In a slowing economy. With the higher fuel prices and job losses, people are more willing to spend money doing stuff at home. That is where gaming comes in. Spending money on a videogame rather than going out to eat has become a trend lately. I expect the videogame industry to do very well this holiday season.
This is SONY's way of addressing stockholders. Stockholders who really don't care about console wars. They only care about bottom line. If SONY is doing better then that is good news for them. That means the stock will probably gain value. Although I hope they really do care about the console war and lower the price for the consumer.
If you read the video it says alpha... Which means it is not even close to the final product. This game has a lot of time to fix any slowdown or glitch that someone may complain about. This may end up being one of the most polished products gamers have ever seen.
I think SONY is trying to gear their commercials towards a wider audience. In all three commercials it shows different people and different games. A child, a teenager, and an adult couple. The commercials are mysterious and present the PS3 as a more mature experience. I also hope that the 21st day may bring on a price cut with their new 160gig console. Considering the 21st lands on a Friday which is exactly one week before the traditional start of the Christmas shopping season.
And guess what??? No hard drive install. So yes they have created a massive and beautiful city with no installs. The game is fun and challenging. Any of you who enjoy good quality racers should get this game.
Don't they think there may be a reason sales are so low.... Hmmmm could people be waiting on a certain bundle. A Little Big Planet bundle. If the sales are like this a few weeks from now there will be a problem. Although I highly doubt that will be the case.
Give it a day or two and see what the general consensus on this game is. Plus a game that scores an 8 or above is generally good. I am sure this game will get a few nines also.
Unfortunately we live in a world where corporations and governments are worried about offending others. I could see a game getting changed if it had a song that was racist. For those of you old timers you may remember GTA III was delayed for a month since the games original release was close to 9/11. I believe it was done to clip the wings on the dodo plane... So as not to upset people of crashing planes.
How you can disqualify IGN as a credible site based of a few reviews you may disagree with. I have disagreed with some IGN reviews but overall they are an excellent site. The Motorstorm 2 score doesn't make sense at first until you read the reasoning behind the score. When people make comments like Little Big Planet is a game that only kids well enjoy. I am not overly excited by it but it will be revolutionary for gaming and especially the PS3. If you have this mentality that games that don't have guns and over violence are childish you aren't really a gamer. The Nintendo Wii has proven that games don't have to be violent to be successful. This game along with a price cut will make an overwhelming difference for the Holiday season. Without a price cut...
Does any of this really effect you as a gamer? This holiday season will have more blockbuster games than any time in the history of gaming. Certainly any gamer will need a huge budget just to enjoy 1/4 of the games available. It's great to see all three consoles doing very well despite retail sales dropping nationally.
I don't think in the history of consoles have we seen as many potential hit games as this holiday season. That said most of these are multiplatform. The problem for the PS3 is price. That is what will determine the success of the PS3 for the holidays. SONY needs to cut price and if they don't do this by November they will fall behind to the 360...
This is a great console but the price is just too high. SONY will need to do something this holiday season or they will get left in the dust. Having great games is one thing but the high price point will keep most from purchasing a PS3. SONY needs to wake up and realize most are really going to cut back and won't be going high end for anything. When this releases hopefully it will be accompanied by a price drop...
Being in the BETA they do have a music zone with real music. Although the selections are very limited right now I can see it being like a dance floor in the future... I don't know about actual streaming of music off the harddrive...
You sir are really ignorant and know nothing about HOME... I am a BETA tester and can say that this is a very safe environment. SONY is looking into what each persons personal space can have right now. After the last update they don't allow personal photos. So I think they are one step ahead of you... Plus it becomes parents responsibilities to put filters on the PS3 if that is their wish. Parents can make it so their children cannot communicate with others unless they are on their frie...
Pay attention to anything the gameplay is exactly like their previous game Indigo Prophecy. I don't know why some are so one dimensional. A true gamer enjoys all different genres just like a real movie buff likes movies of all genres. Story also makes a great game and I am sure this game will have a great story.
Originally in the Beta they allowed you to have pictures on the wall where you could put any pics from your hard drive on. The update before the current one they removed the feature. I don't know whether they are afraid people will put questionable pics up or for some other reason.

Why do some write articles like this??? It's unfortunate that with such a great game there still has to be haters. I don't mind intelligent criticism but when it's veiled in jealousy it makes for poor writing. This game I believe will be what helps put the PS3 on top. It will attract many from the start and the word of mouth will help create a revolution. I think SONY's best move would be to pack this game in with consoles....
Has sold 2 million in 24 hours. Although that says even more because the games are so well respected they end up selling over ten million in the long run. Franchises like Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto which started on Playstation. I don't think SONY has ever over hyped any game. Since I owned a PSone on 9/9/95 I don't remember any title getting non stop advertisements. Look at Gran Turismo.
