which is making me think it may use Move. Checking out a map and using Google to do a satellite search and then checking another screen to search files. It reminds me a lot of the device in Heavy Rain called ARI... This can really create a whole new genre of games. On top of that it will be able to do many other functions. Watching downloadable content on...
Aaron Greenburg are a big part of the problem in videogaming today. Years ago when it was the Genesis and SNES you didn't hear all this trash talking about numbers. Of course they came out but they weren't geared towards the fanbase but more towards stock holders. Most gamers weren't bothered by what console was number one or two. Most just cared about what games were coming out. Now with Greenburg it's like everyone has to be hostile towards each console. Instead of just enjoying the g...
I don't see how or why the Natal gets so much attention. Call me what you want but the Natal is nothing more than training to be a mime or doing improv. If those things were popular I could see the Natal taking off but they aren't. Most people don't have imaginations that great to pretend they are holding a gun or steering wheel. Even as a child I needed something to hold to make it feel real when playing cops and robbers or chase.
are one SONY redesigned the PS3 and lowered the price... This created demand they couldn't even account for. At I am sure they would rather deal with the shortages now in the slow season than during the holiday season.
Nintendo dropped it's price creating increased demand.
And that is simple economics. Please use a little common sense before you go off saying that the shortages are some fabrication on SONY and Nintendos part...
That if demand exceeds shipments it's just an excuse. So companies like SONY and Nintendo want to intentionally turn away customers and possibly get some of them to buy a 360 instead.... hmmm makes complete sense.
Maybe that will help make it get a lot more support. It will be interesting to see how they implement it into games.
to see how this is used in popular games. I think then either gamers will see it as something like a novelty or something useful in gaming.
I believe the public at large is slowly turning towards the PS3. Despite Microsoft trying to influence the media with advertising dollars... Although this is nothing new. It happens all the time on t.v. The media would rather be dishonest and misleading than lose their advertising dollars. SONY doesn't spend the same type of money on advertising dollars and that unfortunately influences web sites and their reviews. Even if a reviewer wanted to be honest they would be stopped before the ...
with these lower scores... 8.5 is still great but this is probably the best baseball game in a long time and one of the best sports games out. So I would think it deserves more. Anyway if you are a baseball fan and don't have this game you are missing out big time. If you are not a baseball fan go somewhere else...
a lot of fun... You could do just about everything. The only thing that got a little crazy was the constant on screen chaos.
The gameplay reminds me of Warhawk with the style of GTA... The storyline may be the only thing missing but the non-stop action is where it's at. It will be a sure buy if the reviews are decent.
are fooling themselves. It's smart of SONY to be letting the cat out on some of their biggest franchises... Doing that and some lower their expectations. Especially the media. So now they show off a couple of games that will completely excite the public. It will be interesting to see Microsofts show. They need to do something big. There's no doubt about that. And Natal needs to be more than amazing. Last years fake presentation needs to become real with the cherry on top othe...
