A updated XCom UFO Defense. If this game is considered one of the best games ever made there really shouldn't be anything stopping a developer from making an updated version of this game. I am sure there are at least a couple million of us that would love to see this happen.
I think with the state of the economy game companies are in no rush to see a new generation of consoles. Considering all three have plenty of life left. Even the Wii continues to chug along. I have never been more satisfied this far into a gaming generation than I am with this one. Game developers continue to push limits and release a crazy amount of games.
Uncharted 3 proves that the PS3 has yet to hit it's stride. In another 2 years we may see the graphical limit...
XCom UFO defense is one of the best games ever. And that is coming from someone who has played every genre of games for nearly 30 years. I was sad to see the change from a tactical turn based game to something so common. Games like the original XCom are sorely needed in this generation and I think one or two on occasion could do well. The new XCom really shouldn't be called XCOm because it bares no similarity to the original. It's like calling a fast food place McDonalds that ser...
I would like to know what they say every year. When they give an actual release date they keep it. GT5 and LBP 2 were the only games I can think of that had delays and those were both minor. I don't care what place the PS3 is in. This is the best gaming experience I have had since being a Playstation owner since 9/9/95. So being the underdog has made them much better. Gamers who don't own a PS3 are really missing out on this great console.
As compared to people who spend 6 plus hours a day playing a shooter online have great social skills.
Washington do you really think SONY thinks Home is a failure? They would not be spending as much time in money in it if it didn't work. It's simple economics. Many may not like it but in the end it makes money and I am tending to think it makes a lot of money. Simple $1 or $2 transactions add up quick every day over the period of weeks we are talking about a multi million venture which probably makes a lot more profit than some of the games. Home is not really a place I enjoy but...
Tony you can give all the props you want to Crytek but a great developer is someone who can take a limited platform and make the best out of it. Naughty Dog continues to do amazing things and I still don't think they have reached the limit considering we are only entering the fifth year of the PS3. As long as there isn't a PS4 we will see first parts devs push further.
I really wish these comparisons would stop. If you are a gamer and have enough time on your hands to play both games and nitpick them to death that is fine. Otherwise enjoy what you have. I can just speak for GT5 being great and I am at level 20 and the damage looks very good. Although I don't like seeing my very expensive car get smashed up.
You play GT5 with a wheel and you realize how real it is. You take the difficulty level up several notches. I own the G25 and it does make the game much harder but it also makes it much more real. I would love to see an actual racing seat that adds road vibration to really make it feel like you are racing.
We still have a special announcement the day after the VGA's from SONY. It will be interesting to see. If Uncharted 3 is announced during the VGA's I would really wonder what else they could announce.
This person needs to learn how to use flop correctly. It has never been used in the sense of reviews. Was Spiderman 3 a flop because of bad reviews despite making a billion dollars. A flop is based on sales. If GT5 sells less than 5 million in a year I think most would call it a flop but that is yet to be seen. This website is way to quick to judge.
I don't think this is something they just planned based on reviews. I think this was something they had planned and part of the reason the game was delayed. They just couldn't get it into place soon enough and there you have it. The public was demanding the game and the reviewers became very harsh on these things. Maybe in the next couple of months these reviewers can take another look at the game and re-evaluate it. I have believed from the start this is a superb game but many r...
So instead of giving the most diverse driving experience just give a limited experience. Shift was a good game but it doesn't come close to the GT5 experience.
Who cares about standards when it comes to GT5??? I think the Polyphony team held themselves up to a high standard. If this game does not crack 5 million sold it will be a disappointment to SONY and Polyphony and serious changes will be made. I love the game although after many hours and level 20 one thing is apparent and that is lack of tracks and races. One thing I have always loved about this series is getting better licenses to get in tougher races. I have yet to see any endurance ra...
Whatever you may try to say negatively should not effect this game. The massive GT community involves professional and amature racers and car enthusiasts the world over. Do you really think these people read game reviews? Most don't get into these politics. They do know one thing and that's GT5 is out and they have been waiting a long time for this game. They also know the game follows the same formula and some will want to give a game lower scores for that but it is still great....
So now because you have to wait for something it makes it bad. Game reviewers have souned like a bunch of spoiled children who need to be spoon fed. The fast food culture has invaded gaming where the expectations are not on making something great but making something average every year or two. It's very sad and I really hope this game still sells very well because I don't want Polyphony to get that message and change this game to make it an arcade simulator.
EGM was great because they had 4 scores for a game. Obviously one persons opinion can be subjective but when you have 4 reviews it really gives you a great idea about a game. And the great thing about EGM is that they didn't always agree on a score. Nowadays a shooter fan can review a racing game or vice versa. It would make no sense for me to review a shooter if I don't like shooters and if I don't have the patience for a driving simulator I shouldn't review that. It wou...
GT5 is for those who loves cars and had dreams they could drive a Ferrari or a Lamborghini or any number of amazing cars that may cost more than a beautiful home. I have always been fascinated by the beauty of cars and more so what they would be like to drive. GT5 gives me that.
A very well written review and speaks to all the points that GT fans stress. The game is not for everyone but those who want a realistic driving experience with an unbelievable amount of cars Gran Turismo 5 is the best you can get.
Nothing about GT5 should be changed and I think the fans agree. Three weeks later and plenty of people still are playing it all the time. If this game was really a failure then that wouldn't be the case. Having B-Spec adds a lot more to the game. I am very happy with this game and I think it is one of the best values in gaming.
