Yeah I know exactly what your talking about. Nascar is very tough. A lot tougher than I ever gave credit to those racers. To tailgate at 150mph is insane. It just takes lots of practice just like anything in Gran Turismo.
That would be the case with any accident. You hit anything over 100mph your vehicle will not be drivable. Some of you want to say the damage is unrealistic but there is no game with realistic damage because realism would be unplayable. Any little collision is magnified times 10 when it's at 100 mph or faster.
This is the same thing that the other GT games did for the PSone and PS2. Although the PS3 may still be a little too expensive. I think SONY thinks that they can keep it at that price because of GT5. I am not so sure as many of these people only play one game and then eventually try others. Maybe some of these guys can sweet talk their wives into getting them a very nice Christmas present.
The licenses are why a lot of people bought GT games including me. It's the effort that gets the reward and actually now I find the system less appealing because it is not based on the licenses but on leveling up. I would rather just have a straight license system. It's a great way to improve driving skills.
I have a friend who was on the fence with this game. When I sent him a pic I took last night he was sold. This game is easily a 9.5 for me. It has brought back my love of cars so much. I just have to be careful when I am in my own car now... It seems my foot has got a little heavier on the gas.
Every GT game has had unlocking of critical elements in the previous games. That is why it's so important to play this game much longer than a few hours. In previous GT games you had to complete licenses to get to critical races. This game is the same concept. If you are going to review a product you should have a detailed view of the game. I believe IGN said they only got to level 5 which can be accomplished in less than five hours. That is absurd that you review something after co...
Actually you can get it from Amazon for $41 http://www.amazon.com/Art-G...
GT5 has not only managed to bring my love of gaming back but also my love of cars. Kaz has such a love for what he does you can see it in the product he creates. This is not fastfood. This is 5 star restaurant quality wrapped in a six course meal.
I had my brother play today and he is not a fan of racing games in general. After a few races with a G25 wheel he was having fun. Just goes to show you that something this immersive can be fun for anyone. When you have the cha...
I am with you on that. I have put more time in this game than I have put into any game this gen. It's been years since I have felt this way about a game. When the first GT game came out I actually took it to work and had all my friends play it. I feel the same about this game. This is something no car enthusiast should miss out on.
I find it funny that every time there is a lower score for GT5 it's N4PS3G contributing it. People like that are not even gamers. They are just haters missing out on greatness. If people were so disappointed with this game they would have already stopped playing it. Not the case with my friends who have it.
Despite what the reviews say this game does not rely on reviews good or bad. Many in the actual GT community don't even look at reviews. They are not really gamers. There is one game they will play and it is GT5. When they hear there friend talk about it or see some positive article in a car magazine they will jump on this game... and yes many automobile mags talk about Gran Turismo. This game may become one of the biggest sellers ever with the lowest metascore showing how irrelevant...
Some of you don't understand the concept of Gran Turismo and it is above your head. GT has and always been a simulator. The concept behind the game is to become a more skilled driver. These skills believe it or not you can use in real life. Since this is a simulator the damage is real. You have to pay to keep up your car unlike other games where like a miracle it is back to beautiful. GT5 does not give you that. When you damage your car it stays that way. The purpose is not to dam...
The damage model is beautiful but I am almost afraid to get to that level. Considering I spent over 100k to upgrade a 69 Camaro. It looks beautiful and I have become so careful as to not play bumper cars. I am on level 14 right now so I know it's coming soon.
It's not just how the game looks. It's far from that. Even though it does look amazing. It's the feel of each and every car. How taking on challenges and feeling the weight of the car and how it responds to the road. Being able to listen to the car just hum is beautiful as it vibrates the room with bass of the engine. I tried the Nascar challenge it was so loud and the bass was so strong it got a little annoying. I have never felt so into a game as I do know. Get behind th...
The difference between games like Halo and Gran Turismo and the Playstation brand vs. the XBox brand is very different customer bases. This game will eventually outsell Halo. The GT base is very different. For many this is the one game they have been waiting for. With Christmas some may actually have to wait since this requires they also buy a PS3. Also the very strong word of mouth will carry this game for a very long time. Just like the other GT games. Just by being on n4g it is easy...
IGN used to be a respected game site that you could read their reviews and trust them. Now I don't even give them the time of day.
Hey Petay why don't you prove you have played... What's your PSN so people can see that you have really played the game.
I am tired of these people who make up a bunch of garbage. Screen Tearing and poor music???
Really I would disagree and even with over 100 songs you can still customize it.
This is not the first time a PS3 exclusive got poor reviews despite being loved by those who played it. I do feel Microsoft is threatened by a game like this. It can easily outsell Halo and they will do anything to stop that. You think that they are not capable of that? This wouldn't be the first time that reviewers were biased because they received some type of gifts or money.
This is easily one of the greatest racing games I have ever played and yet some reviewers w...
How can the sound be a 65?
This game has some of the best vehicle sounds I have ever heard. The engines vibrate my room. Playing with a Nascar is so loud it gets annoying. And over 100 songs. Please tell me how the sound is bad.
bumnut you don't seem to understand that if it were a true sim it would not be fun at all at first. People would be destroying their cars and have nothing to race with. GT5 is all about learning how to drive and use that skill to race on real world tracks. Whenever you learn something new you will make lots of mistakes. And in real life there is no way that they will put you into a race car without experience. GT5 at least lets you get into a car from the start and start racing it. ...
